I got the trash dumped.
Have worked a bit more on the card file had to make up a daily divider b/c they did not have a b&w one in the set.
Mail has come but there is frost out sill on the roofs across the street @ 11:30
I'll wait till it melts and warms up a bit.
Some broth to warm up sounds good today.

Tried about 11:00 with this much

Good morning everyone. I am just not on my game today. I posted in card file central earlier and thought I was coming over here to post but ran out of steam.

My older kids

long nap later,
My older kids learned to make Hamburger Helper very early in life about 9-10 I'd say. Personally, I used to think it was a good starter for children learning supper meals, although they understood how to get their own breakfast earlier. Sandwiches of course. How to handle leftovers. It was always the Cheeseburger Macaroni for them until dd who was older than little brother, discovered Stroganoff as a young teen and then always Stroganoff. (It took an extra step, lol) But HRH hated HH meals and so that was that. He doesn't like Mac type noodles. Thankfully, of course, they were off to the races then with many favorite foods.

Lots of our family is sick, so the kitchen table lies in pieces where it will soon grow up. Dstepson has what seems to be flu. Ddolder has what seems to be a cold with cough. So dd27 is coming over tomorrow to help and be the second pair of hands the instructions say are needed. She will bring extra washers that weren't in the package. We have sent her a pic. I think dsonil has them in their garage to spare his in-law siblings rummaging while sick.

Desk talk - The office desk that was there HRH has moved into his office and has re-done an area, fixed up a screen there and now has more wrap-around networking so he is happy. Looks neat. Nancy, he is ahead of me with neatness and I bet you are, too.

Better Homes and Gardens recipe book - I think my dmother's was tossed when ds cleared too much from kitchen here. It was only a keepsake, and frankly something of a keepsake for her as she used others, like church and old ones. A shame since it was red and white checked, the theme of my kitchen textiles/curtains.

Dear middle grandson walking over with mail. Must poof to bundle for porch chat. Poof

What a wonderful treat to come here and CUOP.

Normal day here with our teens plus one extra.

I made another pan of French bread type pizzas This time I made 4 cheddar sauce/cheddar cheese and 6 rao sauce/mozzella cheese pizzas. Easy. Quick. Teen pleasing.

In newly reaffirmed focus to "keep the bathrooms clean everyday" effort, I noticed Sam's had a special deal on Glade automatic fragance spray and ordered them. They arrived in mail today so I recruited DD13 and DH to help me get them set up. My thoughts....if the bathroom is clean then no extra coverup scents are needed. I don't know if we will like the automatic sprays or not, but we are giving them a try.

DD13 lost her phone & laptop for a couple hours because she didn't take a bath/shower yesterday. I reminded her to do it but she "forgot". ANYway , I am hopefully that a couple hours is enough to get her attention while still being low stress consequence.

In between doing other things I have been jotting down things needed if we are headed out the door to seek treatment at hospital.
** Mandatory in my pockets at all times - wallet, vehicle key, phone.

In GO Bag -
** List of prescription meds
** Pen & 3x5" card to capture incoming information
** Phone charger and earphones
** Hoodie (hospitals are COLD) and it provides extra pockets to hold things
** Extra cash
** Stabilize blood sugar in high stress situations. Protein bars, tuna/chicken packs. It is easy to find vending machines, but they are filled with high sugar/carb type food.
** Stay hydrated = Tea bags to put in bottled water.
** Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss. Fixodent for DH
** Hairbrush/comb/scrunchy
** Soap, lotion, deodorant, razor
** Change of comfortable clothes including underwear/socks.
** Neck pillow. Makes sleeping in a chair easier.

Will need to pack at last minute or have someone bring to us later -
** DH CPAP & mask
** Prescription bottles of DH meds for them to give in hospital. The hospital didn't have Ozempic & Jardiance available last time.
** Laptop & charger.
** Charger for my smartwatch

While thinking through the last time we had a unplanned hospital stay I realized I would prefer to have disposable toothbrush/paste/floss. I went to order some and realized this would be a possible solution for DD13. Having disposable toothbrush/paste in the vehicle for those mornings I am driving her to school and realize she has yellow teeth. ANYway, those are on order now.

mom is still tired - I am thinking her A-Fib may be the cause of it (invariably the lower heart rate that follows). She has been resting but not sound asleep like yesterday.

kitchen is nice and clean and so is that floor.

Sunny, it is a joy to hear from you and thank you for J and C update about how you've been and all.

LadyM, I take Hibiscus Tea for that water-purpose when I have to be all day at center. It is so pretty in color and has a nice taste, good for you. HRH will drink that, too, even though he resists other different things like Green Tea, etc. It looks so fresh.

lucylee, cartwheels seem an excellent age-appropriate occupation for a little girl. Better outdoors, but weather not permitting. Do try out your ds' attitude toward the future/calendar and don't miss the enjoyment-space-of-time afforded to you. You can have the enjoyment while setting aside the date on the calendar and letting the calendar keep that for you until later. It's what they are for.

Yes, blessed, fun to see middle grandson in a porch visit. He brought mail because it had been incorrectly addressed to his house from late dh's niece. Photographs, mostly from his mother's college graduation but also a few from dd27's birth. One of myself at that graduation was so good - I was astonished, lol. And it was a reminder that dd27 was my plump newborn, not looking as though she should still be a newborn at all, lol. Mine kept getting bigger as I went along, lol.

He says his mother is coughing more than she is telling us.

I sent back with him the presents for his mother's bday. She called and let us listen as she opened them. HRH's was "cool" (Dr Who fun). Mine was "gorgeous" (antique-look embroidery scissors or origami scissors - whatever needs tiny snips - with sheath).

So sick of sickness keeping us from normal interaction with loved ones. Most worried about dstepson with flu, pulling covers over head in his bed. But even sniffles or sniffles around schools or work, etc., make everyone too worried to come near us. Sigh.

Our winter super-cold time seems to be lifting slowly here. Hoping anyone else who has felt "this just ain't right" feelings will have the same. Tuesday seems to hold great promise here for our weather forecasters, who mention it often.
