Good morning L Ann!

And dh is finished! He finished in 2:04, including his 1 minute stop to stretch. It's not the fastest course as it has a couple steep uphills when runners cross into Canada (up the ramp to the bridge across the river) and then back into the USA (up out of the tunnel that goes under the river). Dh is just happy to be able to do this again! Last year, he couldn't do it because his foot hadn't healed yet after surgery.

We've had coffee. I did my back exercises and made the bed before I went out again.

Next:
- s2s and self care

Later:
- lunch reservation at 12:30
- payroll: finish GGT spreadsheet
- payroll: start prep for AIAS Day 3
- email ML
- lists in notebook
- memorial thank yous progress
- read book
- knitting progress
- dinner at some point - somewhere
- duolingo
- update health apps
- 8:15 family zoom call

TaDas!
- up; threw clothes on
- walked to the start line with dh in the drizzle
- coffee in hotel lobby
- my key wouldn't work; got it activated correctly
- email deletions + weather websites
- tracking dh on the app
- back exercises
- make bed
- cheer on dh in last mile  meet dh near the finish line

trissie you're probably right, they'll soon be teens who want to be left alone, and the living room will be empty and quiet and us grown-ups will feel useless and old  You remind me I want to buy a pumkin or two. We won't be home for Halloween but we can carve pumkins, and maybe next weekend we can do some kind of party too... DS7 would love it.

helia congrats to your DH ! Poor runners, in the drizzle. There is a small race here that was supposed to happen today (something with breast cacner research funding), but with the rain here, I don't think many people will run.

Hi L.Ann I thought you were going to walk with your Dfriend. Will you be detail-cleaning your kitchen today?

So after lunch DNeighbour A-- (6yo) came to invite both boys to play at her house, with her younger sister (4yo). We suggested they all come back for afternoon snack around 4.30pm - I insisted for DS9 to say so to their parents. So I baked a cake and was grateful for some silence in the house. But... they all came back around 4, I had just barely put the cake in the oven - ok maybe 10 minutes earlier - and now the house is full of kids. 2 boys, 2 girls, is a bit too much for my ears. DNeighbour A -- has an especially loud voice. But they are well-behaved girls and DS9 is entertaining both of them in his room, making DS7 unhappy and jealous.
I needed more quiet time, I wished for more spare time, but I managed to declutter a few things from the Extra Room (as per FlyLady's Zone plan) which is the small attic between the boys room upstairs, it could be used as a very tiny guest bedroom and is usually the room with the piano and a couch and clutter. If I declutter it more I can sometimes bring a small table there and use the room as a sewing room for a few days ? I'm allowed to dream, right ?

TADAs
all fed breakfast
all fed lunch later, MrNG did the cooking
cleaned up
entertained kids with online sudokus for awhile, then other online games, then Neighbouring girls invited both DSs
made a quick cake, also prepared payroll lunches (and training day lunches), 2 for MrNG, 3 for me
decluttered a few things from upstairs attic

TODOs
manage to get rid of the girls, as soon as it's polite to do so
boil potatoes for tonight's tartiflette
Weekly list of to-dos for the past week, prepare list of to-dos for next week
dinner, clean up, prepare bags and clothes for tomorrow, kids' beddtime, bed early

Morning all. I'm so sorry gma. Words can't express how much yor life will change but the outcome was just what should be. Surrounded by loved ones and where she wanted to be. In her home. What an inspiration she was to so many. And you as well.

Frenchie that's fun having the neighbor kids around.. I get it. Somehow my house is usually very quiet and I was so ready for them all to go home.

Helian how wonderful dh could do the marathon again. Interesting close enough for over the order and back again. Sounds fun for you to get to cheer and watch.

Well I guess it's been a successful weekend. Though yesterday kinda didn't feel like it. I took melatonin to sleep again. And we stayed in bed till 7. Got up with a headache and my whole back and neck off. I just felt off most of the day. Slowly did a few things and dh was productive. It was cold and rainy and almost snow in it so that didn't help. But dh finished getting the firewood split and under cover. I blanched the kale and then failed at vacuum seal because it's wet. The kids got a good portion of stuff moved into their new house. And dh took apart the porch lights and put new bulbs in. Led me to clean the door and front steps deck and get all the cobwebs and gross bug stuff off the wall etc. Front entry looks like I can finish it and decorate a clean entry area.

But now it's after 8 and I have to get in the shower. Two hours and I should be at church. I'll update ds events in a bit.

Yes, Lauralind, we live about a 45 minute drive from the Canadian border! :) This race's claim to fame is that it is in 2 countries. LOL! Sounds like great progress on ds and ddil's new house.
It sounds nice that your boys could play with the neighbor kids, FFB. I wish you had more free time, though. Of course you can wish -- and I hope that you get your own sewing space some day!
WTG washing the cabinets, L Ann.

Hello, everyone!

(((Gma and family))) I'm so very sorry about your DMum, but how wonderful she was in her own home and with those who loved her.

FFB, we've had rain all day too. I can understand how having 4 kids running through the house instead of the usual two is overwhelming! Of course you can dream about your sewing room - every bit of decluttering is progress towards your goal.

Trissie, no frost for us yet, just rain! Could your older DKids help host the Halloween party? Last year G13 decided she was "too old" for trick or treating, and instead wanted to host, so she could give out the treats to "the children " instead. I think DF CW is planning something similar again this year.

Congratulations to DH, Helian!

WTG with the kitchen decluttering, L.Ann!

The porch is going to look lovely, Laura!

Hi, Peaches!

Today we had our Harvest Thanksgiving service at church, followed by coffee and cake. Today's lunch menu was roast chicken, roast potatoes, creamed leeks, gravy, carrots, peas and Savoy Cabbage, followed by apple crumble and cream. Neither of us will need needing any supper!

I've folded and PA laundry, and cleaned out my sewing tin. Both Freddie and Matilda have spent time on my lap (separately! ) Watching Poirot now with DH.
