I've been out of the loop a few days now. Everything is going okay -- I've just been kinda "bed-rotting" to use the new FB term.
Talked to dmom today and things are "moving," so MAYBE she is making progress. Sigh. I sometimes worry about her being alone, but oh my goodness... I do NOT want to live with her again. I was so exhausted after spending Monday at the ER and Monday night sleeping (?) at her house.
I talked to dh's cousin last night, and she said she had heard that it takes two nights to make up for one night of lost sleep. I guess I took that as permission to do NOTHING at all today. However, yesterday, I did run some errands (paid electric bill and went to grocery store) and I dusted the main area of the house and cleaned bathrooms -- just the WHB minimum, nothing major. I also did my allergy shots, which I had forgotten on Sunday.
Tomorrow is dgs' Awards Day so I will have to get up early -- it's at 10:00 a.m. DGD will probably spend the night with me tomorrow night.
Also learned tonight that DGS has at least one more baseball weekend. His coach picked him for All-Stars, but said we would not compete past the district level. The coach knows we don't need to be travelling all over the state, competing with probably the top 25 teams in the state, even if we do win district. (At least, that's what he told DS. He doesn't even want to buy new uniforms -- he got 11 players from dgs' team, and only one from the other team in our town. I know that doesn't sound quite fair, but DGS said he wanted to play again so we're just following along. The best player on the other team reportedly did not want to play the All-star tournament, so the other coach's son is the only one from that team who made it.)
I need to go back and read more about the autism y'all were talking about the other day.
But for today (well, yesterday now) thumbs up for dgs... for my mother feeling a wee bit better...
thumbs down for myself wasting today like I did.
I love butterflies too, Nancy. I just hung some from Cracker Jack's on my jewelry hangers. (I use one of those accordion-style hat racks to hang my necklaces. The butterflies had been put away in a box -- which I opened as I was looking for those dratted poetry folders, which are still missing, BTW). The butterflies are paper, but three-dimensional, much better than the little stickers that CJ call a "prize" these days. These are from the early-mid 70s, when my neighbor, OG, and I were eating CJ's and he gave us his prize. We each got butterflies and I took them all. I don't know now which one was his, but they hung from the rack of my canopy bed for a long while, and now they are on my jewelry rack.
I may get DGD to "help" me make spaghetti tomorrow night, Cathy, and maybe chocolate chip cookies too! We're supposed to have storms tomorrow night also. She may want to stay with her mommy, but I doubt it.
(I have the spaghetti ingredients and the cookie dough in the refrigerator too, Bama! I need to use it up!)
LadyM -- oh my goodness! DS is a senior now??? Oh my how time flies!
And that is awful that ds' boss ended up in the hospital! What a way to start a vacation!
And now Rose is looking at possible surgery... (((HUGS))) And it's not like you don't have a lot to deal with already. (((BIG HUGS)))
Waving to Mystery, Bama, Lauralind, and KittyKat!
I'm not very organized in the kitchen either -- of course, most of you know it is a really rare event for me to cook. DH and I ate out a LOT, and I definitely do now that it's just me. My spices are all on a little lazy susan in one cabinet beside the stove. I don't have a pantry either, but I do have a lot of cabinets.
So -- just wanted to check in and let y'all know I was still among the living, LOL.

Hope you all have a great weekend!
