Morning all. Trissie I just googled the cake too. Compared to the cake shop decorating you do that is pretty simple
But how on earth do you get the layered look. You are always so productive you can do it. I hope the party goes well.

Kittykat enjoy your sunny day. Hopefully next week will turn productive for dh next week.

Gma I get the laundry. Dad takes a while to get it folded so it all comes to my old bed in a huge pile and I sometimes fold it. Mom will get stuff on her as well. Come to think of it though I think maybe dad was noticing or she is having to wash everything more often? She went through a stage where she'd be in the same shirt for a couple weeks if you didn't take it away for wash. She'd find something on her sleeve and hide it. Then put it on the next day again. Seems less so lately.

Speaking of berries. I bought that bottle of pectin. Today I am going to put the jam back in the pot. Add some pectin and boil it more. Try and get them to seal. I usually don't have trouble sealing jars. If not in the freezer they go.

It's super wet outside I think a bit of a storm overnight. Wouldn't be shocked if the rest of the berries are gonna just fall when I touch them. Oh well. Inside day. Jam. Ds wants cheesecake. Maybe I can start with some detail cleaning.

Other thing I have to decide... was dad .. yes I think. Hinting without asking for some help cleaning. He has booked the appraiser for selling the house. Next year he says. They are coming Tuesday. But he was mentioning it needs a little cleaning. Ugh. Wasn't my plan and he didn't outright ask. I don't know. We'll see. My house needs attention too. All the details. And my craft room is still a dump room. I'd like one day for it to be usable... the diligent daughter says dad's house.. other me says I'm tired and my house needs help and and...

Priority list

Basic routines
Kitchen clean all the way for once
Reseal jam
Laundry but leave room for ds26to bring some
Whb
Message sister-- should I- we do dad's
Probably music once A sends songs
Grocery store

Today's tada list

Finish qt
Soak in tub instead of shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Take sheets off bed for wash

Add stuff to dw and turn on
Find pot and put jam in to boil
Rehash jars etc and Reseal
Finish tidying kitchen all the way
Declutter island again

Actually the layered look is super easy to achieve - I use a different recipe (double layer of bananas with crumbs between them), but this one gives
you a good idea:

(just disregard the Czech instruction, it's for a box version of the cake)

trissie, that was so interesting to watch that cake baking video!! I wondered if it might need more bananas - I see you do a double layer. Looks SO good!!
What will you do today, Lauralind? Caretakers (like you) need to be taken care of so they can do caretaking tasks well. . . Maybe you'd feel better about helping your dad if your own house got some attention first. Can your dad make any cleaning progress on his own? Would cleaning for an appraiser be a huge task?
LOL @ Jude being psychic, Kitty! I knew it!

My evening last night was very unproductive - but quite fun and relaxing! I made progress on the jigsaw puzzle that M brought back from FL for me. I also finished binge watching The Residence on Netflix; I was a little disappointed in the ending, to be honest. I wanted a greater mystery or something. But it was still a fun who dunnit. I also ate too many Bambas (Israeli peanut butter puff snack); I found them at Kroger and was so surprised to see them that I bought a pack, thinking I could control myself. I did in the afternoon -- but not when I got the evening munchies. I won't buy them again unless I'm sharing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bamba_%28snack%29 -if you're interested. But be warned that this could be dangerous information if you like peanut butter. . .

Late night  late morning  I missed my early morning window to jog. It is already in the mid 80s. *sigh*

Dd29 called and I'm going to meet her at the park with Fable at 11! We don't think Fable has ever been to this park - or maybe any park? Dd27 is pretty protective of her. Since she's up north backpacking in the rain, her older and less protective sister dd29 is watching her - and taking her to a busy park. This park is on a river that has a lot of geese, swans, and ducks. There might be a lot of people (and other dogs) there as well. . . I wonder how she will react to all the stimuli?

Thanks helian. I think my house is getting attention first. And ds if he is in a social mood needs some activity together. Fixing jam. Maybe his cheesecake idea. Other than leaving him alone to tend to grandpa.

As for the house? I think he can do it if he works on it a little at a time. Kitchen. Vacuum. Generally put stuff away. Downstairs is fine cause they don't go down there much. Outside might need a little attention. I don't think they mind lived in just not broken or damaged or unkempt?? Advice? I've never sold a place before.

Ds is still sleeping. Had my soak. Laundry going with sheets and some qt. Next up the cake video and get going.

Since your DDad is just getting an appraisal and not actually getting it ready to sell or even list I wouldn’t worry about it, Laura. They might have a list of issues that affect the appraisal but there is a lot of time to decide to fix or not fix them. Enjoy your celebration for DBD, Trissie. I definitely need to keep those snacks out of my house, helian! Morning kittykatt.

We had a nice time at the Dragon Boat Races and I got a lot of walking in so I may not have to walk again today. I am currently on hold with the bank. They finally got an account of Mom’s where I was the POD merged with my accounts but in the meantime disabled my online bill paying access. ;)

Good point lann. My sister was thinking we should have postponed it a bit to declutter and fix a few things outside. I think the guy will tell him what could be fixed to get more value. The place is absolutely beautiful. The house is old but been fixed up a lot. But the yard is very neglected from health issues . Stuff everywhere outside. Too big a project. I will see what dh thinks.

Jam is done. Better. And should thicken more. Ds had opened the half jar and put it in the fridge and ok it was not completely runny but this will be better.

Priority list

Basic routines
Kitchen clean all the way for once
Reseal jam
Laundry but leave room for ds26to bring some
Whb
Message sister-- should I- we do dad's
Probably music once A sends songs
Grocery store

Today's tada list

Go out and see if there's more berries
Check greenhouse
I should do Casper walk it stopped raining maybe

Finish qt
Soak in tub instead of shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Take sheets off bed for wash

Add stuff to dw and turn on
Find pot and put jam in to boil
Rehash jars etc and Reseal
Finish tidying kitchen all the way
Declutter island again

I'm really pokey today. I stayed in bed until noon. It was after 2 that I wen to sleep. I fell asleep reading, so I don't konw exactly when. And my fitbit was on the charger, so that was no help!
I'm dressed, have had something to eat, but need to take my "morning" calcium. It has some vitamin D in it, and I have to get it in early in the day because I have discovered that my body thinks Vti D means sunshine, and it keeps me awake if I take it too late in the day!

2 priorities- about 30 minutes in my sewing room
empty dehumidifiers.
Later, empty dw
