I need to get started working on tonight's lesson. I have wasted all my time just scrolling on the phone on FB. It is unreal how much time I can waste doing nothing. I slept late, I guess feeling I was justified after having dgrands here for most of the time since Friday afternoon.
Pastor sent a text -- I need to go by the bank before 4:30 to sign for safety deposit box our church has, and she said she had asked ddil if DGD could come over Friday afternoon to play with pastor's dgs. (You see how troublesome it would be if things blow up at church??? Whew...)
I have also got to get busy preparing for tonight's lesson -- I have read it and made a list of the scriptures, but I am just not impressed. This book we chose is just not well-written or something. It seems like it takes a bunch of pages to say nothing.
It's 2:00 pm now...
I need to get some priorities set here.

EDITING --
[x] prepare lesson
[x] s2s
[ ] go to bank --that will have to wait till tomorrow
[x] make a grocery list -- pick up after church
[x] go to grocery store for fruit (I don't trust Wmart people to choose like I would)
[x] go to church
[x] talked to DS on phone -- DGS is practicing with varsity football team this afternoon -- will most likely be allowed to dress out for remaining varsity games. (To say "practicing" is using the term loosely. We expect DGS is wandering around watching, hopefully interacting with other boys his age, but he is something of a loner for the most part. At any rate, this will change plans for Friday night for dgd -- even if all he does is wear a varsity uniform, ddil and I will want to be there. Pastor wanted to take dgd and her DGS to one of those party pizza places in Next Town, but she will have to be back by 7:00 at the latest.)
[x] did 15 min walk away the pounds

Glad to see you daytime posting, Lucy! And I'm glad your dbil talked ddil into sticking where she is for the moment. I suspect any of the new organizations you might join might be useful in getting a pastor that you're happier with? At least I hope so!

I just walked the sweet ddog. We're supposed to have a cool-down soon - it's nearly 80 degrees here today. Dh was talking earlier about using our firepit this evening and suggesting we plan for an early supper so he could fire it up. He's been sitting on the screened porch in the sun - just came in to put on shorts and admitted it's not a fire pit night. Thank goodness!

I've been down my usual rabbit holes. Not sure I've strengthened my case but I've sharpened it a bit perhaps.

I need to get rolling on our supper. At least it doesn't have to be early...

It's not that there isn't a dishwasher in the kitchen, it's that it will be another week and a day before it can have electricity. We see no alternative but to wait until this electrician gets home from a long trip a few thousand miles away. The fellows installing do have an electrician with whom they work, but he is extremely busy. They say you can't find anyone in any of the construction-related occupations who isn't busy, but electricians are the worst,

Otherwise, I'm pleased. A very attractive cabinet area and no problems with that, water restored correctly. This was all day, however. By the time we were actually here alone again it was after dark. We still don't have the items put back into the closet, but it is ready for them.

I got a lot of scraps sorted, pressed, stacked, stored. That kept me away from most of the sawdust.

Our weather is turning, too. I think we may be able to get by tonight, but it won't be long before we'll really need to turn on the heat.

Edited above, got all my stuff done except the bank.
Tomorrow is pretty much a free day. I have things to do but nothing except the bank that is “necessary.”

Dgs was sick after practice. None of that family came to church except Dgd, and I took her home after Wmart pick-up.
I hated for dgs to miss tonight because two of his classmates showed up. They’ve never been to our church before. One is a cheerleader, related to our pastor, and the other is probably dgs’ best friend on the football team — he and dgs are always talking on the sidelines. I told them I hated that dgs wasn’t there, that he is almost ALWAYS there. So maybe they will come back.

And yes, Harriet, whatever decision the church makes, we should have some association that will help with replacing the pastor.
Tomorrow is another day.
