Headache is still hanging on. Sometimes it just doesn't want to go away. I'll take something with lunch and drink something.

Yay. One flower bed is done. Dh started bringing the rocks the other day
There were some big ones in the area we dug for the well. I laid fabric and got a few more so it can be bigger. He filled it with extra garden soil.

And I did a little raking. Now I'm making lunch. He's going to do what he wanted at the church and I will walk Casper and work on it some more.

Hello, everyone!

Helian, how wise to order in pizza when your busy and short of time! Our neighbours had their noisy BBQ party during the hottest part of the day when I'd retreated inside, so I didn't hear it too much. It seems to have finished for today, but we still have Sunday and bank holiday Monday to go ...

Harriet, I hope you get to go home early from the hospital.

Laura, the party is our annual neighbourhood party. The tradition started during the 75th anniversary of VE Day, when we had our first street party. We've carried on the tradition of getting together ever since, although this year DF CW suggested we had a garden party in her garden instead, and we're just having drinks and nibbles instead of a full blown buffet. The emphasis will be on getting to know people a bit more (we have three people who have moved in over the last year.) But, as this Thursday is the 80th anniversary of VE Day, we've put the bunting up already, and we'll leave it up until after our party.

So, I was inside during the hottest part of the day, and I did housework and prepped lunch for tomorrow. I found the bunting in the garage, and strung it up outside, so we now look quite festive. And I've had some time sitting outside, and chatted to Dneighbour S and DF CW.

I've made a coffee loaf cake, but it's still too warm to ice. DH still isn't home, so I'll tackle that pile.of laundry that needs folding.

Late to the party again! DD32 got a silver medal at bocce and had a good time. It was a long day though especially if you like things to be well organized!

Laura, bunting is basically a long string, with decorations hanging from it at regular intervals. You can pin/hang it to help give a party atmosphere. Ours has the union flags on it ,mainly because I'm reusing what we originally bought for the Platinum Jubilee, as it's still going strong. It was also used for our Coronation party, and I think it's appropriate for this year , as the 80th anniversary of VE Day is later this week.
