Food tracking = 425 days logging
__ Calories = 1598 average in September. Goal is <1200
__ Protein = 31% average in September. Goal is >36%
Fruit/Vegetable servings = 8 average daily in September. Goal is >5
Steps = 6664 average in September. Goal is >6k.
__ Hours of moving my body = 8 hours a day average in September. Goal is >9
Exercises = 10 Goal is >7
Weight change +0.4 in September average weight compared to August average
Argh! I've been indulging in too many processed carbs, and my food choices are spiraling in the wrong direction. My calorie intake is skyrocketing. What should I do?
1 - Ignore it and pretend it's not happening.
2 - Panic!
3 - Take a deep breath and go back to eating what makes my body feel good?
I'm going with option #3.

Re: Health and Fitness September 2025
I have just discovered this thread, and hope I can join? Those are definitely 10 good habits! I'm not sure how it works, but I am happy to see it. This past year I had first bout with COVID, and a double whammy - it came back after getting better. Then I had (continue somewhat) foot issues and none of my regular walking for several months. So my activity has been low. I need to lose 20 pounds to be at my good weight, for most of my clothes!
I'm getting back to at least short walks (10-15 minutes, and gradually increase to more as my foot tolerates)
I really need to pay attention to eating more vegetables and whole fruits.
Plus I am going to try fasting - just drink water- 1 day a week. Day of week will vary, depending on what else is going on.
I must focus on taking my calcium plus good general multivitamin every day, as it is difficult to get all the nutrients in with lower calorie diet.
And I may start an adventure with vegetarian food 1 or 2 days a week.
So far this month:
Sept 1
Sept 2

Of course you can join, Gma! This is a monthly thread, I'm not getting here enough myself, but it's open to everyone! Glad to see you venturing in!
I had a return visit from COVID myself the last time I had it - was August 2025 but I've stayed healthy since.

Absolutely, GMA. I'm in recuperation mode, myself. So don't post as much in this thread as I used to but often read and hope to post more in future. At an odd point since dr disapproves of any more weight loss right now. I've been supposed to try to gain a little and incrementally, that's happening. This is not because I am thin or even all that slim, but just to keep stable.
Enjoy your vegetarian days. I have been vegetarian for a decade now. My husband was actually the first to begin vegetarian eating, fighting a serious kidney condition. I joined him for support and my dd who was living at home at the time became mostly vegetarian. He has normal kidney function now. Since his really sick times, he has expanded his diet somewhat, not a lot, including fish for instance. But he's very much a beans-every-day guy still.
I have started back with Evening Primrose Oil again. All supplements were outlawed by dr during treatments. I was especially looking forward to getting back to that one because it's good for hair growth. Of course, with supplements, you never know what is helping necessarily. It could simply be that I was destined to have as much hair growth as I do, but it is a nice "Pixie" length now. Can't say Pixie cut because it's never been cut, lol.
I hear from those who listen to me (smile) that my voice is back to normal. Napping is a constant. Doctors say keep napping. Humorous, because it's not as if I am making a decision to nap. The nap just finds me and sends me horizontal!

Harriet, that is super to hear that vegetarian eating improved dh kidneys! Thanks for the welcome.
I have a recipe for lentil soup and something in the paper that includes chickpeas and citrus - and some other things.
Today was another diet failure ; I started well, but when I went to chruch, the deacon had made a fabulous cake and homemade ice cream that she wanted to share with the group. How could I turn down home made ice cream! And I had leftovers from a restaurant from yesterday that Ididn't want to waste.
But I did eat half of a large apple as a whole (meaning unprocessed) fruit. [Not quite enough to earn a *star for the day]

Good to see you, Gma! Of course you couldn't refuse the homemade ice cream - as well as being delicious (and ironically probably healthier than many store bought varieties as it wouldn't have had all the additives and "stuff" like emulsifiers added) you wouldn't have wanted to offend your hostess.
Harriet, that's very interesting about DH being vegetarian and it helping his kidneys.
Thursday:
I've done my exercises for today: 4 hearts

Yesterday I drank 6 glasses of water : 2 hearts

I've done 30 minutes with the lightbox: 4 hearts
