DS16 girlfriend is here. It seems that it is an everyday occurrence lately. Although their time together is going to be greatly reduced. with both starting school plus both working. The girlfriend also plays 2 sports so she has practice and games after school. The girlfriend is a junior in high school (same as DS16). She is doing concurrent enrollment at votech and will have CNA license and phlebotomist certificate when this school year ends. Her career goal is to be an Obstetrics RN.
I have been working on homeschool lesson plan and assignments for this week. I am okay with easing into homeschool lessons and then gradually increasing the workload.
I cooked a couple ingredients to add to our ready-to-eat stash. I chopped a head of cabbage and sauteed it. Ham steaks were cooked and are cooling now. DH wanted cooked apples so that is accomplished.
Next is a watermelon that needs to be cut open and cubed.

Our day was mostly about dd25 and dsonil visiting. They took another small load from here - a full box about 3'x3' square. If they continue taking just small loads, how long is this going to take, though. Oh, well. It did take dd a long time to get it together. They had to leave the bday gift on ds' porch and miss visiting with that family. They took dd44's boys to the comic book store, lunch and ice cream, using dd44's SUV, which has enough seats.
After they were gone, I decided I would try a nap and HRH said he would faithfully come wake me when I told him to. But my dcousinMary called, which was way more important, and I didn't even get as much of a nap as planned. She was telling me all about the shower, so I enjoyed all the "color commentary" she did on that, plus we talked and talked and talked in general. Easiest person to talk to in the world.
Sleep - I know some things but have no business pretending I am good at them. um... ... When you nap, don't nap much. Coffee in the a.m., not later - teas are a good idea later. But, also, watch the liquids too close to bedtime or you'll just physically be sabotaging yourself. Drink enough early in the day that you aren't doing without. Sweet Potato is a natural friend of sleep and rest when eaten a couple hours before bed. This is because it is a "slow starch" that doesn't cause much of a swing of your blood sugars, which could disturb sleep, and because they have the right amount of very complex carbs so that there is the amino acid tryptophan in the brain, therefore allowing serotonin to be there, too. Their B-6 and magnesium calms the nerves and encourages settling in for good sleep. They are an old, old remedy in various parts of the world, tried and true. Those with blood sugar issues, be thoughtful about them, of course.
My sleep wish list would be a little earlier rising time and earlier bedtime. I'm not really as bad normally as I have been with steroid, staying up until 2 or something, but I would like to be in bed at 11, for instance. That would find me up about 6:30. Even earlier might be wise, but I don't think that would matter in winter in the same way, so long before dawn, so it's not a firm year-round goal to insist on earlier.
Took the last anti-viral earlier today.
Tomorrow, I have my appt. When I get home, it's laundry day for drip dries. Also, assuming dr gives me the green light, I want to call dgdC and plan sewing time sessions this week.

I notice the days are shorter and by 8 - 8:30 days are getting a lot less lite.
And in the morning it is getting lite later too.
Still 90's in the day time mid day how ever so I cannot shift tasks like I would if it's cooler.

I did watch the videos and I have mixed feelings. It is so goal focused, high achiever type motivation. I have no real goals, except to figure out what my life is supposed to be like now. I need motivation to just do the basic things, WHB, extra projects, finish up the estate things that I've let fall to the wayside. I don't need motivation to set a big career goal.
Before I took the dgrands' home, I did do the Sunday chores, and talked to my dmom... and when I got home, I took the trash to the road. But then...
Tears...
~~~ Really needing some grief counseling here... I'm struggling with a lot of guilt right now. I should put this in my MO thread -- The First Year...
I would welcome any insights y'all might have.
Tonight's post is in the
first post over there -- at the end. The rest of that is just stuff from April that I copied and pasted. Maybe y'all will just think I'm crazy, or letting my mind run away with me, but today has been a hard day.
