I'm glad that your lunch went well yesterday, Kittykatt, and that your df is coming to terms with that difficult situation.

I understand your concern over your dgs's shoes, vergerswife.

((L.Ann and DD32 and Little Bit))

LOL, helia, I am picturing scrapbooked and papier machéed puppies participating in craft day.

I'm not sure what to focus on for today. I realized that this is the holiday weekend so, while I should be going to Costco to activate my membership, I'm afraid that it's going to be nuts there. But... when I was at my dinner out with my df, I was remarking on how weirdly good the traffic was at rush hour. She explained to me that that it was the last week before school so a lot of parents had taken a few days off. So maybe they will be out of town and it won't be that bad.

Well, I got the brushing and mopping done, then dh came back home and suggested we go out to Runcorn, good idea. Runcorn is an old fashioned unusual town beside the river Mersey with a bridge over the Mersey. We had a nice meal. On the way dgs had a weep but was fine afterwards.

I am curious as to how you like Costco once you get there Dogged. DD40 loves it but I always feel like I spend too much at those type of stores. Yay for a nice outing, vergers.

Hello everyone!

Helia, I hope you have a lovely time crafting today.

I'm sure Little Bit was pleased to see her Dad, L.Ann.

Vergers, I'm glad you had a nice outing. Is DGS resistant to the thought of wearing new shoes or the actual process of having to buy them (going to a busy shop, having to try shoes on in front of people etc). If it's the latter, some shoe shops publish a size chart so if he will let you measure his feet then you can get a good idea of what size he should be. And I think oldest like M& S will let you return the shoes if they don't fit, so long as they haven't been worn outside.

Dogged, sometimes everyone thinks the shops are going to be really busy for a holiday weekend, so no one goes, with the result that the shops can sometimes be surprisingly empty!

Hi, Peaches!

This morning we had lots of heavy showers, so I had a little time in the garden, but the afternoon was beautiful so I've started my autumn clearing up -autumn seems to be coming early this year - and cut down some of the montbretia, moved a Japanese anemone that had really grown too big for its no place, and pruned a rose. When I finally came in, there was just time to fold laundry and PA before I fed the kitties and cooked our supper. Matilda is now on my lap! :D

(I never know what color my phone is going to do. Only my computer is consistent. I'm with my phone at Mom's house, with her. After my huge day yesterday, we had 2 childhood friends show up today at lunchtime. Fortunately there was a lasagna in the freezer, and it was still good, so that's what we had, plus a salad, and my homemade brownies with ice cream for dessert.
Dbro is working on cleaning out Mom's garage while here. It's turning into a huge -er job than I had anticipated. I have been little to no help for him.
Just got Mom to lay down on the couch. She's way more tired than she realizes. And after I take care of the commode and empty the DW, I will rest also. If she's not needing something at the time I finish. I'm exhausted too.
