Good afternoon!

Don't have many ta-das yet today. Slept in, as DC is on spring break this week, so I didn't have to get up early. But I slept in too late -- felt groggy upon getting up. It's my own fault; I was tired last night and took nearly two hours to drag myself up to bed. Inertia got the best of me.

Therapy appointment this morning. Nothing exciting there; we mostly talked about my upcoming work. Got a text from Dfriend that she's got another small project that I might work on until the big project works its way down the pipeline to me.

Established a base camp on Mt. Dishmore. DH was exhausted yesterday -- he's neck-deep in preparations for the school's big testing day on Wednesday. Every grade will have something. I can't remember which all standardized tests they will be taking. But part of DH's job is to be the school testing coordinator, so it's a pretty big day for him. At any rate, since he was beat, I made a quick dinner of tortellini, salad, and garlic bread. This meant bowls for the tortellini, smaller bowls for the salad, and plates for the garlic bread. Add to that yesterday's and today's breakfast and lunch dishes.... He is likely to be just as exhausted today, if not more so. I will make red beans and rice tonight -- one pot, because we've got plenty of rice leftover from Sunday night's Chinese, and one bowl apiece!

Twins asked when the beach club opens. May is when things really start taking off, with the membership drive and getting people to register for the year. There's a spring cleanup day and sometimes a Memorial Day event. Registrations take place through May; the gate is re-keyed June 1, so last year's keys won't work, and there's typically a kickoff event the first weekend of June. The Easter egg hunt is about the only thing they do this time of year, though now there's the pickleball, too, since one of the members has opened up an indoor place and has hosted a couple of events there.

So fun to read about LadyM's garden. We're a couple of months from any serious planting here, if I remember correctly. Mother's Day is peak season for the plant nurseries, and Memorial Day weekend is big for planting. I know one of DH's colleagues has at least one year started some Early Girl tomatoes in a cold frame, but I can't remember how early he actually had a tomato.

I hope Nancy's tummy is feeling better soon!

Have a great day, everyone!

Mystery, also had a therapy appointment today - I'm discontinuing for now, until the next downturn for me. Afterward went to pick up notebook at Staples - this is for HOA incorporation stuff and minutes etc. Has been in a box with financial stuff but I'm going to turn over to the secretary. But notebook needs replacing - too full, won't open and close anymore. I also bought myself an iced coffee.

So fireplace guy got done with other jobs early and was ready to come here at 12:30, as I was heading out to appointment. Somehow I thought I had an appointment at three, but he apparently couldn't wait around. So I have to reschedule for next week.

I'm upstairs ready for genealogy! RR, sounds interesting that you have a local genealogy group. There's none here, so I lack for people to talk genealogy with, except online.

hello - d mom has been a handful - funny and a bit frustrating - but the frustrating, thank goodness, is making me laugh in disbelief about how feisty or stubborn she can be.

I am going to take her for a walk up and down the street (just a small one) - my goal is to build her endurance twice a day.
she said no - sat there - nope nope nope - finally she is coming with me - oh my goodness - she wouldn't get a Kleenex - she wanted one but didn't want to get up and get it off the kitchen table (10 ft. away) - she stuck to her seat - expecting me to bring it to her while I was in the middle of something. She thinks she can out stubborn me.

hello - it's cold again - :D it's supposed to be warm on 70 - fake spring always pops up here.

mom's been extra keen to tell me how I should take care of my dogs and home (especially when sitting on the couch) :D - "they must get cold" as she tries to call them in - they are running after squirrels and having a joyous romp. Did you see your umbrella - it's off - it is but it's been picked up by the wind and today is cold. - look at this and look at that- She must be feeling good - she isn't helping but she is spreading her "wisdom" on how she would do it. 8-) :D

hello d twins hope you had a good talk appointment today! I go when I have a turn down as well - I call my therapist when I need to talk through things to get back on track. good for you!
sorry that you had to reschedule.

hello d mystery. I heard my neighbor is going on spring break in two weeks - I forget that it comes on at this time of the year. hope dc has fun.
base camp at mt. dish more - that made me smile.
I know your dh will do a great job! Hope all goes by smoothly and he feels rested soon.
have a great day

hi d Nancy - so sorry you have tummy troubles
feel better

hi d rose
how nice that you have a local genealogy group
waving at you.

hi d lady my dh calls it getting his Hairs cut - one at a time :D
I know my dd suggested it - I also figured your nose hair is for catching things floating in the air - I don't mind getting rid of all the stuff sticking out that men have but the rest - I wonder if it is just a fad
enjoy your weather

I am taking your advice - the doctor said.... is going to be my go to re: important care.

hi d harriet - you have such lovely children - they take after their parents.

hello all.
