Good morning /good afternoon, Helian, Laura and Peaches.
The new fridge is so much bigger, Helian! I can see everything that's in there, so nothing gets hidden.

The challenge now will be to not over- buy fresh produce.
Laura, that's a very difficult position to be in. IMHO, you should definitely take some time for yourself, to keep up with your responsibilities at home. Sorry about the bird, but, according to my vet, birds go into shock very easily and often die from that, so it's highly likely the little bird would have died from shock anyway.
I'm sitting in my garden enjoying the evening sun, now it's cooled down to a comfortable level. I've watered the borders, and some things are starting to perk up already

I made peanut butter cookies this afternoon, as they cook very quickly, so I didn't need the oven on for too long.
DH is back and cooking jambalaya for supper. Apparently he had a very nice time with DBIL today. I still need to put the hose away and work on one of my listings for eBay. I don't sell stuff on there very often, as it's a lot of work, but it's supposed nto be hot again tomorrow, so there should be another chance then to work on it, as DH is out again, so I don't have to cook lunch.

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt, and for the good advice. You are right, it's my panic that is making me think that I have to turn my apartment into a cover for Home And Garden. There's only the dw to stash. Everything else was put out of sight before I went on holiday. Luckily I don't have piles of trash lying around the apartment or flour-based foods outside of plastic containers to attract bugs. It's mostly catching up on the dishes, do a good vacuuming and clean the bathroom. Their goal is to check for leaks and cracks and check that the tenant is not bringing cockroaches or bedbugs into the building. I'm going to have accept looking like a lunatic though. I started saving the boxes from Germane's pee pads to create space once I have the time. The idea is that space is so tight here that it can interfere with decluttering. So I just fill these roomy boxes with stuff that I'm not using right now and take it to the basement locker. Once I have breathing space, I bring them up one or two at a time to go through. I love that part. I call it Shopping In The Basement. It's like getting a stream of gifts from someone who has exactly the same taste as you, LOL. So, I have this collection of of empty pee pad boxes waiting for my summer project. Then last week I got a WalMart gift card because I'm cashing out my bonuses at work. I only buy pee pads from WalMart, as they have much better prices than anywhere else I shop and the quality is better than some. After supporting vendors of gift cards I know enough to use them immediately, so I ordered pee pads. Well, the WalMart vendor was having a fabulous sale on pee pads, like pre-pandemic prices, so I ordered 3 boxes of 150. Which are now stacked up at the front door because there's nowhere to put them. So I look like one of those hoarders who gets a weird attachment to one thing like toilet paper or china dolls and has stacks of it everywhere, LOL. I will just have to comfort myself that when they come next year, there will be a great improvement to see.
I find it so funny to think of Freddie walking along on a leash like a gentleman, Kittykatt. If only his vet techs could see him like this!
I'm glad that you are enjoying the new fridge.
Safe trip home, helia. I hope that the conference went well.
Lauralind, I must be evil because I literally laughed out loud picturing Casper snatching the bird out of the air after all of the care had been taken to rescue it. I wouldn't hurt a bird, I promise. I think that it's like P.G. Wodehouse's description of accidentally dropping the cat onto the bald head of the person below the window. Would never consider doing it, but the image was just so funny.
Hi, Peaches

Doggedly you made me laugh again. Of course the morning I slept in and missed all the adventures
Yup don't panic. I'm sure the inspection will be fine.
It was an ok day though it went completely different than we planned. Way too much drama for first thing in the morning though. As we had to deal with printer issues for dad. Ugh. Not even going there ds 26 ended up going to the house before he came here. We didn't end up finding a machine which I'm not surprised as we should have booked something. But dad's going to help and probably rent his old one back for a couple days. Ds wanted to finish his moving project all their stuff is still in dad's trailer so dh went along and helped him put it in the storage units. Ddil and dgs had gone to the city with her sister.
Anyway I got a few things done besides ds getting moving finished. He brought 2 loads laundry. Mine is done too. Food. I actually vacuumed everything. A few groceries including cat litter. And I have the stuff so when we go to mom and dad's tomorrow I can put up new curtains. And jump now finished music prep. Oh and Casper got his walk.
Other thing that was eventful. I thought maybe I could help by mowing while dh helped ds. Um. We got a new mower. Dad's zero turn. Turns and controls by levers instead of steering wheel and forward reverse. Oh my goodness I cannot drive that thing. Way too different. I almost had a panic attack trying.

i love mowing with the other machine.

That mower sounds like driving standard when you have only ever driven automatic, Lauralind. It would confuse me too!
I just don't have any energy to work on anything tonight. I put away the dry dishes and covered up the dw. Anything else can wait for tomorrow.
Good night!
