I am being respectful with mom - I didn't argue with her and was respectful.
She wanted to stay home and we spoke about what she can have for lunch as the building restaurant is busy and not answering - I knew she had spaghetti and meatballs in there from yesterday. and I had shopped with her yesterday- rarely does she eat the food in the fridge. She forgets to eat or drink many times. " I take care of of myself" "I know where the restaurant is and can get myself there if I need" sigh

I am glad she feels capable today.
We are going to try out the care program for morning and evening on the day after Thanksgiving. I have to fill out the contract today. They want mom's signature but she will say no. My brother has the power of attorney so I will have him do it.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hope it goes well with your dmom, bw2. I know it can be a struggle sometimes. I had the POA for my mother so could deal with most things. As I turned out, I was the child still alive at the end.
I'm in the dog house here. Ds had a new computer shipped here. He's not at home during the day of course, and didn't want his $2500 gaming computer outside on his porch. I knew it was coming today but was upstairs when the doorbell rang and I didn't have my phone with me, so didn't hear it call me. And our doorbell isn't ringing inside the house. So it got here, the doorbell called dh's phone also and he was able to receive the computer by speaking with the delivery person. But then he called me (phone still downstairs, I was upstairs) and I didn't answer, so he came home to get it off our porch. Anyway, I'm in the dog house for not hearing the phone either time. And he was eating food in front of me and the kitchen smells good.
s
I need to do five things. (no judgement, please, this is a weird day.)
-brush teeth, water pik etc.
-reboot laundy
-make the bed
-shower to shoes
-start the roomba
I am all over the place today.

Did some shopping at Walm art. Spent time looking around the store for things that would come under the heading of "Christmas baking needs" and couldn't find anything other than what is normally in the baking aisle. I knew I was going to Bulk Barn (in the same parking lot) so I didn't stress it. Found the cherries easily at BB. The cashier and I had a conversation regarding how they will be running out of seasonal stuff early like they do every year. She has had many people tell her that they can't find Christmas baking supplies in Walmart. I also picked up some stuff for dh to try to get some Christmas shopping done early. He and I had a talk regarding stockings earlier.

I really am all over the place. Almost lightheaded.
I can't shower until the towels, now in the dryer, are done. I don't want to get out other set and then have to fold and put away later.
The dog is on the bed and considering how much she's been harassing me, I'm not bothering her right now. I'll s2s later and make the bed then.

~~~ waving Hello to all~~~~
(((Harriet, LucyLee, Twins))) all deserve virtual (((Hugs))) today as they are dealing with extra challenges.
My night sleep was broken up with dealing with DS16. His girlfriend broke up with him and he was beside himself with emotions all over the place. They had been together for 6 months. He will find his way through this pain, but it isn't easy.
wont creature dig up your raised bed when thay smell it?
Oh I hope not. I watered the pelleted rabbit food so it became small particles. The raised beds are knee high, so critters must be able to jump into them. I have never had any critter in my raised bed other than moles/gophers digging underneath.
What have you been putting off? Today's the day. Make it happen!
Done! We went to our first dance class today. I kept talking myself out of going to it for a variety of reasons. Today was the day that we made it happen. We haven't danced for years so everything felt mentally familiar but physically awkward. Today we learned
the electric slide. I absolutely loved it. I didn't realize until today that dancing is such a good activity for the brain. I think it will help us both. Typically they have dances 2 times a week but with the holiday season upon us they will be reducing the number of classes.
Has anyone else started baking for the holidays yet
Well, sorta. Just not baked by my hands. I bought a Thanksgiving dessert from a local lady who is known for her pumpkin rolls. I just ordered Thanksgiving meat from our favorite local BBQ fella. I would never choose to make this, but I know he does unparallel quality. I am trusting that the uniqueness will turn out to be a good experience. Our Thanksgiving meat will be - smoked Cajun turkey stuffed with chicken and sausage Creole gumbo. Turkeys are 10 to 12 pounds before stuffing. And comes with a 4 pound roll of Cajun smoked baloney
LadyM… a friend and I went to a park event that had tents set up every where. The big draw was Lou Rawls was going to perform and had a table set up where he personally was selling his CD’s. I stopped to talk with him a while as I have always been a fan. You know that big low voice he can sing in? When he talks he sounds the same way. He was a very nice man.
Walking around we found a Tent where there was dancing going on. They were playing the Electric Slide. My gf knew how to do it, but it was a little black mentally challenged girl who talk me the dance.
The Electric Slide is a line dance and played at many wedding cause every one seems to know how to do it. Whenever we have an entertainment night with music in my community, you can bet it will be played.
And at the last school I taught at every Friday afternoon a half hour before it was time to go… I would put my boombox out in the hall and we all, teachers and kids and sometimes the principal would dance to YMCA, the Cha Cha slide and the Electric Slide. It was a great way to end the week. I miss those days
