Today I had to take Freddie to the vet for his four-weekly Solensia injection for his arthritis. He hissed and swore at everyone as usual, but everyone has retained all their fingers, so I'm calling it a win. :D I'll be back to the vet on Thursday, this time with Jude , for weight loss clinic. She, in contrast, is always a little angel. :D

Afterwards, I had coffee with PL (she has a beautiful, immaculate house, but it is just her living there) and then some time in my garden,. before finally starting the housework. Today was the sitting room, hall and stairs. And now it's 9.45.pm, so I'm thinking about my bed! :D

Home from getting DD13 from school. Another day of learning with no drama. Win! Win!

We are waiting and watching. The weather conditions are right for severe storms to pop up. The weather people say we will either get NOTHING or we could get tornadoes and baseball size hail. If storms happen, they will develop near us and move fast. It is just a typical springtime day on the plains.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

So happy to hear about good test results and the information and clues you are learning, LadyM. How can you stay attentive when you are called away so much... .. hmmm... write down the last few words of the thought you were having, just as you turn attention away? I have tried that verbally to myself, but it seems to be dependent on how long I'm "away". Maybe jotting down a reminder/place?

Kittykatt, isn't it a shame they don't speak our language, so vet could have a consultation and make a case for the shot. Glad he will have less pain.

I am so done for the day again. Half a day finishing up receiving freight and then stocking shelves. Then I came home and took my dog for a walk.

I work at the local hardware store as does dh. He started first and has been there as long as dd24 is old. I've been there like 9 now? 4 days a week. I do freight and inventory as well as at the moment attempting to direct the seasonal department. Teaching a whole new bunch how to merchandise.
Right now is starting our busy season and a lot of stock is coming in. Needing to be set up. I am focused elsewhere but they keep wanting ideas and how to. Almost overwhelmed today as my brain is fried from family stuff.

And the dog walk .. I am learning with a dog. I have cats. Decided when ds was getting a little older a dog would be fun too. I fell in love with a little 3 month old samoyed fluffball. Now he's a big ole teddy bear 2 and a half yr old could be 70 pounds. Of hugs and muscle. Lol. He hasn't completely learned how to not pull me around yet lol.

Anyway I am feeling like I ran a marathon. But big relief I have help tomorrow. Thought I was going to have to do mom and dad's twice tomorrow. Thankful I have a morning check in person. Mom has an appointment with a new dr tomorrow afternoon and I have to take them. Apt dad will likely come. He can't drive yet. I have to pick them up and get all of info straight. What a blessing I get the morning to myself. Dh is leaving a little early he's head to the city with a couple coworkers for a paint seminar. He'll be gone all day.

I am going to see if I can stay awake long enough to crochet a row.

Whew! I guess I need to talk it out, but I'm almost too tired. I don't think I could talk if I were face to face or even on the phone with anyone. I almost started crying on the phone with dbro and dsisil.
It's not that anything bad has happened -- it's just been a long stressful day. Dmom is at the rehab center which is part of the facility where ddil works. She is not on ddil's hall, but ddil says she will check in on her before and after work, and I guess she can pop in during the day if she wants to. She said she would make sure dmom got her shower each day if she had to stay later.
Dmom is pleased -- private bathroom, tv gets the Inspiration channel so she can watch Gunsmoke, bed is adjustable. Everything seems good.
It is approximately 30-35 minutes from my house, about 45 minutes if I have to go to dmom's house first.

I'm just worn out, trying to get clothes/etc together for her, and just a lot of hurry up and wait today...
and then dmom is insistent that she wants to get a PureWick for home. Have y'all seen the commercials -- it's an external catheter system. It is working great in the hospital... but... the nurse at rehab says it is not a good idea; we need to keep dmom as independent as possible.
Dmom says she only wants this to use at night; her sleep is interrupted every night by the need to go to the bathroom, which sometimes involves changes pajamas, etc.
Also, the price is about $600... but dmom doesn't realize the wicks have to be changed every day, at a cost of approx $200 per month...
and the tubing, etc, has to be replaced every 60-90 days, at a cost of around $85...
AND the whole thing can cause UTI's, etc, if everything is not kept clean and replaced as needed.
So I hate to discourage her, but it seems like it might not be as good as she thinks it will be.
I guess it's just something to pray about; God's been doing a pretty good job of working things out so far.

Anyway. It's been a long day. I'm currently doing her laundry from home, because a lot of the stuff she needs at rehab was in the dirty clothes at her house.
I bought a lot of comfort food at the grocery store today and I've eaten a lot of it.
Tomorrow is another day.
