I have put clean sheets on the bed except for one pillow case did not make it in the washer.
Fetched the mail it was just junk did not even bring it inside the house.
31* outside feels cold but the good news I have as many steps in as if I'd done my walk already.
Sat and crocheted a section on a hot pad listening to a show. Green now has a white stripe section added to it so now it's white green white
I'll finish it up with more white.
Thinking mopping can wait or I"ll just so the kitchen.
I did get dressed before fetching the mail just in case any of you were wondering.
Lunch is on hold for a bit I just had coffee and hr. ago with whipped cream on it.
Pretending it was a hot cocoa moment.
Learning the new TV system with guide of what is on and the next few hours it a plus.
I have not used the record function yet might for my knit and crochet now show I keep forgetting about.
Waving to all of you sent thoughts and prayers your way in the nite when I was up.
Ddoggo went outside in the back yard.
I drew a bit in my journal today have not done that in weeks.

What a treat to come here and CUOP. This is my favorite place on the internet.
After a homeschool fiasco yesterday, I withdrew my permission for DS16 to do his schoolwork later in the day. Nope, I agree to try it but found out it doesn't work for us. That takes the priority off homeschool allowing other things to fill the hours of his day. Soooooo.....we have returned to what worked for us the last 8 years = DS16 doesn't leave the house until his homeschool assignments for the day are done. He does have the option of doing his homeschool assignments the day before if he has something he wants to do. I have no problem with him working ahead and turning in his assignments early.
I am implementing a daily clean of the 4 bathrooms. I used to clean these everyday but somewhere along the way I stopped. In a perfect world i would have the teens trained to clean their own bathrooms every day. That happened for a while and then .........
We used to pay a house cleaner to deep clean the bathrooms every week. That happened for a while and then......
It seems like I blinked and took my attention off these necessary cleaning tasks and found myself with 4 dirty bathrooms.
Yuck! Without intentional focus & effort it shouldn't be a surprise how embarrassingly dirty the bathrooms can become. One of my many shortcomings or talents (depending on the circumstance) is my ability to ignore things and block them out of my thoughts. The ability to ignore is not a good skill to have since I prefer to have clean bathrooms. ANYway, the bathrooms are back on my daily tracking spreadsheet.
I need to get busy and cook some food. The refrigerator is almost empty of ready-to-eat dishes.

And....I'm coming back through. Will need to walk dog soon. She's outside enjoying the sunshine for a few minutes.
After my workout I picked up pantsuit so that is squared away. Now I just need to do the other stuff on my list. Laundry is rebooted over again.
Whoops, dog is in now and getting pushy about her walk.

Good afternoon! Still cold here. The school DD works at wasn’t in the listings of schools closed, despite this morning being colder than yesterday, so she bundled up, and DH drove her to work, only to discover that the school was indeed closed. When they go back — probably tomorrow; temperatures have now reached the double digits — she is going to have to have a talk with the folks in the office about getting on whatever phone or text or email chain she needs to be on.
LadyM, I had a thought about your hygiene struggles with your DD. I had (and, frankly, still have, though now I think it is more about depression) similar struggles with DC, who, it turns out, was profoundly uncomfortable with the changes of puberty. Might it be a question of body image/not wanting to see herself naked?
Harriet, I do hope the space heater is helping. (And happy birthday to your DD!) I hope all our southern SHEs get seasonable weather soon! (I don’t think we have much hope here in the north.)
I am 90% through with a ta-da for today (yeah, I know, a day late and a dollar short, although it does qualify as a Desk Day item): clearing out our medical binder from a couple of years ago and setting it up for this year. I still have papers to file — a couple for last year’s binder and a couple for this year. Then I can check that off the list!
Oh! And I’ve gotten results back on my biopsy — sort of, at least. Nobody has called to interpret them yet, but they showed up in my medical app. If I’m reading the medical-ese correctly, all is as it should be. Of course, this does nothing to explain the spotting. She scheduled me for a follow-up. I got that through the medical app, too, though a couple of days before the results. Got a notification saying, “Thank you for scheduling your appointment with [practitioner] on [date and time] at [location].” Yeah, I didn’t make that appointment. But that’s how specialists are; they tell you when you’ll see them.

I finally did make the call to schedule surgery. Lady told me yes, I am on her list, she will be calling me, but it will most likely be February or even March before I can be scheduled. She is working through quite a list, apparently.
DS at least this lets me know I am not considered high risk -- NP didn't take my file to her and say, "Get this lady taken care of ASAP because she may have a life-threatening condition!"
I told the lady okay, I would wait for her call back, and I would try not to think about her in the meantime.
Went to funeral visitation earlier, talked to dmom, talked to Dcousin, whom I ran into at Tractor Supply -- I was looking for those cherry jelly beans. They did not have any.

Talked to DS. Stopped at hardware store, got light for oven. Need someone who is better at this than me -- old light broke off so the base is still stuck in there.
Church tonight. I think I need a nap before I go.

I'm at 8700 steps and I have a lot more to do. Dog is walked at least. I'm going to set timer for :15 after the house and work 45 minutes. I need to fold that load of laundry and start pulling out what to pack. And clean my CPAP and maybe even the little travel CPAP. Between now and :15 after I'm sending email to HOA website gal about trying to get payments back on the website.

There is enough food cooked for tonight, so I am taking a break. I made a double batch of mac & cheese and something I called hamburger parmesan. DH said he used to eat it as a child and his Mom called it pizza burgers.
Mystery - Thank you for sharing that. It is another possibility. DD13 doesn't seem shy on showing skin and will wear clothes that I consider not appropriate for her age. However, there are signs of something that is more in depth than I comprehend. DD13 refuses to shave legs/underarm. DD49 has forced DD13 to shave a couple times. I will talk to DD13 counselor about body image.
I feel totally out of my depth in dealing with DD13 and am hoping I don't mess up and say/do the wrong thing. Sometimes I forget and just talk to her like the other kids I have raised. I did that this afternoon and wished I had thought before I spoke.
Me: DD13, you know I love you more than my next breath.
DD13: yes, I know that.
Me: Having yellow teeth is gross. Go brush your teeth!
Later....I realized what I said......duh....I just blew that interaction. I just told DD13 that a part of her was gross.
On the flip side. The frustration gets real.....Why won't DD13 brush her teeth? Why is she okay with walking around with yellow teeth?
She is incrediable smart, creative and capable. She is sweet as can be. She is always respectable and kind to us.
If we can just figure out the reason and solution to stinky body and yellow teeth..........

CI / After a yummy lunch of hot pork San. no taters I napped for 1.4 hrs.
I was tired and my hip was achy.
[Folded & put away the last load of clothes at some point.Maybe just before lunch.]
Then walked the dog not really that energetically I will admit but she did not mind.
Went for a quick drive on the other rig I had not drove this week.
School bus traffic time but I was in a better frame of time when I got back home,
Washed up the dishes they are drying on the counter now.
It is good to read everyone's post.

Lucylee …. If you have a raw potato you can cut it in half and put the cut raw part on the broken part of the light bulb and twist it like a screw driver. It should get that light bulb out.
LadyM… the more I hear about your dd the more I realize that she is really autistic. There are just some things that don’t matter them in the NA world…code that autistic people use for Non-Autistic people. It like unimportant phrases such as… how are you today… that is meaningless to them. That nicety doesn’t compute with them. You understand why your dd needs to brush her teeth, but it’s not something she understands why in a NA world even though she’s very bright. Too bad Elizabeth isn’t around. I’m sure she would have some good advice for you.
Also my Autist fb says some parents use an app called Joon. I haven’t looked into it, but it helps kids do “chores” in a fun way without the parents constantly having to remind their child to do it. I believe it’s sort of in a game form and many parents say they have good success with it.
