It was an Interesting article, FFB. Luckily most of the time I enjoy having Little Bit, Laura. I am going to have to figure out what to do with my retirement time next year when she is in school! It is going to be a big change. The problem currently with DD32 is a good one. The new meds mean nothing in her body works like it used to so I am in the process of figuring out the new normal so I am not always sure what to do. I was able to get an appointment with her regular doctor tomorrow. It is hard to figure out is the best course of action when we see random people at her regular doctor’s practice.

Happy Monday!
I'm back! I had really lovely - but exhausting - five days in Paris. I did 3-4 different activities each day and walked so much that once I got to the hotel and collapsed on the bed, it was hard to convince myself to take the 5 steps to the bathroom to shower and brush my teeth

But I got to see and experience so much and spend as much time as I would want on things that interest me only, which was a rare treat.
kittykatt, I thought of you when visiting Monet's gardens in Giverny, and Queen's hamlet in Trianon, do check those out (at least in photos), their gardens are SO NICE!
Frenchie, I don't know if it was Paris or if it's the whole France, but I was amazed at how people would constantly start little chats - be it the locals or the tourists. I don't think I actually spoke to anybody while in Vienna last year, but this time, there were so many interesting people I met and spoke with - a Belgique guy with a Chinese wife at Giverny, a Maroccan-Algerian couple who sat next to me at dinner in Quartier latin, a Brazilian exchange student with whom I exchange photo services (I snap a photo of you and you snap a photo of me, OK?

) at Arc de Triumphe, and a New Zealander widow and her son in my hotel. I kinda felt like in an Agatha Christie book, where all those tourists would always talk with one another!
Yay for good problems with DD32,
L.Ann, you both so deserve good news!
I'm not caught up, why do you need doxycycline,
helia?
any salad with blue cheese sounds good,
Bama!
Anyway, it's normal (work from home) day for me, I need to get going again!

That's an interesting article on the ring. I was intrigued by the mention of the Civil War, as I didn't realize that part of English history. So I looked up a little. I noted a strong parliament wanted to limit the King's power.
(In contrast to a weak Congress acquiescing to a narcissistic president)
I'm glad that your monarchy returned, even with a change in functioning.
Welcome back trissie. Helian was bit by a tick, so is being treated for Lyme disease.
FFB, it's difficult to set limits on reading, isn't it! We did reading as part of bedtime ritual. Limited to 2 books. Afternoon reading was chapter in ( mostly) Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Sometimes a substitute for nap, when napping was not so much needed, but Mom ( me) needed quieter time!
Today I have lunch with my retired work colleagues. Its menu is mostly breakfast items. I'm looking forward to trying their gravlox ( smoked salmon) eggs Benedict. And of course seeing old friends. Then visit Mom briefly because I have exercise class mid- afternoon, then community supper, and bring to dfBS. Somewhere in there I have a messy kitchen to tackle, and cookies to bake for dbro arrival tomorrow ( and maybe bread? As he loves my homemade bread)

Ooh, I've missed you trissie! That sounds like such a lovely vacation!! I discovered on Saturday that I have Lyme disease - bullseye mark on my leg. Apparently, I got bit by an infected tick during my trip to Maine.
I'm on doxycycline for 10 days.
Lunch sounds delicious and fun, Gma.
Well, I got the insurance issue sorted out. For some reason, the urgent care's system said I was ineligible. A very nice lady in their customer service dept. called the insurance company with me on the line - and another very nice woman confirmed that I was eligible and active. A letter stating so has been sent, and the urgent care will manually add that info. So strange. Why would their system say I was ineligible? It feels good to get that sorted, and the 2 women were very kind and helpful.
Next:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- visit Mom
TaDas!
- took med

helia, congrats on sorting out insurance ! Good luck with the antibiotics, sometimes it's not exactly fun, but way more preferable than Lyme's disease (yikes).
Congrats, Gma, I agree with trissie, any tada deserves celebrating. Yes, I'm setting a time limit when reading books, or I say "ok we read 2 chapters". But there is guilt sometimes, especially on the days when I'm home and I'm supposed to be 100% mom.
trissie, I'm so glad you had a nice trip and were able to see things that interest you only (I so get it after two weeks abroad with 2 kids including one who was sick for 4 days). I'm not sure we French people are chatty folk, but some are, maybe especially in the summer and with a woman who seems to enjoy herself. I don't think I ever saw Giverny, or maybe my parents took me there against my will as a young teen and I found it too boring to remember. I would love to see those gardens now.
L.Ann I'm curious about Greek fries too! (as for the loaded part, I have an idea!) Google seems to think it's because they're fried in olive oil ?
A few things were done, less than half what I had intended but maybe 75% of what could sensibly be done without exhausting myself. I hope I can relax enough to have a good night's sleep - the last two were difficult, I think it's hormone-related insomnia again.
Tomorrow : payroll for me, daycare for both DSs, MrNG has a work-search-related meeting in the early afternoon.
TADAs
enjoyed quiet house while kids got their hair cut
swept patio
cooked veggies for 3 payroll lunches
healthy snacks to kids
school supplies sorted, labelled, DS7's supplies nicely arranged in his bag, DS9 will do it himself
showered and washed hair
TODO
decide what to wear at payroll Tue and Wed - is there anything to hand wash ?
make list of clothes needed for each kid, see what we have, prepare shopping list
general cleaning and organising ? hum, no
camping seats to clean
