Good morning!

So happy to see dilenamd here yesterday! (Started a post but never finished.)

Glad to see your mom back home, blessed.

My Guardians lost. Will probably root for the Blue Jays in the AL and anybody but the Dodgers in the NL. But so many of the division and league championship series games are on cable (or cable equivalent) that we won't be able to watch most of them. The World Series, at least, will be broadcast.

Had an "interesting" evening yesterday. DC had said they wanted to take the bus to their girlfriend's house after class. I asked if they were going to take the bus home (I've told them no more rides to/from there until they finish the online part of the class they have to take after failing the driver's test), and they said yes. So DH had guys' night, so I asked DD what she wanted for dinner. She wanted to go to a burger place that is less than a mile from DC's girlfriend's, so I sent DC a text saying depending on what time they were leaving, I'd be happy to give them a ride home. Left another text when we left, another when we got to the restaurant, another before we left the restaurant, maybe a couple in between, and heard crickets. Finally sent one from the grocery store (by this point, it was after the last bus) and heard back that they were planning to stay the night there. So it was a case of "I said I'd take the bus; I didn't say when." I was not thrilled with the lie of omission, particularly as DC has been talking about dropping one of their classes, and I said as much. They said they'd come home, so we brought them. If they'd responded to the first text with, "No thanks, I think I'm going to spend the night," I would not have been thrilled, but I certainly wouldn't have been as ticked as I became.

Need to send the kids to the grocery store for me -- there are a couple things we need that I can't get from the little grocery store that I can handle. One of those things is for today's lunch, so we really need to get going.

After lunch will be discussion with DC about that class. I'm not sure what's going on; they were really worried about it and planning to drop it, but then they talked to their prof and were feeling better about it. So I don't know what's up except that today is the final withdraw date.

Anyhow, we need to get that lunch.

I have my dd's help me when I forget things on the computer. I have never been a whiz at it bc it didn't really interest me beyond learning online or being social. (esp. here)
thank you for sharing that commercial - I loved it. I remember Maxwell house commercials and this one is a special one.
I bought dh a stove percolator for christmas - bought on Vermont trading he has said he really wants one - I put him off on it bc I thought of christmas. Will he use it - I doubt it but he loves toys of any kind. to him this is a toy/ a remembrance.

the way to do something well is to have already done it once yesterday.
I loved this. thank you d harriet.

HARMONY!!!!! I love seeing her DD posting. ANY news from Harmony warms my heart and brightens my day.

I've done the normal things this morning minus public school & homeschool. I used that school time to do deep dive research into fish oil vs cod liver oil vs krill oil. My doctor wants me to start taking omega 3 but didn't have a recommendation of which one. The purpose of taking it is to lower cholesterol. I will also be taking prescription rosuvastatin to help in that endeavor also. I declined to take PCSK9 inhibitor shots. We agree to retest in 6 months and discuss further at that point. The goal is to be lower than 377.

I've harvested cucumbers, okra, tomatoes and peppers this morning. I am enjoying every day of having fresh summer vegetables.

Oils - I don't know if algae oil would be in the running. That's what HRH and I take, but not for heart/cholesterol, necessarily. It is an Omega 3.

Our trip was traffic-tough. Took us until well, well into commuter time to get home, although oddly that was mostly close to home because of what may have been a big wreck or other impediment. A complete road closure sent everyone on a long journey. HRH hadn't had enough to eat and by the time we got home he was irritable and angry, said he felt shaky, so I guess his blood sugar was as responsible as the traffic. He had only had crackers and a ginger ale as he waited for me.

Otherwise, my day was not a problem and in fact encouraging.

Patricia Routledge has passed away at 96, HRH says now, looking at his computer. We have loved her so. She is my screen saver on my phone, with her classic shocked expression as Hyacinth Bucket - Bouquet from Keeping Up Appearances. That show is such a delightful comedy example of the wildly different emphasis on housekeeping and propriety by 4 sisters.

LadyM … I take Red yeast rice to lower my cholesterol. My PA prescribe it to me years ago instead of prescribed prescription pills for it.

Seems like the weather is going to be very nice this weekend. Dh and I got another meal's worth of green and yellow beans from the garden just as the sun was setting tonight. I also got a large number of raspberries.

I have a load going in the washing machine. All dirty dishes are in the dishwasher but not enough for a load.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

We still don't know whether dsonil and dd27 might be able to come this weekend. I called her last evening in VA and she was tucked up in a hotel room very sleepy by 8 o'clock, after a long trip and workday at the convention. She said she'd had to get up by 3 yesterday morning, so I don't know if it was an airplane trip or she just anticipated it would be that long a drive. I wouldn't be surprised if she sleeps the weekend away.

I am pretty sure we'll see our green-eyed boy because he will want to get the yards mowed this weekend, his Dad says. He has intense Sunday activities with their youth group at church, so I would think it will be tomorrow.

Sometime this weekend, I owe 4 cousins a telephone call. yipes. Probably won't get all that done (family of talkers).

Next week, we have so little going on that it will feel like a vacation BUT the dishwasher is to be installed Wednesday. Hurray. Dd27 said when she was here that she couldn't believe we'd gone through everything we have since last summer without a dishwasher. It's true I pretty much quit the kitchen for a while, but HRH got it done. It will be so nice to have the convenience back after these years without.
