Good afternoon! I almost said “morning.” I lost a chunk of the morning. I got home from dropping DC at school and stopping to fill the front tires (picked up a breakfast sandwich and a mocha while I was out), then I turned on the TV to watch last night’s monologues and finish my mocha. Well, I was drowsy after. (I slept badly last night in addition to needing to get up early.) And I figured I’d take a little nap — next thing I knew, it was 11:30!

Well, since then, I’ve made the bed, done daily tidy of the bathroom, and cleaned my CPAP. (And been regaled by DD about her latest art project.)

It is hovering around 20F here. I am wearing one more layer than I have been. I thought that would prevent me from huddling under the afghan and dozing off, but no. And I need to do laundry more often because I’m practically wearing two outfits a day with all the layers.

Nancy, you’re a whirlwind! (But not the kind that scatters things all over the place.)

Oh, well. Time for lunch now. Hope to be back later.

blessed, the eggshells you walk on can't possibly be under your feet alone. The floor is common area, and you can't be the only one who's to be criticized for the cracking. (Innocent face  :? )

Temps - since I checked late yesterday, that same future forecast has been completely revised. Now the lowest they see us getting, going forward, is 14 instead. But they do see it 3 different times before end of month. Thankfully, the month change to February seems to give us a pretty good increase in nighttime temps and it seems to stay that way - until they revise.

A TADa I forget to list from yesterday - I fixed a toilet all by myself. Of course I'm competent to do that anytime, just proud to handle it when I felt poorly without even asking for help.

Got an online order of small pharma ready.
No sign, not hide nor hair, of any progress on HRH's "lost" (but well photographed at its mistaken destination) package. It is not WMart's fault but that was the original purchase place. A drop shipment of a large pkg through another company, to Fed Ex. The Wmart site has no method of explaining this to them - they have given him no recourse except to explain how he intends to return this "unwanted" item... .. which is, of course, at the Bermuda Triangle taking vacation pics.

Grooming the houseplants and chatting amiably with them. One violet, bless it, had lost a stem of buds, but more are coming on. They all look good - it's their season.

Little snowmen built outside my back door by dgdC. :) In the shade, so only melting today.

I apologized for saying it a couple times - he is happy - there are things that are dangerous - this wasn't one of them. I will look in the machine later when he is not here to see if it actually cracked - I won't say a word if it has - if it didn't I will most likely say something positive to him about it. . it's just a thing. dh really doesn't see things - but he is hard on me if would have done that - he would not be yelling but would not be happy. (my d dad was always good with things like that -he thought that if it isn't done in carelessness or intentionally that it wasn't a big deal - being respectable with people was huge for him but all the other stuff wasn't that important). I agree d harriet - :? same face

d Nancy thank you - it really helps to hear that it happens to others. glad nothing happened with your tv!! thank you for sharing!!!
I hope you have a very good day!

mom has been happy - she is dressed from s2s
has read some
she said she is just watching me work. :D
she helped me clean my sewing machine
it's cute she heard the washing machine on and asked if she had done it right. she feels she did the work - then I am happy.

kitchen is spiffy again

Thanks Mystery Woman
Bw2 glad that was helpful.

That tv still works is on it's last ` trying to decided if I need a 2nd one here.
The can is back from the curb.
I have cleaned out another desk.

I listened to a show and sorted out the next stack of pages for the declawing paper project this week.
Got one more bin full from the shredding in my last round.
I have at least one more sm. tote to do maybe two.
So if it takes two weeks that's okay.
This is great for Jan. focus.

I went through my sewing boxes - years ago I limited my projects to one to work on and one future - well they started building up again - the dreaming never stops. I listed what projects I have and will look at them during the year to see if I actually work on them. I can see one or two patterns that will be going.
my needles/thread/etc. are now separated again. My good sewing scissors are back in their spot.

I have to. be careful as I am feeling a little down - if I don't write down and do mini jobs then I will be stuck. . My ADHD is helping me loose focus.

dh brought groceries in and put on table.

I put a couple more boxes in the garage (on my side) it has been too cold to work in the garage to put them on the shelves - someone filled the shelves again and I think I might need a warmer day to get the shelves ready for the christmas boxes.

the floors in the 3 season room are cold as well. I did what I could for today.

The monthly luncheon with "elderly" friends was a treat. There were 18 of us today. Someone called me a social butterfly because I was talking with friends at multiple tables. I do not consider myself a social butterfly but I was guilty of moving from table to table so I could catch up with the many DFriends lives. They are each just so interesting and I didn't want to waste the opportunity to visit with them and see how they are doing.
The group is going to consider going on a few trips together this year and next year. Details were handed out for a cruise, a train trip and several bus trips. We will each consider the options and decide about the trips in the next few weeks.

LucyLee - i thought it was interesting that two DFriends are considering having operation because of toes being crossed. They will not do amputation, but surgeon will "break" the crossed toes and reset them to be straight. What are the chances that I heard 3 people discuss doing this in a 24 hour period?!

Our weather will be glorious for the next 3 days. Bright sunshine, minimum winds with up to 70F temps. Then we will have 3 days of below freezing going down into single digits. About 80 hours of not getting above freezing. Brrr..... But after that it looks like our weather will return to sorta nice 50ish degrees.

I'm echoing Mystery that I lost part of the day, but it wasn't anywhere near as enjoyable as a nap. I just dithered about things, then needed to hustle to get to appointment at 1 p.m. That included s2s and then a sandwich in the car because I hadn't eaten. Appointment was w therapist - talked about perfectionism - I have so much I feel like I have to do and so much of it is self generated by wanting to feel "in control."

Following appt., I took dressy evening pantsuit to tailor's to get it tailored. I love it that it got taken up - in shoulders and in waist (a little) and length, of course. Will cost 1/3 of what the pantsuit cost but it's worth it to feel like it fits.

I got sidetracked this a.m. trying to decide what to do about HOA dues - I still haven't sent invoices. Yesterday a neighbor paid dues online and shouldn't have. It may get refunded to her because I still can't get our HOA accepted for "outgoing" payments. So I had to hustle and get the other gal to take down the link. I think I asked her last week to do so but she hadn't and I hadn't followed up.

While I was dithering over that, got email about research trip to Richmond and had to make hotel reservation and pay balance for trip.

When I started this morning I had a list of easy to do little things that have been OMM, then I was stopped in my tracks by realizing I perhaps should just send the stupid invoices and tell everyone I need a check. And I need to call support again (I think it's the fourth time...last time it was supposed to be going to an escalation department.)

So right now:
-walk the dog, who is barking at me almost constantly for a walk. (She has been offered a trip to the yard but won't go.)
-make request for customer support callback. Need to be where I can answer the phone and get on computer for that.
-reassess. Probably should email gal who made the payment, then start generating invoices...I'm not sure.

---------------
Did not post before the walk, and I'm back..

blessed, that is what Nancy did in our A C and N thread early this month. I have a sort of list/outline, too, posted on my quilt wall. Maybe should bring that our thread, too. Just had to post a SHEM there. Sitting and sewing has been something I can do.

lucylee, yes, I'm thinking of you but it's very pleased thoughts, because you are finding out, getting info, making sure of paths. It won't be a delightful experience, but it will get you to the next point with knowledge and sensible help from the pros.

LadyM, it doesn't make you a "social butterfly" to make use of chances to chat with friends when they arise. I think of social butterfly as someone who is constantly arranging social doin's, not someone who listens to others!
