It is 8:10 a.m. here. Again, I'm in Michigan -- in the Eastern time zone. I need to be otd by 9:15 to meet K and S2 at the coffee shop.

Today, I'm back in the classroom for the first time in 2 months! I feel a little nervous. LOL! My class is super small (3 students)-- our enrollment is much lower than usual. We will see if that persists.

Good morning, all. We are sharing the unpleasant heat with you, Kittykatt. It's 30 C with Humidex of 38 C. I am telling myself that the earlier I do the laundry the better it will be, as my building is not air conditioned. We have individual air conditioners that we set up in our apartments. I hope that your DH doesn't interfere with your Dreaded Phone Calls.--oh, I see that he did. Hopefully the calls will go better tomorrow.

Bama, I am going to have to cede my title of Not A Morning Person to you. I was asleep a good hour before you posted here, I think. I guess that your tolerance for heat and humidity is higher than Kittykatt's and mine, as it is more normal for climate. I hope, anyway, for your comfort.

Helia, happy first day of school! Yep, I was born and raised in Alabama, moved from near Mississippi to near Florida, and dh works across the state line in Florida where they build wind turbines. One dd lives in Mississippi and one goes to school in mid northern Alabama so we are all spread out. Gives me an excuse to explore new to me cities in all 3 states.

Dogged, I’ll be handing the title back to you if that’s ok. It’s throwing me off any type of schedule of accomplishments. I deal with humidity by staying indoors as much as possible and cranking the air conditioning up. All of my doors and windows remain fogged over from the temperature difference lol.

LAnn, are you in Canada too? I haven’t noticed you started with zero, and haven’t seen that before so wondering about it … is it Canadian teaching? Or am I just oblivious to everything these days which is quite possible here in my bubble.

I haven’t been up long so no tadas to post about. Guess I should make some… off to the races!

I saw a documentary on public TV about lightbulbs, including Tesla working for Edison, controversy about Edison paying him, and various power sources for various bulbs. Edison won the light bulb, but apparently Tesla's would have used less electricity, differently sourced. (I only catch a miute here and there when TV is on, because I do other things.)

have started power washing my back steps, I have 4 of 5 done, plus a perimeter around my deck needs to be done, but I have to stop to get dressed appropriately to take mother to the dr. She doesn't want to go because it interferes with BINGO! but it was the only appoinment available. Even so we had to wait 6 weeks.

Bama, that sounds nice to be able to visit so many cities in 3 states! I haven't been in the proper south of the US much. We did live in Austin, TX for 8 years before moving to Ann Arbor, MI. Are you in the Eastern time zone too?

Ooh, Doggedly, now I do remember that you are in Ottawa. You wrote something yesterday that made me think you were farther west. I think Kathryn in Canada is near you?
