I feel so much better after reading all your comments and suggestions, and I am definitely going to put some of this in action.
After the rush is over and I have my nervous breakdown that no one is going to deprive me of...

(I'm kidding!!!)
I honestly feel pretty good as far as I am not feeling particularly
depressed or anything, I'm just frustrated with myself a lot of the time.
Now, don't take that to mean I'm "over" the grief part. I miss dh terribly; I still feel kinda angry and have the thoughts about how unfair it is, and if I sit around and take time to think about my situation, I can end up crying at most any point of the day -- but as y'all can see, the past few days there hasn't been much time to think about anything. And I am grateful for that.
Today, one of my cousins came by and visited for a couple hours or more. It was nice to see her; she has a more-than-full life with adult son/DDIL/two grands and an extremely busy husband who is self-employed. She is about to retire from her job in a week or so, and she just said she had been thinking of me and just wanted to let me know and take time to check in on me. She is not one of the cousins I think "neglect" me -- those are on my dad's side. This cousin is on my mom's side; our grandmothers were sisters. We're only a year apart in age and we've been close all our lives.
ANYWAY --
Harriet's comment was one of my favorites:
lucylee, if I had a parade, a ball game and two funerals to attend over the weekend and still thought I needed to make it to a church service as well, I would be downright sad about it all.
Actually -- it was TWO parades!!! Last night was the high school homecoming parade; today was the elementary school "Constitution Day Parade." Grades Pre-K through 4th circled the blocks around the school shouting "USA" and wearing paper plate Uncle Sam masks and hats. * However, a group of little boys were chanting, "I hate this! I hate this!" (It was pretty hot at 12:45 this afternoon.)
OH -- and you left out the community pep rally last night, where we sat on the concrete bleachers and watched groups of cheerleaders from mini-midgets to varsity, plus the dance team, do their little routines, and the homecoming court was announced, along with the grand marshal.
That WAS special -- the secretary at the school and cheerleader sponsor has given up cheerleaders after 31 years. She has been battling throat cancer and has had a hard time, while still working as much as possible. The class sponsor and one of her former cheerleaders introduced her and told a little about her contributions to the cheerleaders and the school as a whole, and there were tears. I was so glad to see that she was chosen. They asked all the girls who had cheered for her to sit on the track and there were lots of pictures, probably at least 30 of those girls/now young ladies were able to be there.
DGD and I went to the game tonight with DS and DGS, who were on the field. DDIL has worked 6 nights this past week and after Constitution Parade, she was DONE.
We lost by 3 points, so it was kinda a heartbreaker of a game.
Then DS took DGS to the middle school DANCE

(we're all amazed he wanted to go) and DGS proclaimed that he was not going to actually dance; he didn't like to dance... and DS and I gave him strict instructions that was fine, but if a girl asked him to dance, he must not hurt her feelings, he must make an effort to dance with her. DS said, "It's not likely it will happen, but if it does, you better give it a try."
In 6.5 hours I have to be at ds' house to go to the funeral. I guess I should turn in.
I'm trying to cuop on posts, but I think I'll do better when this weekend is over. Much love to ALL of you -- have a great Saturday!
