Rose ~ Hello! Picking up your footprints ~ I like that! It might take us awhile to "get the feel" of these forums. I imagine that we'll migrate some stuff to different places eventually. I keep nosing around to get used to everything.

Still not doing much, but I'm getting a bit antsy. Time to start doing some things...

L.Ann enjoy your time walking with your friend ! This must be some special time indeed. I wish I had friends close enough that I could have a walk with them. I enjoy walking alone, but I don't always enjoy my conversations with myself

R-Rose, I like the footprints term ! I leave footprints too when I'm in a hurry to leave for work or an appt. I spend the evening removing my footprints and my kids'. As for locations, I live close to the Western coast of the Atlantic Ocean in France, in Brittany.

Smile, we're not right on the beach. The houses that have a view on the sea are sort of... expensive. They are owned by rich people who live in Paris (where the salaries are higher), the families arrive around the end of June, and leave at the end of August. Sometimes they spend a week for the Easter break. The houses are empty, blinds closed etc., all winter long. People living and working all year in Brittany have a hard time finding affordable houses, they buy houses far from the coast, and they commute to the coast cities where there are jobs and shops. The SHE boards are lonely now, it's a bit sad to have to leave it all behind, with lists and posts and (for me at least) whole years of lists and news and updates about my kids when they were babies, and even long before that.

Lunch is eaten, kids are playing quietly (because we asked) and we grownups are quielty sitting on the LR couch for digestion, before getting a backpack ready for a trip to the sea side. It's cold and windy, not sure we will stay for long. MrNG suggested we find a spot where we can stay in the car and watch the kids from there but that's usually not possible, car parks are always a bit far away into the land with a small hill or dune to "cut" the winds from the ocean before they reach the roads and towns.

Frenchie ~ Ikwym. I felt like that when we moved from the first phpBB board. A lot of my kids' milestones were there. I get it about beach. We lived on a Michigan lake when I was a kid. The richer people had summer homes on the shore. We poorer people who were there all year round lived in the much simpler cottages farther back off the shore. Summers were SO much different than the winter.

I'm also FB friends with Funmumlu ~ so I contacted her. I have no contact in for kitkat and decaf. I'll be sad if they don't make it. But there are Facebook groups that have been around for a long time that have SHEs from here and the SHE forums. Maybe they can find us through them. Dogged knows.

Hi everyone! Some of you might remember me as Cabby. I retired from that job almost 10 years ago and moved to the Niagara Falls area of Ontario, Canada. I also married my high school sweetheart. Dh tells everyone that we had a 35 year break.

Not much going on here today other than dishes. I have always hated doing dishes. On top of that, we live in a rural area and we have a septic system and it's not happy this week. A lot of snow has melted and it poured rain yesterday and it's pouring rain again today. It's also extremely windy here as well.

Today I am making a beef stew for supper. Seeing as I will be in the kitchen, I will be catching up on the dreaded dishes.

So far today dh and I have sat together while he had his coffee. He has gone to a local store to buy some carrots. The stew isn't complete without them. I also took out the garbage from the bathroom. We have a very small house, but it's perfect for the 2 of us. When we bought it dh made one bedroom into a library for me. The walk in pantry/office space was the smallest bedroom right off the kitchen. Our house is a bungalow with no basement. I love having the washer and dryer on the main floor of a house, so I was thrilled that there wasn't a basement.

Hi, Cathy! Good to see you again! Sounds like you've found a wonderful life partner and place to be. Not sure what I'm making yet, but beef stew sounds yummy!

DH is doing homework with DBD now (we kinda let it slide all week long and every day she was getting a list of stuff she's supposed to do while sick and we were too busy trying to work from home with kids underfoot to get through it) and he refused my offer to switch places, so... I won't insist! She's still in the stage when she thinks she can negotiate or whine her way out of doing homework. Not that DS, who is 6 years older, wouldn't attempt that from time to time too!

Rose, I always tell my husband that I would be able to tell what he was working on, because there will be clues! If he sweeps the floor, the broom will be leaning against the wall. If he unloads the dishwasher, a pot will be left on the stove. And the same goes for all his house maintenance tasks! There is still a box of tools on the dining table from when he was fixing my earrings last night
L.Ann, what is the new medication supposed to do?
Frenchie, technically, the taxes have a deadline of April 30, if I file them online. But I try to stick to the March 31 for paper filing, even if I do file online every year.

DD32 has a genetic disease(DADA2) that has been identified in 650 people so far world wide, Trissie. A small number of the people with her issues have blood problems and a smaller number of those with blood problems have issues with neutrophils which are the white blood cell that fights bacteria. They have tried this medication in a very small number of people with success. They think what happens with her disorder is that her body makes neutrophils but that the leukocytes(I think) are extra strong and kill them before they mature. This medication is supposed to suppress the leukocytes which in several people has allowed them to develop normal levels of neutrophils. Since her low neutrophils are her biggest issue if we could fix that she could stay out of the hospital which would be great. Anyway it is worth a trial of 2-3 months.
