Good morning!
I do like a good tuna sandwich although make chicken salad more often so people won’t comment on the fishy smell lol.

Trissie, hope the long days go by quickly.

Kittykatt, I read that you took Fred out with the rubbish, oops. You can have this weather. We came home and napped after being in the heat running errands most of the afternoon. It drains me.

Gma, hope the gas company comes earlier rather than later so you can carry on with your day. I do dread when I have to wait on service calls.

We ventured out yesterday so I stopped by a thrift store to get a crystal plate I had seen before but it was gone so I got some small crystal dessert dishes instead which will do nicely. They’re the rectangles with a circle in the corner to place a cup, nice for coffee and cookies maybe. Or a plant. Idk why I got them now but they’re pretty and my kids will just have to deal with them when I’m gone. I’m not going to fret about it.

Time to jump on some dailies.

Bama, I regularly take Germane out with the rubbish, though she comes home with me and the rubbish stays behind, LOL.
That could be a strategy for raising adult children: if they annoy you, spend part of their inheritance on clutter for them to clear up later.

Thanks for starting us off, trissie. I hope that the madness is not that mad.
I love a tuna sandwich. For a while, I think in the 90's or early 2000's tuna spiked in price to the point that salmon was often less expensive. I'm not sure if tuna prices have come down, or if everything has gone up in price, but the price seems reasonable again so I am back to happily chowing down on tuna sandwiches. In summer they have to compete with cucumber sandwiches and tomato sandwiches when fresh produce is available.

Good for you, Gma, pushing back at the learned incompetence that increases your labour and gives your dh a free pass. The young women now are much better at calling that out, but our generation was expected to put up with it.
Those all day appointments bring me back to the bad old days of Bell Canada. I can't get over how much their service has improved.

Hooray for a rain-free morning, so that you got to enjoy your time outside, Kittykatt.

Today's main goals are to wash the dishes and clean the bathroom. If I get those done, I will feel ready to face the apartment inspection tomorrow.
Tomorrow is my last day of work, and after that the first project will be to print out the return label they have sent me and pack up their equipment to return. I am really not good at assembling things or fitting them back into their original boxes, so I'll see what I can pack and how much is left over, and then go to the Purolator store (luckily, it's nearby) show them the label and ask what my options are for including the rest in more boxes with the same label.

Lol at Germaine the boomerang. Throw her out and she comes right back.
Yes I am either taking revenge or leaving priceless treasures. Who knows? We have a lot of thrift stores popping up selling all of the stuff I’ve donated through the years. I’d be rich if only I had kept it all. 70s stuff is very trendy. One dd buys most of her clothes at thrift stores. I’m trying to get some nice furnishings for “Hollywood” and have been fortunate to find well taken care of items for cheap. Of course I get let astray often. I had found some old spice tins a few weeks ago and was like nope don’t need it. The dry mustard tin actually had mustard still in it. Well, I found a wooden spice rack for a couple bucks and got it so now I HAVE to go fill it with old spices.

Pets are taken care of. I was up to the gauntlet thrown down by the cats and floors are now clean. Challenge accepted and obliterated (for now). Kitchen wiped down. Meat thawing for spaghetti. Ate some cereal and watched some news. What’s next? I’ll be back later with tadas.

How was the madness when you got home, trissie? re: your comments yesterday about pregnancy, here, a full term pregnancy is 40 weeks. Is it the same where you are?

I love a good tuna salad sandwich. I ate them occasionally growing up. My mom put sweet relish in the tuna salad. And fresh celery for a bit of a crunch.

Yesterday, we packed up, traveled, and got our perishable groceries without incident. Once at the bnb, we unloaded the car and dh and I made a yummy meal -- after washing dishes and counter tops for dd29 (celiac disease). We have leftovers which will probably be eaten another evening. After cleaning up after dinner, we all went to Rialto Beach to watch the sun set. It was misty and very beautiful with so much driftwood and small projections of rocks and land close to the shore.

Today, there's not a cloud in the sky and it is sunny with a forecast high of 86*F. I'm currently in the bnb by myself. CM finished reviewing the spreadsheet, so I decided to take time this morning to do the GGT emails. I knew doing that would mean I'd miss the first outing of the day, but that's OK. I also don't mind some time alone. The whole crew went back to Rialto Beach to catch low tide. They'll be back for lunch and then we'll go check out the other well known Olympic National Park Beach this afternoon. Parking may be an issue - we'll see. We need to pick up a few things at the grocery store as well; this bnb only gave us 3 garbage bags and 3 dw pods. We're here for 4 days. . .

But the bnb has nice space for us with a large open living area flanked by big picture windows on 2 sides. The windows look out on clearings surrounded by tall pine forest. There's also a large deck in the back of the house if we want to get more up close and personal with one of the clearings.

Are you traveling, helian? Where is Rialto Beach? I looked on the map app but it just gave me a city in Los Angeles, is that correct? How’s the weather? Beaches here are very warm, afternoon thunderstorms have been helping cool it off some. We are having issues with ants and flies (we aren’t at the beach, maybe 20 miles north or so), any bugs there?
The dishes are dainty and pretty, think 50s era tea party. They had multiple sets so I’m not sure if someone was a collector and then they all got donated or multiple people donated at the same time. I got two sets, non matching but I couldn’t decide which to get.

I spent time in the kitchen and laundry room, got a load of laundry going, tidied the laundry room and put up items from our grocery haul, got spaghetti cooking, cut up tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, and a squash for salad, put away items on the counter, tossed a rotten squash, the turkey will be happy with his supper tonight.

Next I think I will vacuum and mop.
