(((
Harriet))) I am sooo sorry you are having such a rough time, and praying tomorrow goes well, with less side effects to follow. (((BIG HUGS)))
Twins', I'm sorry... I have not taken charge of Tuesday, and Wednesday isn't looking good either. I am embarrassed, seeing how badly someone like
Harriet would love to have the time and health that I have to take charge, and I am squandering my days... but it is what it is.
Had the dgrands for several hours -- and in that time, I did manage to manage some errands --
* took them for lunch, which was a bad idea -- unbeknown to me, DGS was supposed to be on the BRAT diet -- which did NOT include his corn dog and milkshake.

He felt fine, however, until his mom got home, when he began throwing up again.

Sigh.
I had DGD also, because, as her RN dmom diagnosed, she has bro-itis. In other words, she is TRYING to be sick because her brother is. It's almost funny. She told ddil she threw up in the shower. DDIL said, it was just spit. But overall, she was convincing enough last night that ddil let her stay home today. She will be going to school tomorrow, according to ddil.
* texted Dfriend to make sure she still wanted me to fill in for her at church in the morning
* post office
* called fire ant people to confirm that they had received my payment and their bill had crossed in the mail
* dmom's bank to deposit her renter's check
* my bank to deposit my renter's payment (these banks are exactly across the street from each other, and one is next door to the place we ate)
* insurance office to pay home owner's payment... ugh... it is well over $1000 a year, and the deductible for the roof is even more than a new roof would cost.
After DS got finished with his lunch with our (sadly, outgoing coach) and his haircut, he asked if I could meet him at the auto shop and let him leave his car to get the turn signal fixed. Did that, took him and the grands home, and I've been back home since then. Had chicken noodle soup for my supper and I am watching college basketball on tv.

LADYM -- my Tigers are playing Oklahoma. I can never remember which team you are for in your state, but at halftime, Auburn is ahead by 10.
So... tomorrow, I will be arriving at church by 9:00 a.m. to help with the job ddil was doing before she got a M-F day job.
She helped with the "Helping Hands" ministry, being a female companion to the man who heads it up. When people call the church asking for aid with bills or whatever, they are instructed to meet with us on Wednesdays, and whatever aid we give them goes into a data base that is shared by most of our local churches. This may sound kinda cold, but it came to our attention that some people were playing the system and might have funds from every church for this month's electric bill, etc. Of course, with the electric bill, and many like it, we can pay that directly for them, but y'all see what I mean. We have had people complain because another church was giving more for Christmas gifts, for instance. It's sad that people will try to "game" the system like that, but the goal is that we will be wise stewards of the Lord's money.
A few weeks ago, we had a homeless woman sneak into the church and someone found her sleeping in a classroom! The pastor and some of our leaders helped her get a hotel room at a small hotel in town, gave Christmas gift bags to her and the other 10 residents at the hotel, and got her in touch with family members about 40 miles away and took her there to reconnect with them! So we're not an uncaring church, we just have to do what we can and realize our limits.
After my church work tomorrow, I need to buy groceries, and then DS and ddil are bringing DGS to me, I will have to pick up dgd at 3:00, and I will help with the children's class tomorrow night, in ddil's place. DS and DDIL are going to a live musical about the wives of Henry the VIII. It's kinda a modernized re-telling, I think, and as you might imagine... DS can barely contain his excitement.

NOT. But he is out of town playing music on Valentine's Day, so I think he wanted to do this for ddil this week.
Harriet, it was really beautiful here yesterday, but has clouded up today, and I think we have rain coming in. (Just like yours, Twins!)
Blessed, boy... IKWYM about being out of practice with cooking! I have GOT to try to start cooking at least once a week. DGS really enjoyed the spaghetti last Saturday. And I read today that one should only keep frozen ground beef for 3-4 months.

Well, I've had it that long already, and I am pretty sure I won't use it all up in the next 3-4 months! Good grief. I know when my grandfather had a cow processed, my mom used that beef for longer than 3-4 months! Is a person honestly expected to eat a 1/4 of a steer in three months? That's ridiculous.
Ha -- I bet
LadyM would have already used it up with DS 16th around! All your ready-to-eat items sound good (except I admit, I'm not much for cabbage soup, either.)
Twins', you put some good goals out there --
a flexible plan...
work that needs to be done...
time for self and others...
attention to physical and mental health...
I
had a plan. But I was still tired from being sleep deprived yesterday. I slept 9.5 hours last night, and still napped a bit today.

I am feeling better now, and I plan to shower immediately after this game and get in bed. I might not fall asleep immediately, but I'll be in the right place. Last night I slept on the couch, just so tired, and enjoying the Christmas lights.
Oh yes,
Nancy, just a light snow sounds perfect. Not for the person who hit the power pole, of course.
Glad you don't have anymore ice,
Mystery, and glad you're feeling a little better. My biopsy is the 26th, so I'll be following you by a couple days later. Then maybe we can both start March with a clean bill of health!
WTG on finishing your cabinet-clean-out,
Cathy!
Rose, I am reading your post in H&F -- you are exactly right -- checking FB early in the day causes me to waste half the day. I do sooo much better if I get out of bed, turn on the lights, do a 5 minute stretching routine, s2s, and do my devotional reading FIRST. I use my phone for my alarm, so I have to pick it up first thing, but I do have an alarm clock beside my bed... there is no reason I
have to use the phone. But if I can avoid it until I'm s2s, it makes a huge difference in my day.
The next danger zone time for me is when I come home from the post office. (Or anywhere I have been out of the house. Leaving the house = done for the day.) When I come back inside, I want to sit down and read the paper. That leads to snacking, and watching TV, and that leads to wanting a nap... and then the day is completely wasted. So I need to be aware of this and FORCE myself to do some sort of task immediately upon arrival back home. Or, better still,
complete my plan before I leave the house. Now, tomorrow, I cannot do that, because I am not getting up early enough to have extra time before going to church. BUT... I will buy groceries before I come home, and I may wash and vacuum the car.
The things I am overlooking on my plan are -- and I have reordered for priorities --
1. Get tax papers together for accountant --
ugh. Y'all can't imagine how I dread this and how it makes me nervous.
2. Get the Christmas stuff OUT of the dining room.
I am sticking with my vow to leave the tree up until I get that clean bill of health... but everything else needs to be in the closet, out of sight. After the 70-ish days of sunshine, I am not leaving the snowmen out for this month. I know we may get another snow, but I am not "celebrating" it!
3. Call monument place, check on progress of dh's stone
4. Check on Dfriend whose husband died not long after my dh.
