Good job, Cathy. My bathroom closet (very small, hard to work in) needs work for sure. If something falls from shelf to floor, you wonder where you're supposed to put your own posterior in order to retrieve it!.

Dove, you are getting so much done. I hope the storage containers work out. Yes, the shedding will turn into the reason for the appt tomorrow! In the night, one of the things keeping me up was that a stray hair (or several) would actually get into my eye or down my back. Twice in the night I took a relatively wide-tooth comb through it in the bathroom, just trying to keep my pillow clear. Good gracious, the new experiences we end up having as we go through life.

Nancy, have a great time at your dson's.

All indoor plants are finished with their watering. Extra laundry started. Some recycling started.

I filled dstepdil's jar container (she sent a food present in it) with lemon drops candy to return to her, and also put dried bay leaves into a cute-labeled bag for her.

I've enjoyed making a template for a mug rug this morning. I thought it up in the night and then looked for it online this morning. Found some photos similar that have a shape a little less fussy than what was in my head. So, I've made a template in the simpler way, to see if I like it just as well. I have the first part cut out. Pondering the second - more than one way to solve. These are, I think, going to be for the first birthdays of the new year.

lucylee, that paragraph from me just above is the "how" I keep my mind on happier things - no kidding, creativity is a wonder for getting a smile out of you, getting you to sort of forget yourself, play a little. Oh, who am I kidding - play a lot.

Getting ready.......hum....
The thing that messes me up is making plans during my down times. I am on Christmas break with about half of normal daily responsibilities and doings. When I think about making plans now during this calm & quiet time, it is easy to plan to add lots of commitments and doings. At church this morning I was about to sign up to make 4 crockpots of soup (one a week) for January meals. I am low stress and activities right now so making extra meals seems easy thing to sign up to do. However, when I return to doing homeschooling & public-school activities with the teens then all my free time evaporates. Add in DH constant monitoring and somedays are a struggle to take care of my basic must-do's
So....I am hesitating because planning to do more seems unlikely and unwise of me.
My future plans are.....
** to enjoy and fully embrace where my feet are at (borrowing from LL).
** do the best I can with the mental/physical resources I have available.
That is my plan.

Lunch ingredients were pulled pork, potatoes, tomatoes, and pak choi.

I am eliminating a bi-weekly activity from my future plans. It took me a bit to put 2 + 2 together and realize they are related.
We started taking dance lessons twice a week.
I started experiencing random times of my hip locking up when I walked.
We stopped taking dance lessons because of the holidays.
The hip pains have disappeared.
Decision made - I am not going to resume dance lessons.

Dropping dance lessons sounds like a logical plan, LM, to reduce your stress and going here and there during the week. Also, I like this:

LM, we are here to support you!

Nancy, I hope you're having fun at ds's for belated Christmas.

Some creativity for you is perfect, Harriet. Keeps your mind busy with something productive that is still thinking. So sorry about strays, also.

Good for you, Cathy, on the closet! Way to set an example for the rest of us! ;)

Of course you're anxious, LL. First holidays w/o dh and a biopsy on your mind. (You'd be crazy not to be anxious  ) I hope your docs can help you sort it out tomorrow.

Waving at Dove, who is being quite productive. I don't want to get in her way and catch what she has.

And waying to bw2, with her week planned out so nicely!

Had a bit of excitement but all is calm now.

DS16 has called and dropped by to talk about a half dozen times this afternoon. I have learned to take my phone everywhere I go (even to bathroom!) because it is most likely going to ring. DS16 is coordinating with mechanic that is putting new rear end in one of his pickups. The mechanic needed some more parts and I approved DS16 using our CC to purchase them. DS16 will pay us back when he gets paid next week. This prompted another conversation about running so close with his money and better ways to manage money in future. DS16 took girlfriend to Olive Garden this week and the bill for the 2 of them to eat was $80. He was a bit shocked. Life lesson....eating out cost money. Be prepared for it or make different choices.

In anticipation of DS16 pickup repairs being finished later today or tomorrow..... I went online to add it back on our insurance policy and printed out insurance cards for it.

I made a quick high protein smoothie. 100g plain Greek yogurt, 36g chocolate whey protein powder, water. It ended up being 204 calories & 39g protein. Easy. Quick. The downside is protein powder is processed food. Pick your battles. I'm not picking that one today.

RR....where are you? I hope your not experiencing migranes or difficult moments.

I think some of our keys aren't working or something? How did it not translate to bold and quote?

I still have the donwannas, exacerbated by the extreme busy-ness of the last days. Being out so many evenings with so many people really throws me off.

I'm poring over the HOA website and invoicing and payment options for the HOA dues. I need to be sending invoices now, but am waiting for the gal who does our website (for free!) because of so many questions. I must invoice in Quickbooks to get the accounting. I could send a physical invoice from QB or email an invoice with instructions to pay on the website. If I'm invoicing on the website, I can send an emailed invoice that links to where they'll make payment. In theory, I could invoice in QB by making a journal entry in software and recording payments as deposits. I could also use the invoicing via website, maybe next year, and abandon QB altogether and use a Excel worksheet, except for QB's ability to print checks. Utilities are paid automatically, so some months in the winter I only have to write one check to the yard people. OTOH, OTOH, OTOH. I can argue with myself indefinitely and there are too many unknowns. I need to get together with her soon. My mind is cranking through the options. Once I know more, I might bounce it off of dneighbor who is a CPA and was treasurer before me.

Dh walked the dog this a.m. and I walked her a few minutes ago. I've been freezing all day and it turns out it's 59 degrees outside, it's just that the wind is blowing and it looks dreary out.

I poked around with a little genealogy also, and ran a pellet through the dishwasher and descaled the coffeemaker and napped.

I have been sitting and stitching at the kitchen table while dh watched the Buffalo/Jets game.

I just turned the washing machine on. I also emptied the dishwasher.

Because dh had a huge burger for lunch, he's not hungry. Instead of the meatloaf I had planned with baked potatoes, now we are going to have a box of macaroni and cheese.
