43 days today - with wind but 43 feels like 38 - seems like such a miracle after the below zero weather.
waving to everyone.

Mystery, I hope you are enjoying The Book of Joy. It would be nice if dc went ahead and sang - I never did those kinds of things when young. Hope the NP appt went well.

LadyM, when you first mentioned it, I was thinking that, for me, it would be how half-days went, or even smaller chunks. Noticed you started looking at what part of day. I hope the kids have fun.

A yesterday TaDa was fixing our shower curtain that would be hard to replace - longer and nicer than others. Tedious but it worked. This is the second time I have repaired, though. I think HRH put some pressure on this time without realizing when he stepped out. First time I blamed Tobias for mischief, not sure.

I had the time to do that quietly and calmly while HRH was at Gen Prac appt. He also has an appt tomorrow with kidney dr and an eye appt Friday. He hates weeks like this. I can't possibly go along and listen, so just hoping he doesn't really need me anyway. We've seen part of the labs for tomorrow (taken last week) and think they look good, but of course we don't know for sure.

Today has been a hanging-on day for me. Not much more so far than cleaning kitchen. We expected HVAC folks to come for their space heater but they never called. Ds and our green-eyed boy were going to come and do a few tasks but HRH did those so I texted and let them off the hook. Homework and baseball practice are taking up that household's time and also, they have a cough, too!!! Does the whole world have something... ..

The same meal that found me eating every bite happily last week is just too much now. I have half my leftovers still in fridge and am not sure I'm going to try it. Smells good, but no interest. I had canned pears (?) and fresh apple for breakfast. No explanation on that.

Have never had an experience with a sauna. Sounds nice.

I did a small load of laundry yesterday through to folding, and laid out another small load for today, so yes, I do have direction, come to think of it. I think that can happen now.

It is helia's dh's birthday today. oops, meant to remember that before now.

Following Harriet to the laundry area started a small load as well.
I am considering a diff. shower curtain too.

Brought up 4 journals to let go of.
and maybe more with the next switch out.
Started both rigs at the edge of the driveway & then swept it.
While they ran I did the dusting.
Not much sounded good but I do have ham for a ham & cheese San. Thawing out my 2 slices of bread now.
I need to have a veg. unless I figure out other veg. like green beans.

Did a few more rows of knitting while I processed the pod cast info. I heard earlier & talked my self in to starting rigs
not going any where.

Was supposed to get to 40* only made it to 38* dang.
I walked around the back yard with ddoggo and picked up after her.

-----
Took a break after washing my dish.
next Flix time
then buffed heels & swish n swiped main bathroom.

Got that done. HRH will carry and put away for me. Trying to get a cushion onto a kitchen chair but it's not working for me. Try that again tomorrow. We like the way my dmother's chairs look under the new table. Similar wood tones.

Cathy, it's nice you got so much cross stitch done today. Sounds enjoyable.

blessed, you seem to have had a busy day. I hope your temp goes up as expected.

lucylee, how did your dmother's foot dr appt go?

Nancy, sorry your temps didn't get to where you'd hoped. Nice that the knitting happened while you could process pod casts.

Twins', hoping you turn out to have no ill effects from trip/flying.

A not-so-good thing about today is my least steps in of any day I can remember since ddolder gave me the watch. Actual sick feelings kept at bay at this point, just no energy. Each day is different and seems to have no "match" from previous time. Maybe I can make a more concentrated effort to get in steps in the morning.

EOD analysis - A good day.

The best part of my day = having a full energy level. I was able to keep focused and moving forward.

The worst part of my day = driving at night in the city. I had to pull over 5 different times to let emergency vehicles with lights and sirens pass me. Twice there were people walking in the middle of a city street (3 lanes wide) in the dark. I'm not used to driving in these conditions and it felt dangerous to me.

Sweet dreams.

People walking in the street just amaze me, LadyM! They act like they just don't think it is possible that someone could hit them. Glad you got home safely!

Harriet, dmom's appt was -- ??? -- well... he thinks he can help her, but there is really no solution short of surgery. He told her to think about it and come back in two weeks, and in the meantime, she is to have some sort of vascular (?) test, to make sure she has enough blood flow to the feet to be a candidate for surgery. It's not a great solution, but she says otherwise, she will most likely be confined to a wheelchair. The pain has just become too much, and she really does have a pretty high pain tolerance. (She had an ovarian cyst rupture once, and waited all night to go to the emergency room. The surgeon told my dad he didn't know how she stood it.) Surgery will probably be much like what Rose, I think, described -- re-breaking and setting the toes -- first three toes are the ones that are particularly involved. He will try to avoid amputation, but that is not totally off the table; he said he would put that in her consent form, but he thought (and hopes) that will not be necessary. In his words, "If I can get this second toe to lay down, that should not be necessary."
He did something today, and numbed her toes a bit for whatever he did -- it looked to me like he was just giving her another shot. When she got home, and it was still numb, she said she wished she could just get a shot everyday,
I dread this, selfishly, because he said she would basically have a 6-week recovery time, and she would be able to "get around," somewhat, but no driving and no weight on the front part of her foot. With her walker and wheelchair in her house, she would probably be able to do self-care and keep herself fed for the most part, but (she said) I would need to come out every few days, and of course, I can do that. I'd be buying groceries for her -- and that's a chore because she doesn't always think ahead to what she needs a week ahead. HEY -- this will definitely be a time to get that Wmart delivery set up! But it's less than 10 miles between our houses, and DS and DDIL would be able to help me out sometimes if I needed them.
So, it's just a matter of prayer, and we'll see what she decides to do. I told her she should talk to dsisil, whom she thinks is so smart. (I've kinda heard enough about how smart dsisil is, but at any rate, she IS an intelligent, experienced RN and dmom should get some input from her and dbro. Maybe they will feel sorry for me and come spend a few days with her in the midst of all this.)
I love my dmom and we get along extremely well, but she does exhaust me mentally, and I would not want to live with her.
I wish I had blessed's patience and positive outlook.

Anyway, I hope things go okay for HRH with all his appointments, and that you have more energy -- but honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about low step count, etc. As usual, you're probably getting more accomplished than I am anyway. But -- Right now it is time for you to just listen to your body and rest when you need to rest, eat what sounds good to you whenever it sounds good, just do whatever you can to keep yourself as comfortable as possible. (((BIG HUGS)))

As y'all might imagine, after last night's high level energy here, and the late hours I keep, I had to have another nap this evening. Dmom's appt was at 1:30, and we got back to her house before 3:00, but after I left her, I went to Wmart for myself... and I find myself buying weird stuff that I used to not buy, and I don't know when I'll cook it (spaghetti, rice-a-roni) but it seems like a good idea with all this free hamburger meat in the freezer... and I bought myself two more pairs of Cuddl-duds... and two extra phone charger cords (because one has bit the dust and another is on it's way out)...
and then I dropped off a big bag of shirts and jackets at the charity place...
and went to the post office...
and the gas dept to drop off that bill...
and then finally got home a little after 5:00.
I put away the groceries, started a load of laundry, ate the last of the chicken and dressing (in the freezer from Thanksgiving, and it was still good.
Also had about half a large bag of pretzel crisps that was a impulse buy... and some mini cinnamon rolls which was another impulse buy...
And then I took a nap.
When I got up, I put the towels in the dryer and ran the "clean washer" cycle it was asking for, so that's all the laundry that got done today.

Tomorrow, thank goodness, I don't have to be anywhere until 6:00 pm church, and I don't have anything to teach. We are waiting to see what the pastor wants us to do for our next study.

I have never been in a sauna OR a hot tub... and I've never had a massage... and I've never had a manicure or pedicure. I feel very dull.

I've just got to wave to everyone and get this posted before I lose my internet again. It says I have "medium" signal, but it is very "iffy" tonight.

OH -- editing -- I just printed out the feelings wheel, and I was looking at the tracking sheet, LadyM...
So I'm thinking -- right now, I guess I am Happy/Optimistic/and Hopeful... Intensity, maybe a 6 out of 10? Is that what it means by bottom, mid, and top level feelings?
Of course, I am also kinda Bad/Tired & Stressed/Overwhelmed, Sleepy, & Unfocused... maybe also a 6 out of 10.
Maybe even a little Fearful/Anxious/Worried & Overwhelmed... fortunately, I'd give that a 4 right now.
This may not work for me.
Tomorrow is another day.
