I have done the next round to tasks.
Swept outside steps and walkway & driveway.
Moved rig so delivery truck has best access to that part of the kitchen.
dust mopped under the table.

Did my journal. I learned this first thing from dd.
Adding What Went Well {WWW] with three dots at the bottom of the page for my journals has helped in my reflection time as well
as Proud of with three dots in front of lines on opposite page or above. That changed my focus to better things to think on. The 2nd one was
in a guided Happy Planner journal prompt page.

We have lovely weather here this week all week it's dry too!

OMM : Mowing later when the dew is off the grass.

Homeschool is done.

5 things cooked and are cooling before I package and put them away.

DS16 isn't running a fever but has stomach issues happening. He is evaluating whether he feels well enough to go to work. I encouraged him to stay home if he is sick. However, if he is sick then that means he shouldn't have friends here tonight. If DS16 is sick enough to stay home without friends, I might need to call an ambulance. I can't remember the last time DS16 went a day without having friends here.

Oh Harriet, I'm so sorry you're hurting today! Very very gentle cyber hugs going out.

I didn't get much done. Looked at dd's tax return (she lives in NJ and works in NYC so files both) and fixed it so she's not taxed twice on the same income and I think she's squared away. She's going to efile it today.

I'll need to be leaving for workout in one hour. I'm going to finish doing kitchen clean up and take a quick s2s. I hate to right before I workout but I need it. Also need a snack to tide me over.

Three knee braces ordered. We have multiple types of braces on hand but the fellas are partial to one type. DH and DS16 are experiencing knee pain today and wanted to use that brace. DS16 insisted that DH use their favorite brace but it was too complex for DH to use. DS16 put the knee brace on DH for him. I looked up their favorite brace so I could buy another one and was surprised to find they have been using that same knee brace since purchased in 2011. Fourteen years ago! So far, all that is needed is to wear a brace to restrict activity for a day or two and then everything is fine. I have a tub of braces (wrist, finger, back, knee, etc) that are used when needed.

My small bouncing balls arrived in the mail today. That is one of my new-to-me exercises that I am implementing this month. It is a super simple exercise - bounce a ball and catch it. Rinse & repeat. As simple as it is, it is challenging for me. It takes quick reflexes and good eye hand coordination. About the time I get it down then i change hands and the challenge starts again.

The new-to-me sitting arraignment in the garden is coming together. Carpet, edging and chairs are in place. I am using one of the antique washtubs as the centerpiece. I am testing it now to see if it will hold water. If it does hold water then I will add goldfish. If it won't hold water then I will fill it with dirt and plant something. I like the idea of planting something next to the chairs that will give off good smells - mint, basil, etc.

I am going to try and chill for a couple hours before picking DD13 up from school. We will leave for the city and won't get home until close to 9pm.

Good afternoon!

Re: happiness -- Long ago, I was taking Polish lessons, and the teacher explained that there wasn't one word in Polish that directly translated as "happy." There were two: zadowolony and szczesliwy (not sure I'm spelling correctly, and I know there are diacritics I'm missing). Szczesliwy means "lucky" and zadowolony means "content." I've tried to keep that in mind since. Am I happy because of external factors, or am I happy no matter what conditions I'm in? I must admit to being guilty of the first way of thinking too much of the time. But I can blame cultural factors. ;) After all, the root of "happy" in English is the same as in "happen." So of course, you must be happy because of what happens to you, right? :D (And, upon further checking, it seems that there's no consensus about the happy/happen connection, so there goes that excuse!)

Twins, can I come to your house for dinner? It sounds absolutely yummy. And DH is headed out with the guys tonight, so dinner here will be catch as catch can. Probably takeout, but we've had so much takeout lately. It's a shame the timing doesn't work out -- if DD got off work before DC needed to be taken to rehearsal, we could pick up Thai on the way. But the schedule means that to do that, I'd need to head back the other direction after heading home.

DH and DC just got back from the storage unit where we keep some of the furniture from DH's parents' house. DC wants to use a tea cart from there for their play. Turns out the tea cart was near the back of the unit. If I'd known they were going to have to dig that deep, I'd have told DH to measure a few things. Alas.

Dust kangaroos, Nancy?! I'm so glad you got your new stove.

Glad Harriet can peek in and give us at least a little report.

Time to figure out just what the logistics are for this evening.

I was late to workout - left a little late because I was perusing new swimsuits online since we're going to beach in less than two weeks. I went to look at what I already own and decided to not purchase now. Also late because of construction on a main road on the way. They have been closing down one lane in that direction in the middle of the day for several weeks now but I can't remember.

But I had a good 45 min workout. My legs were trembling at one point. I followed the workout by going to the plant nursery and I enjoy it so much. I feel energized by it. I bought two ferns, geraniums, sweet potato vine as a filler to go with geraniums, and mint to replace what died in the winter (it's potted so contained, sometimes it comes back in the spring, sometimes it doesn't.) They did not have much of a selection of the small tomatoes so I decided to wait a bit. I'll look at Lowes too because I need to go there.) The lady there said she thought they still had tomatoes etc. to come in.

Interesting weather. Yesterday the high was around sixty, today the high is 86. Tomorrow the high will be high sixties.

I'm going to walk the dog in a few and then water plants.

RE happiness is a choice discussion. Counselor asked DD13 if she is like a balloon floating around without any control of what she feels. I thought that was an interesting question. I only stay for the first 5 minutes of DD13 hour long meeting with counselor so I didn't hear the rest. I'm looking forward to our next evening walk to hear more of DD13 thoughts.

Harriet- you are in my thoughts many times during the days. I remember DBro describing this phase of treatment and it is not easy. Dbro was in isolation unit for 30 days and said he watched John Wayne movies 24 hours a day. Just waiting for this phase to be over and start the next phase on the road to recovery. Hang in there.
