Morning all. Helian that sounds like a lovely day yesterday. Productive and something fun.

Frenchie that is great ds helping cook. A lot of patience... but somehow I don't even remember the transition between painful coordination and suddenly at like 12 or so he was able to cook a full meal himself and teach me knife skills... that is a great start.

Ohh gma such a trying time for you. I am so glad all of you are surrounding mom working together. Sorry the home didn't work out. But maybe this is the better way for now??? I'm so terrible with words but wishing you all comfort as you care for mom.

Glad you got a nice slow morning trissie. Sounds restful.

And a busy Sunday for kittykat too.

Yesterday felt very productive here too. I never finished my post in the evening. And I left a lot of things undone. But my living room is a world of difference. All I did was vacuum. And decide to move all the furniture except the big heavy couch. As I shoved the small red one around it landed on the other wall freeing up the windows. Without the desk that disappeared a while ago that direction just feels less cluttery. I moved my big chair to the corner by the piano again.

Except there's 2 giant bowls cabbage
.. a dining table that just needs a quick straighten. I made supper and just plain left it all not cleaned up. So much done and yet leaving it all unfinished just looks like I did nothing at all.

There is also a giant pile of firewood outside. The boys didn't get back till almost 4. And ds 15 had a good day. It was work getting him out the house at 8 but quality time with brother and cousin. He endured and thrived a day of physical work where a year ago he would have been whining and not moving after a couple hours. And the best part? My class 1 driver son gave his brother a driving lesson in the old beater that who cares if he put it in the ditch a couple times. He has a long way to go learning steering and control. Eeeks and he's supposed to be able to write his learners test in a month? I hope ds26 does that a couple more times before then...

Looks like we're doing stuff for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Except I think ds and ddil are home now. She was at her parents place preparing food and lil j ended up getting sick. Very sad little guy so she brought him home to daddy. Oh well that's on my agenda this morning. Check in with sister this morning and see if she's going to invite mom and dad to her house. Dad was saying yesterday it would be nice to have it at his house so mom would be comfortable. But we think she would be excited to go to sister's house again and get out. Plus I should go spend the day there and do some detail cleaning if it should be there...

Oh and busy morning now. Church. I'm not on music but lots happening. Baptisms. Even a mini wedding of a couple of widows who are new believers and have been living together for a while. Wanting to do it right... lunch after church. I better get moving.

lauralind, somehow your day off yesterday meant rearranging furniture?
helia, crossing my fingers that things will work out in the USA before the 24th and you won't have to fly without traffic control. I think I'd rather drive than risk that, quite frankly! And DH and his crew, they actually willingly opted for driving from Michigan to Oregon during their business trip this May. He hates domestic flights with passion and there's always the issue of some of the sensitive electronic equipment getting damaged with rough handling, so they drive whenever possible.
Frenchie, we have a weird system where the president is basically endowed with powers of a constitutional monarch - that's because we had a constitutional monarch till 1918 and then a very gentlemenly president Mr. Masaryk who actually looked and behaved like a monarch so they gave him the powers, and it stuck even for the less savory presidents :-) During the communist era, the president had no real power (that was held by the First secretary of the communist party) but had to look like he had powers, and so here we are now. But at least now we have a chad of a president :-) his poor security, just this weekend they had to participate in a cannoying marathon! :-) https://www.facebook.com/reel/1403120931238249 - he's the one with the white beard, probably 20-30 years older than his crew, but it looks like it's them who struggle to keep up! :-)
(((gma))) so glad you have family around to share the nice and then bad right now! Holding you and yours in my prayers!

Sitting down with a cup of tea. Got lots done, just not the stuff on my list! :-)

helia wishing you time to relax in between social times. And good running vibes to your DFriend on her marathon.

trissie your president seems to be in great shape ! Or maybe his PR and comm team is relying on AI to make him look so

laura if I'm not here before tomorrow, happy Thanksgiving to you and yours !

L.Ann glad you could have time with your friend today.

Beautiful weather continuing. And warm if you stand in the sunlight. DS7 played in front of the house with his basket ball then with chalks (and ants..) while I was doing basic gardening and putting a lol in the sun on the drying rack. Now back indoors. mrNG had a two hour nap. Good, because he spend almost two weeks with hardly 3 or 4 hours sleep early in September, and said he was unable to nap, even on weekends. he's now sleeping longer nights and napping. Possibly stress because choosing to start a year of traning with no salary was a big question mark at the beginning. Now he got his intrnship training okayed not far from here, and the "lessons" he's had seem to confirm it's interesting. He is surrounded with like-minded people, well they share values and mindsets, and most are his age, 45-50yo people making changes in their job lives.

TADAs
did things around the house, and a lol
time in garden, in the sun
snacks and time with DS7 - DS9 went to play with young neighbour R--

TODO
vacuum upstairs
5 minutes assessing what I should be doing with my small closet (wooden cupboard with three shelves and a 80-90cm rack for hangers) : separate winter and summer stuff ? declutter ? organize better ?
kids to shower, last check of the homework front, reheat dinner, eat, kids bedtime
some time for me
write a realistic weekly list ?

Frenchie, our president's the real deal - he was NATO Military Committee chairman (like, the third highest ranking NATO official after Secretary General and the Supreme Allied Commander Europe) till 2018 and he has the looks and habits of the army general he is :-) He is my president, I voted for him, and I am very proud that he represents us. That's like, the first time since Vaclav Havel, whose term ended in 2003!
And what movie will DD be seeing, L.Ann?
