We are having a cool overcast day with off and on showers

I’m having a screwy day. Our internet just been turned back on due to an outage in our area. Lost it last night at 6:00pm

My morning routines are done and footprint put away. I have several loads from yesterday to fold and put away. Still not 100% as my energy level still isn’t there. I did have another hour nap yesterday that tells me I’m still in recovery mode.

LadyM… food and teens… sounds just like my home many years ago. Just as a side note… I loved having my sons friends over at my home as it meant I knew what he was doing and gave me the opportunity to know his friends

In fact many of his friends… boys and girls still stay in touch with me and have told me how much they loved being in my home growing up and have thanked me for giving them a place to go where they felt welcome

Worth all the food.. pizza, brownies and pancakes.. that disappeared from my kitchen 😘

I knew what he was doing and gave me the opportunity to know his friends
The bright side of DS16 calling me a dozen or more times a day is knowing what he is doing and chatting with his friends. I just got off the 3rd call from him this morning. His calls always start with "You are on speaker phone with >insert names of friends<<< so no cussing"
I very rarely cuss (once a year?) and everyone knows that so this is said in a lighthearted way to let me know which of his friends are with him at that moment.
So....what is DS16 and friends up to during this call? Letting me know they are hauling potta-potties and delivering about 20 miles away..
Who knows how they got into doing this. The last I heard they were going to the auto part store.
They all have jobs so being off on Saturday gives them time to pick up quick random jobs and they all like the challenge of doing something they have never done before.
Talking with DS16 & friends almost always includes light hearted joking. I asked which one of them was going to volunteer to ride inside the potta potties to ensure they are securely tied down while they were going down the road. That set them off onto a laughter daring & egging each other to volunteer to do that.
Hopefully they will continue to have good clean fun. (yes, I asked if the potta potties were clean or used. they are clean.)

rose - your idea of putting the cloths in the bathroom was brilliant - mom is dressed - she didn't even think twice about the cloths. thank you! it worked today! she is much happier. thank you! great idea.

hello d rose - sorry your internet went out! yay on morning routines being done!
it's so fun meeting the friends - I can only imagine having a wonderful group of boys over - my nephews had hallow legs in their teen years - so fun.

hi d lady!!! so funny that you needed additional food! I l can imagine the food disappearing!
cheering on your day!

hi d cathy yay on doing your pots etc. and your laundry work! so cute that the label from mattress makes a good bookmark!!!

d twins "the beast" oh my gosh toooo funny and so true!!!
glad you got some sun!
your dh makes me smile - we dont' have anyone for us to inspire shoveling - our one neighbor is out in the middle of the night shoveling - it bothers him and dh said that he can be on his own. 8-) dh no longer shovels and he is happy as pie that he doesn't

I agree with d twins, Kathryn!!!!

dogs have now given me both their bowls

I had thought I might start our day early, but my computer was off-line through the morning.

No loss of power otherwise, though. Very grateful for that.

I think our snow is melting rather effectively.

Sledding was the activity for ds' whole family in the last few hours of daylight yesterday. They go to the closest school where there is a good slope at the rear of the property. We heard them driving up on their four-wheelers well after dark, bringing me my prescription. Ds looked like an Arctic explorer. He said this might be the only chance around here this year for snow fun and they didn't want to miss it. They had gone not long ago to a location in WVa and had a good time. Seems like quite a drive for it, but they do like adventures.

Dsoninlaw had a much less happy experience yesterday evening trying to get home from work. A 10-car pileup reduced a 3-lane to one lane and caused long delays in the cold. Then he said everyone was slipping quite a bit the last leg home. Dd26' boss had sent all of them home early, which I think was wise. You do want your employees to get back next time your doors open!

Nancy, I had an answer for your gift bag question and lost that. But it was mainly Vaseline original lip balm and Curel daily healing lotion, which were the two nicest gifts in the holiday gift bag I got from the center. They were meant for both men and women.

Heel care - HRH's foot dr recommends cream with urea in it to soften rough heels. HRH just bought the one he said, which may be somewhat medicinal - Kera-42. I remember thinking it was higher priced than others.

I so wanted to report feeling better today, but I guess I'm not there yet. I did call a cousin and left a birthday message.

HRH's mother has taken a fall. J and C. We're waiting to hear and hoping it's not bad.

I got another difficult seam sewn. Probably the highlight of my day to tackle and accomplish. The close work is playing tricks with my eyes, now, so may need a nap.

Home from a trip to local grocery store with DD13.
Local grocery store = 12 miles of driving but the roads are clear now.

I can always utilize a trip to grocery store to restock but my reason for this trip was to get DD13 and myself alone in a vehicle. She is super private and won't say much around "the guys" but will talk freely (aka nonstop) when alone with me. On our way home I casually told DD13 about my conversation with my SHE friends and they were discussing autism and water sensory issues. I asked DD13 if she had ever heard of that connection. DD13 said that it was true for some but not for her. She doesn't have sensory issues with water. So....gradually getting closer to a solution.
I did tell DD13 that her hair has to be clean. If she can't do it then I am considering taking her to beauty shop a couple times a week for them to wash her hair. She is adamantly against that. She doesn't want people touching her.
I think the conversation with counselor this week made a difference. She is washing her hair now. #FingersCrossed

(((Harriet))) I hope everything goes okay.

I have decided that because it's a cold/snowy day, we need a comfort food type of meal. I am making "American" goulash, but I don't have sofrito. I have also run out of peppers from the garden. Instead of a can of tomatoes, I will use frozen tomatoes from this summer's harvest. Some plum tomatoes and some "regular" tomatoes. The ones that are the size of tennis balls. I use Scooby Doo pasta for this. The first time I made this, I only had Scooby Doo pasta and not the elbow macaroni that they call for. Odd that the picture for the recipe shows Scooby Doo pasta, but calls for elbow macaroni. I use Allrecipes for everything I need a recipe for.
