Productive, but I realized I HAD to get the soup going in the crockpot. It goes 6 to 8 hours (eek!) on low with beef chuck, barley and dried porcini mushrooms. Best part is that it all gets dumped in the crockpot, stirred, and then walk away. It's from NYT - gift link to recipe: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/102 ... =share-url

I just heard garage door opened by dh, coming home for lunch. Will restart at 12:30 and try again.

Bookie! We do hope to see you more often in the new year!

I slept in this morning. This is the last day that everyone is in vacation mode; DH returns to work tomorrow. I think DD goes back to work on Tuesday, but it might be Monday. I can’t remember when DC’s new semester starts.

No undecorating here. I don’t take anything down until the twelve days are over. Growing up, though, we took everything down on the first of the year. My mom wanted it done before she went back to work.

I need to do wash, and my bed really needs to be stripped all the way down and properly made up for winter. We’ve just been throwing a thick blanket over the top, but everything needs to be put back in the proper order. Too often the blanket finds its way too far to one side or the other.

Wish me luck! I am trying to start Adderall again and hope that it was not the cause of my itching. I have a couple of antihistamine gel caps in my pocket in case I do show a reaction. But I really, really want this to work.

Off to start the wash now!

Bookie - glad to see you!

(((Harriet))) Keeping you in my thoughts. BWTG with knowing what and when to make the treatment work the best.

We are home from a quick trip to the city. We now have 3 prescriptions and $300+ of food/drinks.
No starving teens happening here.
what are you reading
I'm guessing reading blogs, social media posts and this forum doesn't count?

I wonder if I can put my feet up for an hour and watch something on Netflix? I'm going to try it.

Ugh. The website/invoicing/set up issues have raised their ugly head. The gal who set up the website - and did it for free, BTW, assured me that we could do this, but has no idea how to work out some of the issues. We have to get our account approved for "outgoing" payments back to us, and must have a way to add credit card fees to the payments. Otherwise, we lose money. So I must make that phone call and try to get it figured out.

I still have not finished clearing the kitchen island, particulary since I peeled carrots and onions and put ingredients into the crockpot on it. That will finish a.m. routine.
-kitchen island clean up
-Clean CPAP stuff that did not get replaced.
-take out kitchen garbage
-straighten bathroom and mbr
-clean the egg on the stovetop
-make DPC

I'm ambitious today. Getting a lot done, but sidetracked a lot too. Not getting much of the Hanukkah things put away but I will. Maybe tomorrow.

Thinking of Harriet and her infusion today and hoping all is going well.

LM, I know what you mean about buying the processed stuff for the kids. It was same here. They are better away now of what they eat.

Exhausted after 3 hours of cleaning has only resulted in the living room and dining room looking better but only at 95%, not 100.

Not sidetracked, but niggly things needed addressing and those added to the work. Things like adjusting the drapes in front of the patio doors so they are now on either side (in summer they are on one side only to avoid being sucked into the open screen) and trying to fix a string of white lights (which are now part of the 5% still to be dealt with, they need to find a storage home.)

I need to fold a load of laundry and put the Christmas linens in it, into the final bin to go to the basement.

I ordered dgd's present which should arrive tomorrow.

Tonight is pub night for the complex where we meet over at a pub. I'd rather not go but dh really wants to go. My issue is that he'll want to share fish and chips for dinner and I'm trying to have a couple of days eating healthily before bloodwork. I'm simply giving up on that but I did point out to dh that he's sabotaging me.

Well, my first laundry load of the new year turned out to be the last laundry load of the old year. (I had left clothes in the washer.) Rewashed those, got them into the dryer, and started a new wash. Had some lunch, dealt with the mail, and listened to DD regale us on her progress in a game.

I’m miffed with DC. They finally showed their face and promptly said they needed to get to the college for rehearsal for their holiday play, which was supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago, but their director got Covid, and then the campus was closed for the holidays. The play is happening tomorrow and Saturday, so they expect today’s rehearsal to go quite late. Ironically, their being at the college is getting in the way of getting them registered for the new semester. :x Not only should they have been registered long since, but since they don’t know their schedule for the semester, I don’t know mine. Theoretically, it’s possible for them to take public transit to get to school, but it involves switching between two county systems that don’t mesh really well. And I want to find some time of day that both kids are available so I can give them things to work on together.

I need to get back to the wash.

Weekly hike done 98% of my steps are done for the day.
Doing laundry helps with stairs no need for a stair-master here! LOL!
Lunch later taking a breather now.
Sheets are dry folded and put away.

I agree, Kathryn, it's the "other" stuff that comes up along the way. "While I'm here I should...."

Time for the DPC. If I had known she didn't know how to set this up, I would have thought twice about it. Since the bank info and payment etc. is "confidential" she says, she never does it.

So apparently there's no phone number only the AI chat bot. Getting worse and worse.
