I hope you feel lots better soon, Rose! (((HUGS)))
I know my dmom cannot stand to have to take prednisone. She has just about refused it the last time she was prescribed it. She said it makes her so jittery she can barely feed herself!

I really shouldn't laugh about it. It doesn't affect me that much -- but I do remember it made me want to eat all the time! And I have had nights when my eyes were just glued open all night long, but with tv and the internet, I can stand that in order to get the relief that steroid offer.
Speaking of dmom, she is probably going to get another steroid shot in her shoulder this coming Thursday. I hope it gives her some relief for her pain. Right now, she can barely use her right arm -- and she had a shot about 4-6 weeks ago. Sometimes they just don't hit the right spot. She said she might just mark it with a sharpie, which is not a bad idea.
LadyM, IKWYM about consistently using your cards. I am the same way, and I do fairly well (by my standards, anyway) until the dgrands arrive on Friday evening. Then, it's like I never even heard of any kind of routine.
And this weekend, I was kinda looking forward to having most of Saturday to myself -- and then I did absolutely n o t h I n g except scroll on my phone. Just totally wasted the whole day. Stayed up too late and then found out this morning that ddil's substitute Sunday School teacher needed me to substitute for her. SMH. I made it with plenty of time to spare, but I would have been better prepared if I had s2s first thing Saturday (and washed my hair) AND gone to bed at a reasonable time last night.

This Chromebook is dying, isn't it? Every so often, the screen goes dark, and then totally black. If you lower the screen about halfway, it revives itself, but I've done that at least twice since I started typing this.
I know I got this really cheap, but I do love it. I can sit here in my recliner and watch tv while I type -- I don't have to go into the computer room.
Do any of you have any suggestions, or do I just have to ride it out till it refuses to charge up and then replace it?
I'm glad the birthday celebration went so well, LadyM. Re: a gardening gene -- I don't know if there is one or not, but it definitely was not passed on to me. My grandparents (all four) and my parents all had vegetable gardens, and I think they all enjoyed it... but oh my goodness, I hated being in the garden from the moment I was born, I think. When I was pretty little, sometimes I was supposed to help pick beans or something. I was so glad when dbro was born in March -- that summer my job changed; I had to stay inside and watch the baby! LOL. I still had to help shell beans and get the husks off corn, and things like that.
I guess gardening stopped around the time I was 13, when dmom got a job at the bank.
I always helped mow the lawn too, from the time I was old enough, but we have never had a riding lawn mower and dh and I always paid someone to mow for us. His allergies were such that he had never mowed (except when he was coaching and part of his job was keeping the field mowed.) But I hate this part of summer, because (1) the man who mows now does not have the best mower in the world, and there are places that look like he has skipped a line or something... and (2) he is supposed to mow every other week, but if it rains, or he is busy with something else, then it might be more than 2 weeks, and it really gets to looking pretty bad in between. (And it seems like it's ALWAYS at the borderline stage when we are hosting a birthday party, BTW!)
Waving to ALL!!! Hope you all have a great week ahead! Special (((HUGS))) for Harriet this week.
