I got a few to do’s checked off, even though Dgd was here.
— made two phone calls, made appointment with new gynecologist, confirmed appointment with dermatologist
— washed load of clothes
— went to dbil’s office and filled out paper for parking hangtag at College Town
— went to post office, renewed subscription to Guideposts magazine
-- transferred Round Up to bottle that would spray :!: and sprayed weeds along driveway
* I know there is a lawsuit against Round Up; I figure a person who does no more yard work than I do is in very little danger.

Still need to
[x] exercise
[x] fold towels
[x] watch online video day 2
Today's topic was "Master Your Mindset." A lot of stuff that I can relate to -- self-damaging thoughts like "I don't know how to..." I don't have..."(whatever resources, money, etc.)... "I'm not like them..." (the people we admire or see as having it all together) or "I'm the only one who can..." which is a way of thinking that causes us to isolate ourselves and refuse to ask for help.

I guess I have been guilty of all these sorts of negative thoughts, but I really feel the part about "I'm not like them." I have never felt as "grown-up" as the people in my Sunday School class, or often times, my co-workers, even friends. I don't feel like I know enough or that I'm sophisticated enough. I was really totally amazed when one of them said the other day, "Lucy, YOU are an inspiration to US." I still really don't have any idea what she was talking about, but I guess it was the way I came back to Sunday School and the way I have pitched in to help with meals for other funerals (even though my meager fruit tray is really a lazy way of helping.) I don't know.
These five sessions online are all about goal setting and motivation, confidence, and productivity, and I really have no idea what my goals might be at this point. I don't have many goals right now; I'm just sorta doing the bare minimum. But I think motivation and confidence are things I really need to work on, so I'm hoping that taking notes on these videos will be useful somewhere down the road.

I exercised and folded the towels.

LadyM, that dress is really pretty! My family would probably act the same way though — I’m in jeans 99% of the time, too.

I have to tell you a funny story —
My late dmil wore the true mumu all the time — I mean, bright colors, wild prints, mid-calf, short, sorta bell sleeves. If you’ve ever looked at the Vermont Country Store catalog… well, there you go.
Dmil also had sensitivity issues, I think. Always tore the tags out, sometimes creating rips in the neck. She’d put a safety pin in there and go right on. She insisted on 100% cotton, and would sometimes even wear her tops wrong-side out because the seams rubbed!
Okay, here’s what made us LOL.
Dmil would visit her sisters who were both in a nursing home here in town.
One day she came back from her visit and said, “If ONE MORE PERSON says to me, ‘I didnt know you were up here…’”
LOL, she didn’t finish the statement, but we were ROFLOL. She was sooo mad that people thought she was a patient.

My aunt went to the same beauty shop as dmil.
After dmil left one day, and she and daunt had been talking, the beautician said, “you know Mrs. —-?”
Daunt said yes, and the beautician said, “You know, I used to feel so sorry for her, the way she dresses, and then one day I saw her leave and go get in a Cadillac… and I figured she was doing okay.”
