stream crossign - filling dw, washing some recycling, turned on dw
put away some food
put on a load of laundry

coming across bears: I need bear sticks/bear spray
dd older became overwhelmed - it's always hard. - I convinced her to stay at work. re: mom and thinks she can control things - she is feeling better now.

hiking pretend: put away laundry - climbing the stairs will be looked at as climbing a rock wall or a mountain

Today's big time block / Writers Wed. ... got notes entered into a comp. notebook.
Realized I needed the M. health one see J & C for as to why.
So I got that ready to use I put promts and exercises in the comp. book...

Then we headed out.
Walked saw a young deer hangs out at the same yard a lot.
The walk gave me time to breathe and process all the exercises.

All kinds of shapes and diff. sized makes my brain work differently a good thing
I assume!

Spiffed up some on the counters dishes are put away, enjoyable as I can gaze out the window
as I do that.

Taking a much needed break to regroup.

random happenings today -
** DD14 delivered to school
** meet DH at the end of the driveway to have impromptu discussion and decisions about changes. We have big metal wagon wheels on each side of our driveway entrance. I want to make them more visible and unforgettable so our driveway entrance will be known without even needing the actual address. We discussed some options and are both leaning toward agreement on what to do.
** Took DH to get his hair cut (thank you for the card that reminds me every 37 days) and ears/nose hairs waxed.
** Picked up paint for wagon wheels project.
** Donut shop because DH has a huge sweet tooth.
** Grocery store for things we can't get at Sam's
** Park to walk trails for 30 minutes
** Homeschool assignments checked and verified with DS17 that he did great.
** made a big pot of my favorite soup. Multiple protein sources & vegetables

DS17 boss left him a list of things to do written in cursive. I don't think many in upcoming generation can read/write cursive. Our school and homeschool have been using cursive since 4th grade, but this note was hard even for me and DH to read/decipher. I uploaded it to a couple AI and neither one of them could read it correctly. I find this somewhat surprising and concerning. If you want your notes to not be read in the future, then just use cursive.
His boss is mid 70's and doesn't text. The struggle for a span of 3 generations to communicate with each other can be real.

I have a couple hours to relax before picking up DD14 from school and taking her to the city for bath soaking and hair washing. I will be doing a small Sam's run while that is happening.

I had students (9th grade) who had trouble reading cursive. It seems kinda sad.

So -- I have s2s and I'm watching Wagon Train on tv. (I see a trend here in my mornings and I have got to get a new routine.)
I did try to call my aunt -- she called yesterday, asking if I had seen any arrangements for funeral of young woman (52) who used to live next door to my grandmother. She passed away Monday, and the funeral is going to be Friday. I'm wondering if my aunt will want me to go to that with her -- her daughter will be working -- but the funeral is not too far from daunt's home, and unless she just doesn't want to go by herself, I think she will be fine to drive there by herself. I'll go if she asks me to -- I've known this lady since I was a child also, and I would probably get to meet some friends of my dad's and grandparents. This lady was mentally challenged -- Down's syndrome? I don't know -- but it's sad; both her parents passed away years ago, and she has been living with her cousin, I think. She was always crazy about my grandmother and my late uncle.

Pastor called and asked me to type a letter for the bank...
DGS has football practice at 3:00...
I have to be at church at 5:30 to help with supper
AND I have to finish preparing my lesson!!! (Planning on doing that after I drop DGS off at practice.)

Well, what was I thinking - men can't shop in stores that are not specific to their interests. HRH took one sauntering walk around the local Goodwill and walked up to me where I had just gotten a cart situated in the second group of clothing circle-racks I'd come to. He said, "Ready to go?"

I took a few more minute's time in order to find any sweatshirts at all. Grabbed two that aren't obviously wrong and we left. Never looked at teeshirts for the dgs who ddolder says is the most in need of some right now, never looked at any clothes for any other purpose. No books, no other items. Sigh.

We went to the nice grocery that has a buffet of lots of healthy items and got take-out lunch and came home. Double sigh.

Maybe ddolder will go with me another time. Meanwhile, I can consider these two sweatshirts.

LadyM, that note does seem to have some shorthand-like initials for which you'd probably need to know the people or places, but the cursive writing is not bad. What was always hard for me was letters of. say, my grandparents' friends - complete, long letters that I'd struggle over, while my dmother read right through, never missing a word. Ddyounger just hands back to me notes on greeting cards that I can read well. I think it's just a spectrum of ability, and we're headed toward no ability at all with cursive, lol.

Remembering my dmother saying, you sort of compute the writer's style - how they make their letters - with the first paragraph, and then you can read a long letter from them using that like code.

I'm oddly pleased with these purchases so far. I had taken a tape measure with me so at least I could measure the chest measurements and that does seem to have been wise. Let's hope.

Ddolder's troubles with HVAC continue to mount. Now the repair, which would have been under warranty, won't hold, so a complete new "box" for the interior unit must be built, custom. $2,500. Because this is a home that I actually own, but where she is living and will likely inherit, it becomes yet another problematic situation. We'll have to argue this out, both insisting on taking the lion's share of a cost like this as usual. Sigh.

We tried to figure out a time when she and I could go out on a shopping trip and our calendars won't line up. She only has Friday, and that's the biggest day of my week.

Re: Cursive
I am journaling went back to re-read earlier entries lol I could not read my own writing on some words.
Had to do a bit of editing! Just a few every so often so it's a keeper still made me think I needed to share today
on topic.

Note to self* Print in future legacy journals or slow down when writing and be more focused
to improve readability!

I have this journal about half full now it's not very thick & had fun titles aka prompts and art
with larger spaced lines making it easy to use. I did get about three done today.
I did go out on the deck to write it was so nice to hear the birds!

Had lunch not sure what's up next taking a slow down day here.

Sitting in school parking lot waiting for DD14. We dont have drop off or pickup lines here.. the bell rings and students pour out of the door scattering in all directions.

Harriet has me thinking about visiting thrift stores while I'm wasting time in the city. I prefer the classic style shirts that might be easier to find there.

Cursive is hard isn't it LadyM? I read or transcribe a lot of old documents and consider myself fairly proficient, but there are some court clerks who didn't write very legibly. It's easier to read a longer document because you can compare words you know to those you don't, and often you can get a word through its context. That makes a list of unrelated tasks harder too.

I've been sidetracked but I decided to put the cushion covers - at least the bottom ones - in the washer. They are of Sunbrella so should be fine. The covers on the back are harder to get off so will just hose them down I think. They aren't as dirty, and can actually be cleaned with bleach if needed.

I'm still sidetracked. Temple business, other stuff. I was busy and engaged all day yesterday so it's normal to not get so much done today.

Tomorrow I have body work at 10, and workout at 2. In between dcleaning lady is coming around 12:15. And dh bowls so I have the evening, if ddog will allow.

I've been writing this all afternoon. And still I can't get it posted.

More on cursive, yes Nancy, sometimes I can't read my to do lists....
