I need a break.
....sitting down, putting feet up, CUOP ...drinking a glass of refreshing tea. Ahhhhhh. Nice.

Micro has been delivered to groomer. On the drive back we drove some country roads that I haven't been on in years. I found it interesting that we were on a dirt road and came across a group of 7 Indian homes. We instantly know they are indian homes because they are all built with the same footprint, materials and floor plan. ANYway, we instantly knew the occupants weren't Comanche tribe because the Comanche Nation has put in nice roads leading to all their member homes. Everyone loves to have a member of the Comanche Nation live on their country road because the road will be 100% better than what the county/state can afford and the Comanche Nation has money to maintain the road after they build it.

I was cooking mac & cheese, bagel pizza bites and Taquitos. While doing that I was prepping the ingredients for Chicken parmesand by putting the chicken tenderloins in egg wash & panko mixture.
also
While doing all that I was also helping DS16 with his math assignment. DS16 was sitting at the kitchen bar and we were talking through the many steps to solve each problem.
Also while doing those things
DH heard us talking through the math problems and tried to help. DH has always been good at math but he has lost that mental ability. He didn't say anything but I could tell he was getting frustrated that we were going faster than he could keep up. It is hard to see DH losing his mental ability little by little. He is still 95% capable in day-to-day doings but the holes in his ability keep getting bigger.
Also while doing all this….
DD49 called crying because her water got cut off due to non payment. The city won't turn it back on without the owner of the home contacting them and paying the full amount and reconnection fee. DSIL is the owner and he is in Australia. I listened to DD49 cry, rant and her frustration at finding herself in this situation (even though it is of her own doing). DD49 is in charge of paying the utilities while DSIL takes care of house payment, insurance, taxes and repairs. By the end of the phone call, DD49 had calmed down and thanked me for listening.

I need a Calgon take me away moment.

Yay, desk work, Nancy!

blessed, the book is The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu. A really good read -- in small chunks. It doesn't exactly have a plot line to carry you through. ;) How does the three-season room relate to getting a ranch house?

LadyM, let the tea take you away if the Calgon can't. Do they still make Calgon? 🤷‍♀️

Have not done the chair exercises yet. I ended up having lunch just before my appointment because I put my lunch in the toaster oven, and it didn't cook! Turns out something had fallen and knocked the switch on the power strip, so while the timer still went tick-tick-tick, the oven didn't actually produce any heat. So lunch was 20 minutes late. I will exercise just as soon as I'm done here -- DH has taken DD to work and has a couple more errands to run, so I don't have anyone to be self-conscious in front of.

Nancy, I considered the whole paper-taming thing I've done with HOA papers to be anti-procrastination.

I am DONE with 2024 bills. Organized, labeled by month, and in a big expanding folder. At this point I'm nearly caught up. I still need to do what I call year end work - review accounts, make adjustments if needed, and turn into a financial statement for HOA. And I need to catch up with cemetery work, although I've kept up with it better.

I'm going to reward myself with some upstairs time. Tomorrow a.m. I'm going to the library to take a look at genealogy books.

Oh LadyM, so sorry to hear of dd calling you to vent. DD is still doing just that to me at times. I'm glad she calmed down - can you shake it off? Yes, let the iced tea and feet up take you away!

d lady(((for your dh))) it is frustrating for him and hard for you to see him going through it. ((())))
oh no - I am glad your dd felt better after talking - panic attacks and thinking the world will end -
it's so hard and draining for everyone involved.

I would never have known that about the Comanche nation - how great it is that they take care of their roads and their people!

Sending you a calgon take you away moment - Garden time?

d Nancy yay on getting errands done. yay on progress!

d twins yay on being done with the 2024 bills. well done. enjoy your time upstairs!

I will pick it up at the library d mystery!
sorry your food didn't cook!
enjoy your exercise!

ranch house - if I lived on my own then I probably would move to a bit more land and a small house but dh will never go for that. A ranch would probably be good as we age (some more 8-) ) - anyway dh would never ever do it. I already mentioned that it would be something to think about. (everything is so expensive by us right now) - it's just over priced. My eldest is looking for a house for herself but the prices have jumped so high in just a year.

After my ankles, dd older thinks it would be a very good idea to add a room where the 3 season room is- it needs to be taken down. My brother has built three of his homes (on his own - he is really good-after farming he had a home inspection company (he went through all the licensing etc.) and did very well) and agrees that cost wise and safety wise for our future that going this route may be the best option.
Who knows - it's just the beginning of the process - next week we will see if it's better financially.

soup is done
time to make cucumber salad - sitting
mom did the dishes - and wiped part of the fridge
cleaned the sink
I decluttered the fridge
after finishing making dinner - I emptied dishwasher and refilled it - it's on again.

Next: wash the stove top, clean the counters again, sweep the kitchen, rinse the kitchen

Made a card, and started the process of cataloging my newer stamps again and checking against what's in in Evernote. There I have a photo of each and they are tagged according to what type card or sentiment they go with. So when I want to make a sympathy card, I can pull up all the salutations that might work. Or a floral image, or Christmas, or Hanukkah.

Dh was getting a massage, will be home soon. I have orientation for the next genealogy institute at seven p.m. so I'll just have time to either eat or take it upstairs with me. Pork chops on the grill and sweet pot in oven. I'm sauteeing some spinach too.

Former trainer K has moved back to my city to take a different job. Wish she were still a trainer where I am, but this was a wonderful job offer for her so I'm very happy. I invited her for dinner tomorrow night - dh is away, and I suggested we pick up take out at the fav restaurant and visit here.

I am walking on my own today and am the same color human I used to be, not grey.

Love reading posts here. Puppies and kitties posts too. Congratulations to LadyM dd all As.

Just barely cuop after being AWOL the last couple days, I think. Yesterday I started a very nice post, IMHO, in which I began -- "I did it! I did it" and proceeded to toot my own horn about doing 15 min daily/weekly, and 15 min zone/Christmas put away... and I went to church and helped with the children's class... and I was very proud of myself.
Then DGS came in and instead of minimizing my incomplete post, he X'ed it out and that was that.
He spent the night and since I had barely napped, I fell asleep relatively early.

Today, I took DGD to school and went back to bed, DGS sleeping in the kids' bedroom, and I only got up when he announced that he was hungry.
Another round of chicken noodle soup... another round of throwing up...
DDIL checked online and apparently, this sort of virus can last from 3-7 days. He's on day 5 of throwing up.
He's staying withThey won't let this happen again to this extent.me again tonight.
In between throwing up, he feels pretty good. And bananas, crackers, and Cheerios (no milk) seem to stay down okay... and DDIL instructed him to sip Gatorade. He complained with headache this afternoon, and she said probably he was getting dehydrated, although he has been drinking water also.

So today I've done a whole lot of nothing.
Didn't even shower until time to get ready for dgd's ballgame -- went to D*llar G*neral and restocked soups, crackers, Gatorade, and then went to her game. (We lost, 5-4). Stayed for dcousin's ballgame (also 8 and under league, also a loss, 10-5). Told boy cousin I would take $3500 for the truck, and he said he might be able to come get it Sunday. I told him there was no rush on my part, but he seems ready to take it. Said he was having to wait for someone to work on the
I know it will make me sad to let it go... but it will also make me sad pay money to have repairs done to it, and it will be nice for dcousin to have it and restore it to its original condition. I think dh would have been glad for Dcousin to have it, since he asked about it years and years ago.
As DS said, the very last thing dh would have wanted would be for me to just let it sit here and rust, and he wouldn't want me to be driving it out of an obligation. And it IS an obligation in hot weather, with no AC! I am thinking of moving some of my patio furniture into the truck's place in the carport -- then I will have a shaded spot to sit in the back as well as the front of my house and that is kind of something to look forward to. My patio is in constant sun, except for early morning. And y'all know where I am early in the morning. ;)

Yes -- Twins -- SIX. They both enjoyed it, and were home fairly early -- I mean DGD was still awake, but she was in bed and I told them to just let them both stay overnight.

Maybe I can do better tomorrow.
I brought the tax papers into the den where I thought I would get to work on them, but so far... nope... I know I am putting this off because partly I'm afraid I'm not going to do it right, and partly because it was dh's "job." He always did it. But it's not that big a deal, really, dh always itemized everything (medical, charitable, etc.) but I doubt we have enough expenses to make a difference. Especially this year, with dh's expenses stopping in the fourth month. I won't be filing the return, just getting paperwork together for accountant. Ladies at church class warned me that next year will be worse, when I will be filing single. They advised that I might want to take additional deduction(s) from retirement check. (Twins'? Any advice?) I will be talking to the accountant about this after he sees how this year is going to turn out.
