Harriet, I am so glad you have a "long" weekend to rest from all the medical people! (((BIG HUGS))) for all the snafu yesterday.

But... No.... I am seeing no results from trying to work out things I need/want to do along with things dgrands want/need from me... and good gracious we spend a lot on meals when they are here! Which reminds me, I have all the stuff for spaghetti in the refrigerator and no excuse not to be making that. SMH. I also semi-promised DS some cookies but... no... I have not made those either.
When I look at the big picture, it looks like Lucylee is VERY Lazy. Am I still in grief enough to claim that as part of the reason? Probably not... y'all have known me about 25 years and I've always been lazy. I am also low on exercise and high on food consumption myself lately -- the more the kids eat, the more I eat. SMH some more...

Yesterday, I was ALL SET to cut down a small tree and prune the shrubs. It had FINALLY quit raining for a while and it was nice and cool, breezy... and then my little 4" chainsaw tore up. I told y'all that already.
Anyway, the rain has begun again, and is likely to continue most of the week ahead. I don't really have Memorial Day plans, so that is okay with me, and it is good for my little trees -- two of the three are amazing me with their output of leaves already. The third one will probably not do anything, but as DS said, it didn't cost me anything, and maybe I can replace it next year.

Definitely no need to water grass or anything else around here, Nancy. But I know before too long, we'll be in drought conditions again, and I'll have to work at keeping these little tree-sprouts alive.
I did set up my planner tonight, which is usually a late Sunday night thing, and next week is pretty much "open" except for dmom's doctor's appointment on Thursday. DS also told me tonight that we could all go to the show he is doing Saturday, which will not be too far away, so I'm looking forward to that.

LadyM -- I am impressed! I mean, I am always impressed with you, but wow -- refrigerator repair is something else you can put on your resume'?
Good for you! Maybe it will keep running for a while and you won't have to rush a new purchase.

Boy, that would be sooo frustrating to only get 5 of 13 items requested, Harriet. I don't blame HRH for being irritated! I was just thinking about doing an order -- I saw that they offer Wmart+ for free for 30 days... but I think I'll just stick with the old fashioned way. I never have a lot to buy anyway.

(((Blessed))) I hope you can get back on track, too. I can't imagine how you keep everything going in your household, and here I am complaining about two part-time grands!

Sounds like y'all are having a good trip, Twins!

Cathy, WTG on doing the pictures. I am making photos and paperwork my zone for the coming week, along with master bedroom, which also has some paperwork piling up in here... along with the mysterious missing poetry folders. BIG SMH... WHERE can they be??? Maybe I threw them away, but I don't think so because there is no record of it here in PWYC, and I am pretty sure I would have told y'all about it if I had.
I sure do know what you mean about "When I am retired..."

Lauralind -- WTG on shampooing your rug!!! My carpet and rugs need cleaning sooo bad. I mean, it is embarrassing. NOTHING has been done except vacuuming in 40 YEARS. Can y'all imagine? If I had hardwood under it, I'd just have it pulled up like my dmom did hers... but there is nothing but subfloor under this carpet and as y'all know, money is kinda tight right now. I think it is way past what I could do myself, but I may have St*nley St*amer come do it when I get a little more cushion in my bank account.
Between football tickets (that I won't use) and paying the balance on the tombstone and income tax... last month was pretty rough.

Well, DS called to see if I would pick up dgd for Sunday School tomorrow, (ddil is working, and I do hope the other children's teacher is there! Otherwise, I will be the substitute) and after I talked to him, I finally found some energy -- washed the two bowls and spoons which were in the sink... wrapped (gift-bagged) dmom's Mother's Day present. She hasn't felt good the last two weeks, but I told DS, maybe we can go take this to her tomorrow after we eat... I laid out my clothes and dgs' clothes for tomorrow... PUPA most of the stuff in the den and kitchen.
DGS came and did Bible reading and prayer with me and I guess I'm going to do my night time routine and get in bed. It's almost midnight.

Thinking about Memorial Day... It always makes me sad because I consider OG's death to be "in the line of duty." He was not in a war or anything at the time (he did serve in Vietnam), but at the time of his death he was on some sort of mission with special ops.
And dbroil and dsisil are at the beach, and that makes me sad because I would love to be there, but trips are out of my long-range plans now that dh is gone... I don't feel I can drive it without falling asleep... and that frustrates me. Plus I absolutely cannot do a beach trip without taking dmom along, and that still makes me a little nervous... Of course, if dh were here, my trips would be planned already: Atlanta for baseball, Nashville for Opry, both of which are way over-priced IMHO. DH did not enjoy the beach At All.
AND I do feel somewhat guilty if I have a good day. Nancy and Harriet, y'all know what I'm saying, I think -- if I am acting "normal," is it disrespectful... it will seem that I've forgotten dh... I read something the other day that said, sometimes we don't want to get past grief, because "grief" is all we have left of that person. I don't know... just "memorializing" too much I guess, as this weekend begins.

Editing to note, I don't think I am making much progress at all. Looking at my posts from a year ago, they are almost identical.

WELL. Sorry to end on such a gloomy note. I am looking forward to tomorrow -- church, lunch with DS and dgrands together, maybe will see dmom.
I think DGS is going to stay tomorrow night too, because he thinks since DGD got two nights, he must "keep up" with two nights also. LOL.
I AM sooo glad they want to be here so much. Remember, a year ago, I was afraid they would be bored with just me and no dh to keep them entertained. Apparently I'm enough on my own. :D

Good night! I hope you all have a great day tomorrow!
