Hello, all. I have been lounging and playing my game on my tablet, and now it's time to get started. I'd like to have a phone visit with db, check on the status of attendance on our dinner out group, text a former colleague, then mostly doing stuff around the apartment.

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. I'm glad that you have realized how your body is reacting to the heat, and adjusting your routines to accommodate.

CostumeLady, I think that this is what modern retirement looks like. The change from 5 days per week to part time, or casual work, or artisan work, focussing on what interests you if possible.

Bama, my db prefers to drive at night too, for the same reason. When he used to drive from northeastern Quebec to Ontario, he used to do the 2-day trip in one night by driving for 17 hours and missing all of the rush hours. I used to stop off in Quebec City for the night and make it a two-day trip, complete with sitting in rush hour traffic, when I would visit him. I'm so happy that he has moved to Quebec City so that I only have to do half the trip to see him now.
I can imagine that your dd2 was not thrilled to be woken up so early after her late night. Now that she's up, I hope that she is enjoying her time with you both.

It's been one of those nice, quiet but productive days . I had a nice chat with Dnextdoorneighbour C before my walk, and was further delayed by Freddie demanding so e.ri.e.on my lap. I then walked along by the stream.amd met .dog walking lady -also C,- and had another nice chat. Then²222 no I came home and worked in the garden until lunch. This afternoon I cleaned the hall,.stairs and sitting room. Supper.was red onion pork sausages,.mashed potato.amd.baked beans. Them Matilda decided it was her turn for a lap I'm in bed now, and Matilda is curled up on the pillow.

My dear grandson mowed my lawn. Then with his father, they cleaned out my rain gutters. They said they were very very full, so full that the dpwnspouts apparently were totally plugged. I was not aware. Dear ones! Then they rinsed everything out for me too.
Mother did well at her eye appointment. I rewarded her with a root beer float afterwards. She sometimes has diffiuclty finding her words, but I was successful in getting her into and out of the car with little difficulty.
When we got back to the NH she didn't know where she was. She didn't want to be at the NH, and wanted to leave with me. I need to recognize that she is like a child who doesn't want to be separated from mother. She feels safe and secure when I am wiht her, and doesn't want me to leave. Or please take me with you. Her adaptation to the NH is less than it was 2 years ago.

I'm tired - we had loud and bright thunderstorms more on than off, until after 2am. And I was up at 0730. It's too early to go to bed, but maybe not too early for a little nap/ rest.
