Good gracious, I am glad to be home!
I
taught supervised ddil's class while DGS led the lesson... then church (sermon was on worry, "Do Not Be Anxious." Perfect topic for me, but I had trouble staying awake.
Went to lunch at Mexican restaurant where I thought they had a buffet. Should have left when we found out the didn't. Let the man talk dgd into a cheesy chicken and rice thing, when she only wanted rice and beans. Let DGS order a WHOLE tilapia -- yes, with the eye looking out at us -- but thank goodness he loved that and BTW, he has already finished off the chicken & rice that dgd didn't eat. I got a taco salad which had nothing but lettuce and cheesy meat. Needless to say, I was pretty aggravated at the whole place, and it cost over $46 plus the tip.
Home long enough for dgs to change clothes, then took him home, and dgd and I went to the baby shower, where I only knew a very few people, and was really just peopled out after the 90 minutes we stayed there. We left as soon as a few others did, but we did get to see the girl open our gift. She had a table full of gifts still remaining and I do believe I might have lost my mind if we'd stayed to see her open every one of those gifts.
In case y'all missed the explanation, the mother of the baby is a former student, her mom a former co-worker, and her dad played football for dh. I am thankful they think enough of me to want to stay in touch, but I had a headache and I was tired and I just wanted to be home.
I think I'm going to stay home and eat chicken noodle soup for supper and wrap up in my grandmother's quilt.
Also... the new shoes I bought do not fit and I am going to have to go to Next Town, return them, and try to find something that fits. My black shoes are scuffed, and the sole is separating. I literally glued it back together this morning. Sheesh.
Oh (((Mystery))) -- 12 pages of paperwork for the doctor! Yuck. But with your BP doing like this, it is good you are going. Hope you feel better soon.
I need to go BACK to the road and put some more garbage in. I guess I need the extra steps anyway. I forgot about the chicken fingers that have been in the refrigerator since Wednesday. And some watermelon that is probably past it's "best by" date. It seems like I throw out so much food. I think I want fruit, but I never eat it in time.
Speaking of football, I went to sleep during our game yesterday, but thank goodness we finally won. This season has done nothing to make me regret the fact that I have not been taking these dgrands to College Town every weekend. It's very frustrating. Dbil's children don't want or can't use his extra two tickets to the end of season rivalry game with that Other Team in our state. He wanted to know if DS might want them. Ha! I haven't asked D's, but I am pretty sure he is not going to want to pay the unreasonably expensive cost for those tickets. The Other Team isn't having a great season, but they are 99% likely to beat us.
Hope y'all have a good night and the week ahead is great!
