No I do not can em I put in pb jars and freeze em only put 3/4 full.

I had to wear a hoodie today it was chilly out at 10 a.m.

46* / 69* today's temps.
Had to ice my back and learn hot to wind a bobbin, I've been using pre-filled ones and needed a diff. color. Can you say learning curve. Now I can look and see what colors I have for some other projects.

I am thankful to be home and have all periodontal surgeries over with. It wasn't a bit fun but i got through it. Now all that happens is letting time pass. I am not supposed to do anything for the next several days. I am setting a 100-hour goal (Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 5:40 pm) to be off the strong pain meds. Let the healing begin! I hope it is a boring process.

Glad you're home and on the road to recovery, LadyM. And you're done! Take care of yourself this weekend and let the kiddos fend for themselves!

We're dressed for temple and meeting friends for a (very) early dinner. She also has to be there early so we'll all get good parking spaces at least. Dreading the fast day and people. I never went out to get noodles so I'll need to do that tomorrow on the way to or from temple.

what a great idea d Nancy!!!
have a good evening

hi d twins have a great evening yourself!

hi d lady glad you are home - praying that the discomfort passes fast!!! Yes, "let the healing begin"! Not boring at all - we care for you!!! So glad this process is done for you!

mom is getting cranky about drinking water - she doesn't get that she completely forgets. I don't blame her for being frustrated - she also was not thrilled that her car wasn't perfect on the inside - but it is still beautiful on the outside and all the windows are great! I think she thought it was going to get detailed.

She is a bit cranky so I will get her some Gatorade or water.

my cousin will be eating dinner with mom tonight. I just have to order the food for the two of them. I am hoping to put mom's meds in a hiding spot so that my cousin can give her the night time meds. (it's very sweet - cousin even bought my mom her favorite sweets)
it is always a joy to be here with you!

May there be a meaningful commemoration of this Yom Kippur holiday for Twins' and family, tonight and following.

((LadyM)) every day getting better. Comfort, comfort, rest, rest.

I wanna go to the sewing retreat at Nancy's house. Might be a bit too long a drive.

Car repair done and someone brought it home and took the truck for some less expensive work to be done. When I realized this had happened, all I could think was ohmigoodness, just how much did that brake job cost if we got free vehicle drop-off and pick-up out of it. Yipes. HRH manages to make these deals.

But he has also been on a very high horse, and quite vocal, today dealing with a pharmacy mistake/issue. This pharmacy, which is the one that goes by 3 initials as a name, has gone over to a policy of only call-backs if you want to talk to a pharmacist. This is quite a surprise - we were used to being on hold, perhaps, but never being unable to talk to anyone. Since he has an odd problem with this that we can't understand, he does really have to talk to someone. So, Friday afternoon, with all doctor's offices getting ready to close for the week and suddenly he is told, basically, to get off the phone and wait. :o He was just delightful about it. Juuuust delightful.

Well, today started rough. REALLY rough. TMI, but it involved a stomach emergency and washing the bottom sheet. I’m embarrassed even though I’m alone. But I’ve been leaving off the Benefiber, just to see what effect that would have. New doctor agreed that it could be beneficial for my problems, but cautioned about drinking too much water with it. So I thought maybe I am drinking too much when I take it, and I’ll just leave it off for awhile. Still taking the Bentyl which is supposed to help with “urgency.”
I also must admit, supper last night was ridiculous— I had a fried chicken on a stick, with onions, baked beans, and an order of fried mozzarella sticks. Onions are a known “trigger” for me.
At any rate, all this happened between 7-9 this morning. I took a shower and went back to sleep on the couch and slept most of the day, till ds brought Dgd over.

Since then, she and I have been to the bank for dmom, the post office, and then TA-DA — we went to the car wash and washed and vacuumed the Tahoe.
We had supper at McDonald’s, drove the truck for its weekly outing, and she has had her bath.

LadyM, I am so glad your dental work is all over!!! Praying for speedy recovery. (((Hugs)))
Tomorrow is another day.

I'm home for about 40 hours and then heading back. The car will recharge in that time.

Dgs3 comes tomorrow at 10ish and will stay here overnight. I'll load the car up with my cottage stuff and him and head back up to the cottage with a one hour detour to drop off dgs at home. Then I'll stay up for 6 days.

I did get to see the northern lights last night but they were only white streaks not the colours seen here in the city. My phone isn't good enough to catch anything but I could certainly see why the natives thought they were the shadows of the ancestors dancing around a heavenly fire. I drove out to the highway and parked at the hydro line access to watch them. Geez it is hard to get the inside lights off in a tesla. There's the screen, floor lighting and the exit button on the door is lit. I ended up putting the screen in 'cleaning' mode which made it almost all black, and unlocking the doors got the other lights off for me. I rolled down my window and listened for wildlife but I stayed in the car.

The fox at the property are human fed, that's why I wasn't too panicky about them (if it was a truly wild fox then I'd be afraid it was rabid.) There's a whole family of them and it is year after year of being tossed hotdogs by my landlord's ex husband, so they are being tamed over many generations. For that matter, I'm feeding them to a certain degree since I toss the dead mice under the trees by my cottage.

Anyway, the fox stood watching me as I unplugged the car and got in. When I got home, it ran alongside the car while I came down the driveway, just as a dog would.

I stayed up until midnight watching the tesla robotaxi event. It was a nothing-burger.

I got away at noon today and was home at 4:30 due to a stop for a breakfast sandwich at 1:30 and then at Costco to get some food, including a roast chicken for my dinner tonight and Sunday plus I've frozen the dark meat to make a casserole some day.

Since getting home I've done up the laundry, unloaded the car, tidied up the storage locker and put some of the cottage stuff in there, took the recycling down to the garbage room and picked up mail. Plus some flyers from the recycle bin in the mail room. I need more paper to start fires. Also more cardboard so I collapsed some empty boxes and put them in the car. Dh won't be happy because the car seat box was one of them but the car seat takes up less room in the locker if it isn't in the box. Saving empty boxes is one of his compulsions. I try to empty cupboards of them when he's away so he doesn't realize they are gone. It is the only way I can get the out of here. I tend to keep a box for 3 - 6 months after buying an item in case it needs returning. After that, I figure the box isn't necessary.

There are a number of items in the locker that we can't use but dh won't consider getting rid of. I will need the room for the cottage items I'm keeping for next year so I'm hoping I can convince him to get rid of some of the stuff. I'm still not sure how I'm going to absorb everything back into the apartment. Some things had spot before (like the extra towel sets) so they will go back to their assigned spots. But other things, like the stool for the dock, are new and large.

Dh is all about acquiring STUFF. He's had two skirts made for me in the village. I don't need any, agreed to one, but he can't resist the fabrics so has bought a dozen different patterns of cloth, in 3 - 5 yard amounts and is bringing them home. I explained that I like them but they will just end up in a cupboard because I have no need or plan for them. I'm trying so hard to simplify my life and he's so complicating it. And I already have 4 batches of cloth from previous trips, plus my skirt and dress from his last trip.
