Some thing I saw reminded me about the Seattle worlds fair in 1962 I went to with my family.
I had to look up the year.
Today got a ballot and there are 28 ones to pick for on gov. our gov. is not running again.

I got the last of the apples picked starlings have been eating them that's how I know to pick all the rest of them.
So I'll be doling them out the next few days.

Watered the by the tree on the fence line in the neighbors yard bc it's so dry and they do not water much.
SAw three speckled young robins in the front yard.

I have a plan for meals today.

Making Memories....I am light hearted about it now that we are on the other side of the experience, and everyone is SAFE. However, it was stressful while living through it until I knew everyone was safe.

DS15 and friend worked more on the rear end of the Duramax. They called for us to come look at it because they were so proud that they had it fixed and finished this project. Their unexperienced and untrained selves had successfully replaced the rear end of the pickup! After DH and I oood & awed at their hard work and success, they decided to take it on a test drive to get drinks.

A few minutes later our phone rang with the words....the driveshaft just fell out! We need an 11/16" socket and racket please.
We grabbed the tools and headed their way. When DH and I turned the corner to main street we saw Berries and Cherries lights flashing. My heart sank. I had just heard DS15 voice on the phone so I knew he was alive but seeing the police involved wasn't something I expected.
It all turned out okay. The police had helped them tie the front of driveshaft up with a rope so they could get the pickup off the road.
Once they had the required tools they had no problem crawling under the pickup and removing the other end of the driveshaft off the vehicle. They put the broken driveshaft in the bed of the pickup, then used 4-wheel drive so they could drive it home.

Last Saturday DS15 depleted his emergency fund buying the rear end. Now he will need to find a replacement driveshaft that fits his requirements. Reminding myself they are learning Life Lessons. Life Skills.

In the meantime,.....the rodeo happens tonight again. I have answered his request for permission to ride the bucking bulls at the rodeo. Not only NO but ABSOLUTELY NOT A CHANCE OF ME CHANGING MY MIND.....my answer is a firm NO!
For those who aren't in the bucking bulls worlds a typical bull rider is 5'-5” to 5'-10” at the most. DS15 is too tall to ride. There was a 6'2" fella who rode but DS15 is taller than that. NO NO NO!

Raising teens isn't for the faint of heart.

15 minutes went by in a flash! I did a bit of weeding, tied up a couple of tomatoes, and started cleaning off the patio table. After that, I came inside, got the laundry started (DS carried it down for me), chatted with DD for a bit, fed the dogs, and washed the master bedroom floor, and then flipped the laundry. I even remembered to have some lunch and take my noon meds.

Your DS wants to ride the bulls, LadyM?!?!?! My answer would have been exactly the same as yours!!

It's not as hot here as some of you are dealing with (90F with the humidex) but it's very unusual for us to have this sort of heat for this long. Kind of gives new meaning to global warming Before it gets even hotter, I'm going to get a few things done:


- 15 minutes weeding outside
- 15 minutes decluttering in the nice cool basement
- polish the living room furniture

I took a little drive to a farm stand that I hadn't seen in a while, but a friend told me she had gotten peaches there last week. I found the stand! I also got a bag of 14 "imperfect" peaches for $3! Dh brought home a bag of massive cherries when he was out this morning.

Two of the cats had a fabulous time outside earlier. They were hunting tiny little mice together. Inside they hiss and fuss at each other, but outside they team up swatting a baby mouse between each other. Silly cats.

I have made lunch tried some thing new.
I but some sloppy Joe mix in with the sliced zucc. egg and topped with cheese.
It was very yummy.

I am glad that I have done the spinning of the green fiber and that had ready to go.
I got the next batch it is half of the amount I did the last few days.
I did up the knitting for today.

I watered a bit and have been spinning.
I have been spinning wool and got the next batch ready and have been spinning on it & I've
made some progress.

Had dinner and put away the lunch dishes.
It was up to 103* here today.
still 89* at dusk tonight.
Will not cool off to be under triple degits until Tues.

Just a normal Saturday here. Dgs has some kind of imaginary football going and keeps updating me.
