My dmil called this a.m. just 10 minutes away and asked to drop by. We enjoyed her visit. Laundry portion of MDCard waited - no problem.

HRH did take me out to eat lunch at the Mexican restaurant we'd planned. Although their prices were slightly up from their website menu, the portions were large, and all was prompt and friendly. Nice atmosphere. The important thing was that he felt "heard" when he asked for changes and enjoyed his meal, got rather a full to-go box as well. I just want him to remember that he wants to go the next time!

The heat was so intense out that we decided to come straight home with no other directions taken, so the prescription is still waiting. Also, we were very close to his brother's work but neither of us thought it smart to walk back and forth across a scalding parking lot. (remembering Twins' admonition.) We'll just have to go out for prescription as the sun goes down, or something.

Twins', yes, do have an actual gift for a shower if possible, even if there are more convenient shipping ways. It is a compliment to each one who has hoped and prepared for the day, when they see that you would make the point to do something tangible right then.

Nancy, that was downright kind to do for the mail carrier. She must have smiled.

96 "feels like 104" here now, and either Mon or Tues we will hit 100 outright, with 99s the days around that, no rain

Geekness embracing - The computer HRH ordered for the den arrived and after an hour's arguing at the screen, he has it working well. He, of course, was right and the screen was wrong. He has corrected it sternly.

A load of laundry is now through to drip-dry, so that was hardly any delay at all for the dailies.

Next up- Junk drawer organization is up for July declutter challenge.

Later, I want supper to be no-sodium if possible, low-sodium without a doubt, to balance the meal out. Thinking on that.

bittersweet, what colors peonies do you have? Size of blooms? My grandmother had one that was white - I think it is gone. Good job on your sewing for little frightened hearts. '*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'

Harriet ~ I saw that on FB or some where, any way I told her it was waiting when she was delivering a package next
door & she said thanks and was pleased! It was a diet black cherry they are good dgson liked it too.

Just had a long chat with dd she was at work her ex h best friend passed away this week of heart attack.
So I had some input and mostly just listened to her process all of that.

While we talked I was able to do some pupa and RBR and the house looks better in the other than zone
areas. Yea for that!

Working on my inside stuff I've been putting off this week 17 cards done yea!
At least two more to do hoping to get to them to nite.

Dd25 called and said, "Can you tell what is playing in the background?" I listened for 10 or 12 seconds and said, Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies. And she said she wanted me to remember how we'd had fun when she was little exercising to that, since she had to tell me he had passed away at 76. Sigh. She quoted some of his posts yesterday on his birthday, telling how much fun he'd had with greetings and that he was responding. That guy helped a lot of people. She was watching the "Two" of the series and recognized two or three of the very, very sick folks were in that group recovering, and she could remember their stories.

The new valance came for the den and I mostly put it up by myself but not quite tall enough, so HRH got it up. I think I'm pleased. A little dark. We'll see. This will help with the summer sunlight that is worrying me a little as it hits a quilt hung on the wall in there.

My peonies are three different shades of pink, Harriet. At the moment, I have 10 bushes, three of which are still too small to bloom. The five biggest ones out front are the medium pink, there's one bush in the back that blooms an almost deep ruby shade of pink, and a couple more that have pale, pale pink blooms that fade to white within a couple of days. On most of the bushes the blooms are 4 - 5" across.. so heavy the branches end up drooping to the ground.This year on the bigger bushes, we had a minimum of about 30 blooms! And the smell..... oh to sit on the front step and smell the peonies is just so heavenly!! The peonies are done for the season now, but I've got larkspur, veronica, tradescantia, and 7'tall delphiniums blooming.. all in assorted shades of blue and purple. Oh... and daisies. There's more daisies than I know what to with!

My plan of having no errands today got shot down when I realized I needed to pick up some cherries for dMum. She really likes the Rainier cherries, but the only ones they had in weren't very nice looking, so I went with regular cherries. She'll just have to survive

i have to admit to feeling rather like not doing too much for the rest of the day. I do need to flip the laundry, and once the rest of it is dry, I'll have to fold it and put it away.

it's hard to believe Richard Simmons is gone. I love his Sweatin' to the Oldies videos, and he was such a character!

Dr. Ruth also passed away yesterday.

Good evening!

I'm sitting here trying to decide whether to do dishes next or put the wash in the dryer. Instead, I have gone down the rabbit hole reading (and in one case, watching) tributes to Richard Simmons and Dr. Ruth!

DH is headed out tomorrow morning for a week of camping with the Scouts. He'll come back Saturday, head into work on Monday for just one day, and then we'll head to New Hampshire to visit DSIL. So I rounded up the kids this afternoon for some reminders that not only do they need to step up more in general, but even more so this coming week. It'd help if I were better at asking for help, but DH does so much around here that if I think of something that needs to be done, I feel guilty if I don't do it.

I didn't go to church this evening with DH because I managed to convince the kids not only to go to the church blood drive with me tomorrow, but actually to go to church! Now, I'm worrying that giving blood will take too much time, and I will be late to visit my DM. Oh, well. I will just go when I go; the folks at the nursing home will feed her if I'm not there.

I think I will rinse & stack the dishes and then put the clothes in the dryer (and a few things on the line in the basement). Sweet dreams to everybody!
