FFB, I really hope you can rediscover those things that bring you joy! I'm making an effort to get back into reading, which I used to do a lot more of. Did you go to the seaside? I always enjoy hearing about your gardening adventures because we don't garden here. Dh is actually the plant person. We used to have a small vegetable garden, but then dh got too busy.
Kitty, yet another apple variety I've never heard of. I wonder how long we could go with apple varieties? Are you going to get out in the sunshine today?
Feathers, did the cinnamon rolls turn out? The bread baking sounds amazing. I used to enjoy baking - before we learned dd29 had celiac disease. I never took the time to properly experiment with GF flours.
Good morning L Ann! WTG getting in some walking so early in the day.

It is gray and cool today, in the 40s. It looks like there will be a lot of rain this afternoon. I'm glad I got in my jog yesterday. Today, we'll be out of the house for an extended time as we're meeting MZ for lunch over in the D city suburbs after church. So, we'll leave around 10 a.m., attend church, pop in the newcomers meeting (although we haven't decided we want to join this church), and then meet MZ around 12:45/ 1 for lunch. We'll probably be home around 3/ 3:30 pm. Some payroll prep, a trip to WF, maybe walking at the gym (if it's raining), perhaps some laundry -- and maybe I could actually prep for my week! These would be good things to do in my shortened afternoon. There is no formal Sunday dinner tonight. :)

Next:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- make the bed

Later:
- finish folding and p/a load of lights
- otd @ 10
- church
- newcomers' meeting?
- lunch with MZ
- can I go for a walk?
- WF run
- lists in notebook
- start change of address cards for Mom
- menu plan
- payroll: start prep for AAS D6
- dinner: bread, rot. chicken OR leftovers?
- after dinner clean up
- duo
- update health apps

TaDas!
- up; weighed self -- strangely, a little down after I ate so much last night :?:
- coffee
- kitchen tidied
- email deletions + weather website

Morning all. I think you're on the right track frenchie. You're so programmed into hurrying through the shower cause the kids might need you. They're older now. You can take that extra 10 minutes. Or a casual walk on your own. I think you do a wonderfully job already of keeping your kids active with you. I get it though.

Spartan is in stores here as a common variety. Must be grown in the places we get produce from.

Well I made my day busier than intended. What began as a simple have the kids over to do something for dh birthday ended up including mom and dad. That always makes more work. But I think I have it sorted now. Gonna do a pulled pork in the instant pot a couple salads. Done. My brain is doing a great job overcomplicating every again and I did not sleep well.

I need to get started. Basic routines this morning should have things in close enough shape. Church. And stop for groceries and gas after.

I guess the main reason I ended up like this is trying to keep mom more active. Which is not working. She is spending a lot of time just in bed. But maybe that is completely normal for her now? I feel like we're spinning circles trying to go against the progression of her dimentia? Has us so confused.

Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Empty and reload dw
Tidy kitchen all the way
Clean cat boxes and take garbage out
Sweep everywhere
Finish getting ready for church

Kittykatt, you know so much about helping our pets. The vet did send home with me some Royal Canin liquid that I can syringe feed. Since my mother never gave ddog any "dog food", wet or dry, and always cooked chicken or hamburger for her, that is what she is willing to eat. So fortunately I have a small chopster, and can simmer chicken breast, chop it fine, and mix in some baby rice for a bland, low fat food. I got up middle of the night, took her outside to potty. She's very sound asleep right now, and I have to get ready for church. She had such a day yesterday, I think I'll let her sleep and work with feeding when I come home. But she's supposed to get antibiotic every 12 hours, so I guess I'll have to wake her up, give her some water to moisten her mouth, then the liquid medicine.

Helian, there are 1:1 gluten free flours that work very well for my favorite brownie recipe, and work well with cookies and banana bread, without changing my basic recipes. I think Bob's Red Mill and King Arthur were the brands I used when I was GF. Pamela's brand of yeast bread mix worked well. Our pastor is celiac. I used Pamela's and brought it to church soup supper, he liked it. I made it a cheesy herb bread by adding dried minced onion and a cup of coarse grated cheddar cheese stirred into the batter and it was fine with those additions.😋

Laurlind, that is a progression pattern for dementia. You have done fantastic in keeping her active as possible, and sometimes she might have a day or 2 with increased ability. We had a caregiver helper for my dh whose mother had dementia. They went through 5x of being called because the mother had gone downhill, even to not eating, but then perked up again after a few days. And it was weeks, even months before another episode. Difficult.❤️

Gma you don't know how helpful that is. Having personally experience in it is where I am lacking. My mom was my example always having someone to visit in the care home. And when yhat person passed on there would always be someone next. She was the person I would ask for advice now she can't tell me. That is her all over. A few good days and then a few days of in bed and barely eating anything. Dad has told us without question he will keep her at home and care for her as long as he can. I guess we honor that and help where we can?

I can't quite figure stella out either. Maybe she's coming round? She acts her completely normal self. Snuggles and sleep on us at night. Not really acting in pain. I gotta go clean her boxes and see. And maybe she'll take some more wet food.

Waving to kittykatt, Feathers, Frenchie, helian, gma, lauralind and L.Ann!

We're home! We had a really lovely long weekend, the rental was really nice (definitely saving the location - as a family of six, if something works, it's a keeper!), we took a day-trip to Vienna (Schonbrunn Palace - the Imperial Zoo, the Childrens' museum and the Maze), and two family bike trips. Nothing to write home about (the longer was 13k), but it was our first family bike trip, so I consider it a success! :-)
The four hour drive home was awful - high traffic, and a lot of *** who made everything worse and less smooth. I had to lay down for a bit to recover, but now I need to face the music again.

TaDas
- shorter family bike trip
- pack everything
- spiff up the rental
- drive home

ToDos
- unpack clothes
- sort and start a load of darks
- water garden

You know how one things always leads to another if you live in a household with other people? :-)
yeap, it started as a list of three items!

TaDas
- unpack clothes
- run all the clean extras through dryer as everything was slightly damp and then fold it
- sort and start a load of darks
- water garden
- unpack food
- unload DW
- empty and clean bathroom trash can
- afternoon routine
- wash two pairs of winter shoes
- declutter a pair I really loved but it's seen better times and is not worth paying repairs for
- check work email (luckily, nothing that would require my reaction, because I forgot to set out-of-office autoreply for Friday)

ToDos
- homework/backpacks
- repot geraniums
- start dinner
