I've really have had a s l o w day around here. BUT -- I literally stayed up all night. Not upset or nervous or anything, just one of those nights. I listened to a podcast (I guess that's what you'd call it) about how the new year can make grief harder, and I watched a lot of tv, but mostly I was just kinda "wired," and did not feel sleepy at all. I mean it was 5:30 in the morning before I turned off the lights.
So I slept late, and then scrolled online later, and FINALLY s2s around 2:00 pm.
Since then, I have been to the post office (in dh's truck, which fortunately is running just great, for a 32 year old truck) and I went to the cemetery and took the AU ornaments off dh's little Christmas tree. I left the tree there. I need to call the monument people and see what the status is for the stone.
-- I'm having some mild anxiety about the stone. Maybe it's too plain... but I didn't think dh would want something elaborate... and I didn't think he'd want me to spend a huge amount of money on something fancy -- dh was pretty frugal, to say the least... and I felt like he'd want something comparable to his parents' stone, which will be right next to ours. But lots of people keep posting pictures of stones with fancy engraved pictures and things. DS and I talked about that and agreed we didn't want that. DS might have liked an actual photograph, but we couldn't agree on which photo to use, and I was real undecided about that to begin with. I'm also having some mild anxiety about actually seeing MY name "chiseled in stone," you know? But I owe about $1000 on it, and I might should send them another payment. I am expecting it to be here in February or March.
Anyway -- I've had two fairly busy days, and I guess I just needed a slow day today.
I've talked to DS and dmom, and I did my morning stretches.
I also sent a text to the 2nd guy who inquired about dh's truck. He has not answered me. I've texted him twice since Dcousin made me an offer that was lower than I hoped for. There is a 3rd guy who has also asked. I'm not in a crazy-hurry to sell. I know I'm going to feel really sad when it leaves my driveway. I'm doing fine without the money it may bring, but I'm thinking I might should strike while the iron is hot, you know -- if 3 people have shown interest, I might should take the best offer I can get from them -- no need to advertise or anything, and no need to keep wondering when it's going to need some kind of repair for me to pay for! With these three, I only mentioned casually that I might sell dh's truck... and they all showed a lot of interest... at first. Now...

I don't want to just "give it away." Dcousin is only $500 less than what I thought would be my lowest price. But if neither of these other two want to give more than that, I think I will tell Dcousin he can have it for that. It really needs painting, and Dcousin said it would cost between $4500 and $5000 just to PAINT it! That just blew my mind, but dmom said she was not surprised, considering how much it cost my dad to have his 1963 Pontiac painted. OTOH, my main mechanic said I should ask $5000 for the truck. So I've told everyone this, $4500-$5000 but that the price is
definitely negotiable. But Dcousin is offering below $3500.
Nancy, I'm interested in your cards, over on your other thread. I probably need to divide some of my tasks and think about that too.
I love watching shows that I have recorded because I can fast forward through the commercials! Almost all commercials really get on my nerves.
I do have a couple that I like -- the one for Quicken where the little girl says "my new pony and I love him." And I like the one for Liberty Mutual where the emu is leaving home and years later his owner sees him on tv and says, "Well I'll be... that bird did it." MOST of the Liberty Mutual commercials really annoy me though -- I absolutely HATE the one where the wax figure melts. For some reason that one just looks creepy to me.
Blessed, my dad had a leather chair and oh my... it is sooo nice. The first time DS sat in it, he said, "I might never get up again."

I would have thought it might be cold or stiff or something, but it is sooo soft and comfortable.
LadyM -- is DS outgrowing the 14 and 15s? Wow!
Waving to ALL!!! Hope y'all stay warm and hope all our travellers have safe trips and successful trips -- (((
