Finally getting here. Kingsley, the cat, showed up when ds + F were walking out the door to go to the hospital. He was hiding under Felicia's car! That really buoyed everyone's spirits this morning. Maybe those of you with cats can explain why Kingsley and Mini, their other cat, are now hissing and growling at each other after the night apart. I thought they might be happy to see each other. Hmmm....

I'm way off my routines, but things are generally going well. Ds and F will meet with the Dr. at 10:30 this a.m. and then we'll get an update on little I. The plan is for me to go to the hospital around 12:30 pm to see her. The hospital is a 35-40 minute drive away. Before I go, I'd like to run a couple errands and make progress with payroll stuff. After the visit, I'm going to try to get in a jog before the sun sets around 6 pm. Not sure about dinner; probably on my own. Ds + F won't get home until around 8 pm, and they say they won't want to eat. I could eat with Sh, but not sure. She talks nonstop but doesn't ask questions about me or my life, so I really need some breaks from her. Since ds + F are off to the hospital for the day, that leaves me in the house with her. She doesn't have access to a car, so I've been driving her around.

Hello, everyone!

FFB, I may be summoned across the road to admire G13yo's Halloween outfit, as they are having a party for her friends, but I think that's going to be it for Halloween participation!

Helia, that's wonderful news about Kingsley. I suspect some at least of the reason why he and Mini are hissing at each other is that Kingsley smells different after his night out, and it's possible she doesn't recognise him (cats identity mostly by smell) and is protecting her territory. Have they both been fixed? If not, then he may have spent the night with another lady cat... If they were friendly to each other before then they'll almost certainly settle down again, although it may take some time. And, of course, there'll be another big change when Baby I comes home. S and F do know not to leave the cats alone and I supervised with Baby I, don't they? Most cats do *not* like being grabbed, poked or squeezed, and will retaliate. ( That's why we ended up with Freddie!)

I understand about how tiring SH must be. When DBIL comes to visit he talks incessantly, and at one. I either just tune out and let it all flow past me, or I shut myself in the kitchen. Maybe you could say you had some lesson prep to do? That would be a good reason to find a room on your own, without causing offence.

L.Ann, at least bringing the surgery forward means it's over and done with.

I have a clean and tidy sitting room, and DH has left for his choral group. So far, I've taken advantage of his absence to update the kitchen calendar, and dismantle the multi-photo frame with the broken glass. That's now safely in the dustbin. Not sure what I'll do with the photos yet. A couple are really nice, so I'll want to keep them.
