LadyM … I think that’s a great idea. When my son was growing up we always had sit down meals. And Sweetie and I still do.

With your DD, it’s not unusually for kids who may be on the spectrum to only eat certain foods and nothing else. It usually has to do with the texture of the foods. Some of my kids even had problems using the feel of metal spoons and certain cups. And Mac and cheese and chicken fingers or nuggets seem to be a favorite at well. Same with regulating how much food they eat. Be interesting to hear what her counselor suggests.

Finally I am feeling better!

Drinking my 1/2 regular 1/2 decaf coffee. Switched to milk instead almond milk to be safe. Ate my bowl of oatmeal. However the thought of other food like salads make me gag. I made some chicken noodl soup last night and could eat it, so that what I’m going to eat today

I was able to drink water last night so will slowly start back with it today. My body is happy with the way I was eating before my trip and this past week problems and was showing good results. I only gained 2 lbs while away which I was pleased with, and am looking forward to going back to the way I was eating

I was eating salads before my trip but right now that have absolutely has no appeal to me at all.

I find it fascinating to read about the changes that can be made and how the body responds.

We have decided to try eating 2 meals a day instead of 3. We won't know if it works better for us unless we try. Our plan to try this week......DH will have a yogurt (15g protein) early in the morning to stabilize his blood sugar. We will have our first meal after 10am. Our 2nd meal will be early evening. The timing of the 2nd meal will be floating to accommodate DS16 & DD13 activities.

Posting for accountability.

I had a blunder yesterday. I was doing a weekly type of task - making a half dozen sandwiches for the teens using freshly baked deli buns.
While making the sandwiches I cut off the end of one and took a bite.
The bread was so fresh, tasty, and had perfect consistency.
A bite led to eating 1/4 of a sandwich.
Eating 1/4 of a sandwich led to eating a whole sandwich.
The result? The scales bounced up 2.5 lbs today.
So predictable. I know how my body responds to processed carbs. It was a poor decision on my part.
Life goes on.

((LadyM)), you know you did not eat enough calories in those sandwiches to gain 3.5 lbs. Your body will shed those lbs quickly. Dh told me he gained 8 lbs in NYC. You know your body and you're doing just fine. Occasional blunders are to be expected because we're not perfect and we want variety.

My weight is at the lower end of where I usually am, finally. I've seen this number in recent months but not for more than a day or two. Third jab was yesterday, no side effects. I do feel more control and that I feel full sooner - or maybe am hearing my body better. I have a bag of Lindt chocolates in the pantry (dh bought at Costco on Saturday) and can have one or two a day and leave it at that, instead of eating the bag today.

Posting to keep focus on TAKING CARE OF MYSELF.

Eating at set times is not working well for me. I do better when I am listening to my body and don't eat when I am not hungry. I am not counting it as a failure but a learning experiment. I will continue to cook and prepare food for the family.

I am making a game of moving my body each of the 14 hours today. Let the fun begin!

I walked yesterday.
On track today with getting my steps in today so far yea for that reminding myself I need to do a basement walk around. Did that/
steps are down with colder temps not feeling as good this week. Frosty outside and leaves are winding down. Still walking just not as much.
Eating sigh... not so good this week.

Posting to keep my focus on TAKING CARE OF MYSELF.

My weight bounced up and then back down after a couple days. Good News.
Not the best news....I have not lost any weight this month.
I continue to track everything I eat after the first bite. I weigh most things when I am at home but yesterday luncheon out was an estimate of how much of each food item that I ate. I have become fairly good at knowing how many grams food weighs now, so my estimate was close.

Yesterday I did 7 out of 14 hourly movements. I am going to try to match or beat that today. My hip locked up twice yesterday, so I am not pushing myself with on total daily steps right now. I just want to keep my body frequently moving.

Did fine with limited calories yesterday - I think the walnuts were helpful. Today, cashews are a part. I'll be sticking to less than 800 calories daily until Saturday for a total of 5 days. Then bread, pasta or rice meals added to veggie soups for a while after that, to get back to normal meal sizes with an eye to tummy-comfort. :) Have been grateful for others who have written about their experiences with modest eating for this purpose.

I'll need some food-travel plans for tomorrow. (future days won't keep me away from home as long as tomorrow - it's a take-it-slowly day.) Dd26 left some Bento-box type small containers here that I might use for my own little recipes. If another grocery trip could happen, I found a mini asparagus soup recipe that is recommended for low-calorie days, made creamy by blending with potato. But even though I have asparagus, that will depend upon getting some broccoli or cauliflower in the house - don't have any and I hate to go too far afield from a new recipe.

It's funny how you start craving. Thinking about these veggie soups in small quantities, I remembered my great big pot of Corn Chowder that used to warm me and the older children up so well on cold days/weeks. Definitely going to check that out for a regular meal soon. I think it had a good bit of dairy, so I will be pondering the recipe. As I recall, HRH took one look at the consistency and made a face, lol, so I may have to make plans to give some away.
