waving d twins
there was definitely magic with d mom - lol not so much with dh ;) but the magic came through for him again!
I hope you love your workout! yay on morning routines!

look at the magic happening at d Kathryn's!

hi d cathy - I love that you have a group that meets for cross stitch, knitting. and crochet! the group that was here for quilting was stopped during covid and never started again. How fun for you!

hi d mystery child labor - I used to tell the girls - ahh putting you to work makes me happy - they would groan and then laugh bc they knew I was being funny. My dd's had dh and I - we are both kind of corny - lol now every so often I will send dd's a corny joke/dad joke. They will send me one as well.

hello do everyone!

d harriet how is your day going?

dh went through a rude moment - after talking to him he apologized. he said he got upset fast. he jumped the gun on something he didn't understand.

Been to class
Played bocci
Ate lunch
Waiting to help Sweetie on his computer.

Blessed…all the things you listed last night like self care and dressing that your mom is having a problem with are all part of the disease. You said in the past you cared for others with the same health issues. Did they not have problems with the same things?

I expect as Sweetie progresses with his, we will be facing the same thing. It’s not that our love ones don’t want to do these things any more, it’s because they don’t remember how to do them or why they need to do it.

I talked with Sweetie’s PA about these issues. Seems problems with body washing and other self care increase as the disease progresses. The anger and frustration that our loved ones displayed when we try to help them is real. And that leads to our… caretakers…frustrations and anger.

Our PT gave several suggestions. There are additional meds that can help Sweetie when this starts to occur. Also to some extent we just have to let them have some control over what they want to do. If sweetie wants to only wear pj’s at some point, I’ll make sure they are new and look good on him. I other words I plan on choosing my battles cause I’m not dealing with someone who is intentionally defying me.

Her other suggestions were pointed to me. Get in touch with support groups to glean ideas from others who are in the same situation as me. She also suggest to seek medication if needed for myself, which I have already done. My sleep was really off because my head was spinning with all my new concerns to the point I wasn’t sleeping well. Sleep is a trigger for my migraines to I need to protect myself with it.

I already take zoloft at night for my migraine cause my mind has always run at night, but I began not sleeping as well. I contacted my dr and asked to increase the dosage to help with my sleep.

My only other thing that I have found to help myself is not to be afraid to talk to my friends about my situation… not they have lots of advise, but I find for myself it helps me to let go of troubling emotions. I am looking for some support groups but there aren’t many in my area. I’m going to ask Sweeties PA if she has any suggestions. Sure there are plenty on line, but I haven’t looked yet

Coming back through. I think I'll like the new workout place. It feels good to get back in a routine, drive wasn't bad (extra five minutes each direction) and I like the people. I was afraid it would feel very bare bones but he's hired a second trainer and has the gal that dh used to workout with also working mornings. Felt like home!

I remembered to drive home the other way and go by CVS - they had two scripts and when I asked they said the Zepbound came in today and I was among those who were to receive it (on the waitlist) and their policy was go ahead and fill it. Only took an extra minute and it's done. I went ahead and walked ddog. I'm at 7900 steps after walking her.

Looking forward to a quiet evening. I bet I sleep well tonight!

Twins - BWTG on meeting your goal with trainer!

I am home from picking up DD13 from school. Discussion in vehicle today was her argumentative essay due tomorrow on whether dinosaurs had feathers. DD13 is excited about writing it and has a plan for each of the arguments, counterarguments, and summary.

My planned trip to grocery store was scratched when DH had stomach problems. Traveling didn't seem like a good idea for him and I didn't want to leave him. So….either I will make a quick trip this evening or early in the morning. OR….there is always plan C.

Home and tired but it was a good day.

mom's dr. appointment went great - sharp as a tack and funny - her a fib is under control - I had him write a note to have her drink more water.
she told him she is going back to Florida. He looked at me and smiled - last month she was so confused with him.

I am having a dilly of a time finding a dr. for her. - I can get her a really good dr. (concierge like she wants) at northwestern University hospital in lake forest but that's about 50 minutes to an hour away.

I am looking at our local hospital and struggling to find a dr. - I thought an internist, like we used to have, but the reviews are a struggle for me to work with.

Mom has always had the best of the best dr. bc of dad's friends who were top drs and surgeons at rush and northwestern. Dad is gone and I don't have connections.
I would love to know what is honest and what isn't.
The heart dr.s office said there was a dr. upstairs - he didn't get the best reviews and he is 62.
finding a good dr. at a smaller hospital is harder than I thought.

waving to you all.

dh apologized for snapping at me this morning -
mom has been really nice all day - she only had one quip and apologized which is unusual. it was a good day for mom and later dh.

dd younger called me being very worried. dd youngers dog acted really sick this morning - dd took him to the vet and they sent him to er vet instead of seeing him -that dr. said they said they didn't have a surgeon or and x ray machine - her dog was lethargic, incase it was a blockage, she went further north and took him to the er vet up there (3rd vet) - he walked in - was "howdy howdy" - "who are you; let me say hello" - barked at dd - happy boy - she said he was a stinker but she is relieved he is ok again - high energy dog! She heard the vet tech and vet laughing when he went out bouncing. (It reminds me of the story of the child that walks in limping on one leg and when they see the dr. that they jump off the table and get the sucker - no problems at all lol)

spoke to my brother and told him that mom had a good visit. He also told me that he loves his new land in the middle of nowhere. He was so happy! I couldn't be happier for him.
