Good morning / good afternoon, Helian and Laura!

Helian -sorry about the short night. I hope the meeting with your trainer is productive and you find your DMum responsive. Unfortunately, the vicar's email was indeed hacked, but he was already aware, and is making everyone else aware.

Laura, so glad you had plenty of snuggle time with Little J. The parade sounds lovely!

MQ was over at church early, so was.ablemto phone the vicar on his personal.phone, as it was still early. Then she left as she was expecting a delivery, but I was able to deal.with the lady from the College who had an inquiry about her church booking. The service itself was very thought provoking and helpful. Afterwards I made the coffee and cleaned up with DF PM 's help. MQ arrived in time to supervise the team from the College who came with decorations for their Awards Ceremony.

Jude was a little angel at the vet. Good news from her weight check, she has lost 100 g (4 Oz). Very good news from her dental check - jet teeth and gums are all very good. So, no dental work needed for her.

But , the head nurse came in to say that unfortunately their dental machine had just blown up (literally!) so they've had to reschedule Matilda's appointment to next Wednesday. (They will ring if it has to be postponed again). I'm actually slightly relieved, as it means I won't have such a rush tomorrow morning, and I can go out in the evening with a clear conscience, without worrying about leaving her, even with DF CW babysitting her for the evening.

The rain has stopped for now, but it's very muggy and thundery. My plan is to finish my cup of tea, then do a little in my front garden, and then clean the fridge. Anything else I can get done before Waitrose arrive will be a bonus.

Put Matilda to bed early with her supper, as she won't be able to graze all night as usual
NO FOOD FOR MATILDA AFTER 10 PM - not tonight as her surgery is postponed

leave the car at the church (MQ has given permission)
Walk across town to the health centre (much quicker than dealing with rush hour traffic, and parking there is hopeless anyway )
9.40 am (they've changed.it again )and 10.20 am nurse review is appointments -me (why they're not one after the other beats me - it's with the same.nurse )

6.45pm leave for dinner out with DH's amateur dramatic society.

Fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. Dneighbour R2 may fix?
Fix dripping kitchen tap (new washer ?)- DF E has given me the phone number of her plumber . I think DF CW also has a plumber she is happy with?
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP I am now working on 2024
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)
Change health centres to the one nearest us? On hold ATM , but I'll leave it on my list so I don't forget.

Kittykatt, cheering for Jude’s visit going so well. Yikes on the dental machine exploding.
Dh has spells of organization and chaos, he comes from a family of hoarders but I was fooled into thinking otherwise bc his home when I met him was so neat and tidy. He has a roommate that probably deserves thanks for that. I have tried to help him with that, I was very organized when we met, but kids and his repeated stubbornness is definitely a challenge.

Helia, do you get souvenirs/collectables from all the places dh travels?

Laura, I suffered for years feeling bad if my house wasn’t perfect only to realize the mess doesn’t matter. Don’t be hard on yourself.

Hello, L Ann, Peaches, Gma and Bama!

Bama, apparently the dental machine was 15 years old, and started acting up a bit yesterday, and evidently decided it had had enough today. Matilda's appointment may have to be rescheduled again if they can't get a new machine /new part (not sure which?) before Wednesday. We have enough anti inflammatory to last until Wednesday, so it's not really a problem (Matilda doesn't know what's going on) and the vet will prescribe some more if we have to wait longer. Can I ask whether you have ever tried cleaning any of your cats' teeth, and if so, how it worked out? The vet is very keen that we give teeth cleaning of some kind a go, especially with Matilda. I think there's some genetic component to this gingivitis, as Matilda and Jude are fed the same food, so it can't really be diet related. Also Jude is nearly 7 and has a full set of teeth, and Matilda isn't quite 4 and had 2 teeth extracted when she was around 18 months.

I had a spurt of energy, and now the fridge is cleaned out, the filters and spray arms on the dishwasher have been scrubbed, and I've rung the cleaning cycle on the washing machine. I still need to run the dishwasher's cleaning cycle, but I need it to be empty first! Everyone has been fed and Waitrose have delivered and the groceries unpacked and PA.

Going to write my list for tomorrow and then try for an early (ish!) night
