Monday
Benedryl/food for dog
Put away dry tshirt. Some still feel clammy, so hung them around the apartment.
Put away laundry from big drying rack. Left the rack up as I hope to get laundry done today.

Good morning! It is Canada Day and it happened to fall on my weekend, so I have it off. I have made it through one of those gruesome work-all-week-one-day-off and back into another work week, but I survived to tell the tale. My hope is to do laundry and dishes today, but realistically everybody is off work and available to do their laundry, and they are likely to have elevators out of use for moving so going to another floor will be risky business. Nothing stopping me from doing dishes, though.

Kittykatt, thank you for starting us off. I loved that rose. I fell in love with Stockholm Castle when I worked the cash at Home Depot. I think that the board is acting up, which is the reason for your lonely vigil earlier. helia and I have made it in to keep you company. :D

helia, your days are still full but they don't seem overwhelming as they did when you had a bigger workload. Are you finding that you can relax now, or do new tasks keep popping up to get your attention?

Morning all. Very pretty rose again..maybe one day I will find a zone 3 hardy rose . Mom had some. I forget if they are even still there the place is rather overgrown and lots of stuff not there anymore.

The barkeepers should help some but some of those hard build-up stains I need to deal with too. A good pumice stone. Just flush and keep it wet so it doesn't scratch but usually works just takes some scrubbing. Need to do that with mine too.

Hmm what to do today. Both off today. I didn't sleep the best again. Stressed with the colonoscopy thing I have to do. Have to focus a bit on diet today. Pick up the stuff tomorrow. I don't want to.

Do I do my flowerbed? Probably. Finish the last end of it and then dh and I can go get some soil and peatmoss. Then I can plant the few things that were waiting for it. I have some bulbs probably too late. The tulips can go in in September. But the other ones I think should have gone in before planting time. How do gladiolus work kittykat. 🤔

I have a peony and a poppy plant. And a couple of lavatera. Then there's some volunteer malva in my garden bed I can move. There's yellow loose strife and monks hood taking over the bottom bed. And cranesbill geranium. As well as Lady's mantle. Those are too big now. I'll cut them back after they bloom and split some off. The climbing rose would be nice but zone 3? Almost 2? It's cold up here and very short growing season.

Priority list

Basic routine
Kitchen clean
Deal with turkey in the fridge make something with it
Finish rocks on one end of bed
Go buy soil
Spread it
Plant what I have
More weeding in greenhouse

HAPPY CANADA DAY to our Canadian friends!

The nursing home started their Uti protocol, which is somekind of magic powder and mother is clear-headed again. Sunday night she told me that they had taken her out to the garage to get dressed and they put someone else's clothes on her! When I told her that, she responded recognizing that was certainly confusion. She woke up befreo 10am this morning, was ready to eat breakfast and get dressed. Again, much improved from sleeping until noon!
The MD office called to let me know 2 medications had been ordered, specific to the bug that's growing. Mom will ge thtat too. I think I just got the text that they are ready, so I better go pick them up and get her started on them. I'll end up staying to eat lunch and play BINGO. That will fill most of my day, and I had a long declutter and todo list:
Bring things to
Church - we have a special recycling program
Pet Rescue shelter (from dliitle dog)
Salvation Army
Banking - deposit rent, get balances
Pick rhubarb and bake cake
get peony fungus chemical at garden center
finish deadheading peonies
deadhead rose bush
take in mail
order new couch for apartment from IKEA -That will be an online order late in the day!
buy 2 sympathy cards
get a new personal shaver for mother
flip mother's blanket into dryer
wash/ work with stains/ on a sweatsuit outfit

AND before any of those things, eat some breakfast and get dressed!

It worked out well that you got a breather before you go back to your full schedule, helia.

(((Lauralind))) I hope that the prep for the colonoscopy is not too bad and that it goes without a hitch. A good day in the garden might be just what you need to take your mind off of it. Casper would be delighted to hang out there with you.

Hi, Peaches.

Monday
Benedryl/food for dog
Put away dry tshirt. Some still feel clammy, so hung them around the apartment.
Put away laundry from big drying rack. Left the rack up as I hope to get laundry done today.
Took advantage of the fact that almost all of the good cutlery is in the dw waiting to be put away. Wiped out the cutlery containers for that side of the cutlery drawer.
Swapped out dish cloths.
Started filling dish basin. Frantic search for dish detergent. Found it clipped to the inaccessible part of the dw cart. Pulled out dw cart, which will allow me to put those dishes away.
Washed out water bottles and coffee maker parts.
Wiped down accessible surfaces
Washed some containers
Put pasta pot and strainer in to soak
Put away the dishes and cutlery from the dw.
Germane came to the kitchen wanting her treat food because that’s how it works on work days. I wanted to keep my hands clean and dry so that I could keep putting dishes away.
Germane peed on her pee pad and tried various strategies to draw my attention to her accomplishment so that she could get her reward. She did, eventually, after the dishes were put away. Twice, as an apology for the wait.

That is good news about your dmother's improvement, Gma. Enjoy your bingo.

Hope you have a good day off doggedly. Dishes you can do... I just washed a few pans again. Kitchen is clean. Making breakfast now. Waffles and berries. I'm not supposed to have berry seeds . Maybe I can get mostly the juice but it's just the first day. Its next Tues. So is it today or tomorrow. Unsure. I'll have to go shopping and get different bread.

Dad called while I was typing the last post. 730 am. Early. Mom was actually up and had breakfast and such. He thinks he's fine with care. Ok... well I wish I could get someone that would let him get out a few times a week. No one can do it right.....

Not a regular one Bama. They are hard to find here and even harder to find one he's happy with. I think he does ok getting out just I am struggling with him thinking she's still in bed and one day she might not stay there. I help when I can but I can't give every day off.

I should get up and go outside. Do some here. Dig a bit more. There's just enough bigger rocks under the surface that the roots of perrenial stuff are going to not go around.
