LadyM… my niece in law was a writer for the first season of The Newroom.

The stormy weather cancelled my class this morning, so instead I enjoyed my second cup of coffee and had my entire home mopped by 10:15!

First I made sure everything was removed from my floors before I started my work. After I finished I reversed the process. Glad to get it done.

Ate my breakfast, ordered some things for my friends birthday from Amazon and then watched a bit of tv. It’s been storming off and on all day with the hurricane bands still effecting us. And there is plenty of thunder and lightning as well.

Ugh. Email re: unresolved issue on article, requesting Zoom meeting at 11:15 Pacific, 2:15 my time. I am home now, can meet, but haven't heard from back. And she said possibly meet at that time....

I forgot to take the check with me to take to bank, and when I got to post office, I got the HOA mail, but line was very long to mail a package and I didn't want to wait. So only got one thing done.

And pool chairlady for HOA sent me info re: check the other day and tradesperson who did work wants check almost immediately. This makes me crazy.

Happy Birthday Lady M's DS16!!Where oh where has the time gone?

I'd love to be able to manage the weather here - it's rather grey and gloomy today. At least it's not raining at the moment, but it's still fairly wet outside from the rain last night. We may or may not get more rain today - much depends on Mother Nature and her moods (as always  ) Since today is a holiday here, I've got the day off, and need to get a few things done around the house. Then again, we all usually have things that need doing  .

Before the day is over, I'd better get myself moving here:

- wash dishes
- fold/put away laundry
- clean up ddoggo presents in the yard
- order groceries online
- change bed (and make more laundry  )

Happy Birthday to LadyM's ds16!

Nancy, wow, isn't it amazing how something will suddenly catch people's interest, and you really did get something interesting at The River. I shared it to HRH. For me, Tour de Fleece, Morning Vibe and Sky. But then you knew it would be that first choice for me, lol.

Voices - I think if people heard mine, they would think I was flighty. Hmmm... .. Nancy's is calm and collected. I bet lucylee and Twins' would be smiling with me when I check (well, click) Rita at The Quilted Chicken Farm Channel, who, although she lives "at the bottom of the Ozarks" sounds just like some of my family directions. HRH says she may be a few states away, but she's either been visiting my kin or his, lol. She takes my blood pressure down.

Unbelievably, raining. Again. Hard. Battening, but then it's nowhere near time for Debby yet (?) so we are getting the unaffiliated showers before the upcoming bath. Patting self on back (slight ouch) for getting groceries quickly this a.m., done and done, rather than trying other ways.
Ramblin', glad you are tucked in.

I am a showered person, impressively splotched but okay with the water, temp, etc., and now in a softy-soft tee. Nurse called and asked how I was and I said optimistic, which must have been a lie, because as we went more into it, how I need more appts now, etc., etc., I got teary. Had to call her back. Second time today, actually, because I tripped carrying groceries into house from porch and hurt - my feelings? - or something? Just burst right into tears and scared HRH behind me, who asked over and over what's wrong. So, I, of course, said, well I tripped and it made me cry. Doesn't that make sense? Dd25 says she's going to call me on her way home from work, so I can obsess.

Oh, the bathroom lights/receptacle, done while I was down and out - just beautiful to look at, so well lighted, but wired wrong. 5 (yes five, with HRH right here and dstepson hanging out) men did not notice that now the one and only (very nice) receptacle is controlled by the light switch, so how can anything (like my toothbrush) charge unless all the lights also stay on? We normally would not turn on lights unless someone was actually in the room. I wonder if they perhaps realized they couldn't do what I wanted after all, with existing 1958 situation ... ..

(((Harriet and LadyM))) with the rashes. Something like that is sooo aggravating. I remember with shingles, I was VERY careful in the shower, only let the water spray VERY briefly on the affected side/back. I am glad that LordM is doing well. And my goodness -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Lord and LadyM's DS!!! Sweet Sixteen!!! It seems like it was just a year or so ago that he was a blonde-haired toddler in a swimming pool picture you shared. Sixteen is such a big step, I think, for everyone. I wasn't allowed to date till I was 16, and of course, the driver's license, which will help EVERYONE at your house, LadyM. :D

So -- I guess I'm managing Monday. Took DGS to McD's, then home, and he's at football practice now. DS dropped dgd off when he took DGS to practice, and she will spend the night tonight. Summer is ending. Today was dgs's last morning to sleep in, and Wednesday will be dgd's last night. They both have Open House/Meet the Teacher tomorrow, and dgd says they are going shopping Wednesday. Nothing like waiting till the last minute, right?
I have a few ta-da's, however:
* Did morning stretches
* Made a bunch of phone calls --
-- conservation office b/c I did not understand letter I got re: trees I have in their program (no action was needed on my part.)
-- family doctor, to ask for mammogram referral, since I still have no gynecologist -- appt is in October
-- called DDIL, discussed her gyno, encouraged by her recommendation,
-- called her gyno -- they should be calling me back, but so far, nothing
-- called bank to check auto deposit
* Went to Wmart with dgd, put away groceries
* Listened to a 1 hour video, part 1 of 5 (Transformation Week , from GrowthDay app.) This is a motivational, productivity improvement site, these 5 episodes are free. (Complete 12-month program is VERY expensive.) I'm thinking, short of going to therapy, I need to work on myself in some ways also. This first episode was on CLARITY and asks "What are 3 things you could do right now to improve your life, feeling "alive" in the moment and pursuing meaningful activities to fulfill your purpose in life, your relationships with others, etc.
-- Well, I don't even know WHAT I want anymore. I'm thinking I need to (1) figure out who I am now, on my own, without dh, and (2) develop more confidence re: social situations, travel, planning things, etc. And of course, (3) develop some consistency in exercise and healthier habits.

Nancy, I missed something. What was your A-river finding?

Voices? I think I missed this too. I'm sure I sound very Southern. But not like people in South Alabama, if you've ever listened to Kathryn Windham Tucker or some of those people with really deep Southern accents. DDIL said she couldn't understand dh and me (or anyone else!) when she moved here, LOL.
I absolutely hate to hear myself on tape. Makes me wonder why anyone ever allowed me to stand in front of students and talk!

I've gotta go. DGD needs something.

The same tornado that hit Buffalo also hit Fort Erie on the other side of the bridge. They haven't "confirmed" it but there is an extensive line of damage on our side of the border. There might have been more than one touch down spot, with numerous sightings of more than one funnel. There has also been "rotation" in another storm much closer to where I live. The thunderstorm included A LOT of rain that came very quickly and the wind made the rain seem like it couldn't come down fast enough. I've done a walk around our property and we didn't have any damage. I've never seen our trees dance they way they were all dancing this afternoon.

I wonder how the trailer park made out where Dee and her husband used to spend their summers.

Looking for a replacement HP chrome book that died in the spring. Using LH pc now it's fine but I wanted it for my bd. or Cmas.

School supplies should be in stock soon I would think.

I have a you - tube shot with river in the title up that got 10K views a couple of days ago.

lucylee, it was only me talking about voices because Nancy's voice is on some yt video shorts. In the Carolinas, there are many varied low-country, Charleston, mountain accents. We hear Charleston and marvel at the difference, as they go ou-ut to fish in bo-aats. My area is not far from the foothills of Blue Ridge, maybe, and I find it interesting the lady I also mentioned sounds like voices here: Ozark Mountain foothills that far from us. I wonder what a linguist would say.

In the "I didn't have that on my Bingo card" department
:(
our AC is out.
either HVAC checkup guy did something or lightning, maybe? Delayed?
Humidity is off the charts in here. 2 floor fans pulled out and trying.
Probably not good for my skin situation.
They can't come until tomorrow p.m. sometime.
Tobias is appalled.

Dd25 called but that girl talks a mile a minute especially after work, and for half an hour I never got to tell her the AC was out. She's mine, isn't she?

Think wintry thoughts - penguins, sleds, Jack Frost.

I'm gone unless I just can't sleep. poof

Oh no, Harriet! If there's anything worse than shingles it's shingles with a heat wave and no AC. ((((HUGS))))

Well, y'all, if I disappear * like blessed? Elizabeth? * y'all won't have to worry about what happened to me. DS will have realized that I am truly ready for the insane asylum.
I may have told y'all -- last week I went to Wmart and I rang up two items TWICE each. The first was a bouquet of flowers, and as I was trying to put them in the bag, they flopped over and hit the register again. I noticed what happened immediately and called the lady over to void that item. The second was a large bottle of Aleve, and I have no idea whatsoever how that happened. I did NOT notice until I got home, but since it cost $25, I called Wmart and asked if they could give me that money back. They were very kind. It helped that the store manager is the mother of two of my best former students.
TODAY... nope, didn't ring up anything extra... just left two items sitting in the bag at the register.
I did not notice this until after dgd's bath, which she wanted to take early, thank goodness. Where were her Mr. Bubble color fizzies? Hmmm... and where was my stomach medicine? Nope not in the car... (as dgd suggested.) Oh. My. Goodness. Call Wmart, yep, two items left at the last self-check out register around 3:00. Back to Wmart we go...
I told the manager this time, I am through with self-check. I am leaving this with the trained professionals.
Is this what they call Widow's Fog? I didn't think I was having such problems with ordinary day-to-day activities, but apparently I am.
