Re: Tattler Tuesday @ TDD - C&C
Safe travels today, helia, and good luck on keeping your cool and calm when facing all those tasks!
Bama, unfortunately, competence is hard to find in our company. Today was especially bad!
kittykatt, looks like a very social day!
Dogged, are you up yet?
Home from work. It's 5:30 and I got here like 10 minutes ago and I am sporting a major headache because I spent over 7 hours at meetings today. Days like these, it's hard to remember why I keep working there, or why I keep trying, because apparently people would rather I did not do my job and just okay everything, and not insist on things being done the right and legal way.
But I am home and I have a whole another set of tasks to do!
TaDas
- morning madness
- day at work
- get home (luckily DBD took bus from school independently today)
ToDos
- morning routine
- midday routine
- chase kids to do homework

Re: Tattler Tuesday @ TDD - C&C
I hope the headache eases, trissie. Dh has those days at work too where the work day is back to back meetings all day sometimes with additional meetings at night - a phone/ zoom call. He is kind of in a bad mood those days. And I'm usually the one to make him dinner when he gets home. ((HUGS))
Hi Peaches!
Some progress - but so much still to do. There's no way I can go to the get together.
General categories of TODOs:
1. Funeral services - still to coordinate: flowers, write my talk, can I add to the snacks?
2. Funeral Services - slideshow -- this has it's own line as it's a bigger task and it needs to be done before I leave town bc I won't have a scanner in IL (for old photos)
3. Food while in IL - family meal on Friday after the service (bc dd29 is celiac, restaurants are not an option - even those with GF items are not an option as she's been cross-contaminated too many times) + daily food; I can go to a grocery store on Thursday but also want healthy snacks in the car tomorrow -- and of course I'm low on some items now
- I have run my errands and am not buying any more food here.
4. Payroll: sub plans + midterm test made + practice test
5. laundry - wip
6. PACKING and loading the car
7. Taxes
8. S2KJ get together - 2 hours? 1-3 pm
9. JOG
Next:
- call bakery
- call florist
- darks to dryer; lights washing
Later:
- back exercises
- dress to jog
- short jog
- pick up photo at Walgreens
- WF: turkey lunch meat, fruit, salad veggies for tonight
- s2s and self care
- some qt
- make the bed
- call GF bakery

- lunch at some point
- TJ run: GF foods

- 1-3 KS2J get together??
- order more nespresso pods
- payroll: make midterm test
- payroll: make practice midterm test

Re: Tattler Tuesday @ TDD - C&C
I think that it is the same thing as collar bacon, Kittykatt. It's funny; as I was eating it I was thinking that it is really more like English bacon than ham.
What a lovely, social start to your day: between laptime with Freddie, chatting with dneighbours, and DH making the main meal.
Hi, Gma
Bama, the closest thing that I know of to what North Americans normally eat is the ham that you cook at home. So it's much saltier than just a pork roast, but it's not like the precooked ham that have a sort of jellied quality to them, which I also like but are currently priced so high. Where I live, pork shoulder is smoked like ham, and if the bone is left in, it's called picnic shoulder, but if they take the bone out, they roll it up and call it cottage roll. I find the shoulder just as nice and it's about 1/3 of the price. It's well marbled with fat, so it's not tough like you would think of a shoulder being.
(((helia))) Do what you can, get help where you can, and go easy on yourself for whatever you cannot get to just yet. You are in mourning, which makes it harder to keep up that pace.
I am at the end of Page 1 and my break is over. Will be back.
Tuesday
Put on a pot of coffee
Cleaned up after dog
Treats for Germane
Put away dry laundry

hi Peaches!
Oh, here you are, Dogged! Your meat sounds lovely! Will you eat it all fresh, or will you freeze some of it?
helia, I think my day would improve very much if somebody cooked ME a dinner... however, the next best is starting a aromatherapy lamp with caramel latte in the kitchen
TaDas
- morning routine
- midday routine
- chase kids to do homework
- load of colors running
ToDos
- afternoon routine
- start dinner
- 15 in office

Back again.
Tuesday

Started emptying out granny cart
You are doing great, helia. Very wise to set aside things that are too much on top of everything else you have to do.
((trissie)) Sorry about the useless coworkers. They make the workday so much harder. I remember watching my df navigate challenges with her toddlers, and applying her techniques to my coworkers, LOL.
I think that the pressure to rubberstamp things instead of inspecting properly and requiring an actual fix is right across industries. They are lucky to have you protecting them from lawsuits, even if they just want to push things through and then have you as the fall guy if things go wrong.
I would be happy to share my breakfast with you, if I could. I am eating avocado toast with sliced cottage roll. It seems ridiculously luxurious for someone on a limited income, but the meat and avocados were on sale, so here we are.
I'm not sure if I will finish the meat before I leave, or if I will put in in the freezer, but I will definitely have the stock saved in the freezer for a pea or lentil soup. Also, you know that little container of vegetable scraps that we use for stock? I have been throwing the fat trimmings in that as well.
I am up, and got a reasonably early start for me. I don't leave until Saturday; I don't pick up the rental car until Friday, so I have three full days to pack everything except food. So my main goals are to spread out the packing/trip preparation so that I don't trash my joints just before I make the trip.

Re: Tattler Tuesday @ TDD - C&C
Dogged - what I am working on is general terms and conditions for a *****. By insisting on it being thought through, written clearly without any possible misinterpretation and in line with the existing legal regulations, I am protecting the company against countless future law suits, reputation risks and financial damages due to ****. I am not going to budge here, but it's exhausting!
I think I am on my last set today. I did the routines, homework, dinner, even some deep cleaning - gonna add some laundry care, an apple gingerbread sheet cake for DS to take to school tomorrow (German style - no frosting, only a layer of chocolate glaze on top so it can be slided and put in lunchboxes), and call it a day!
TaDas
- afternoon routine
- start dinner
- 15 in office
- laundry flipped through dryer
ToDos
- evening routine
- 30 on laundry
- bake something sweet for snacks tomorrow

OOhh, that does sound nice, trissie! So . . . you're just whipping up apple gingerbread sheet cake after a long day of payroll, kids, house, dinner, etc.?! You're truly the wonderwoman of the SHE world! If I drink enough coffee, will I be like you?
I love avocado in almost any form, Doggedly. Are you visiting your brother? I think I won't have time to mourn again until I'm alone in the car for 6 hours tomorrow.
It's raining now, so I'll do something else before I go for a jog. I think I'll scan pics of my mom.
