Good afternoon, FFB! I hope payroll is productive and not too stressful, and the boys are happy with their first day back at school. (I think they only had a week off? Here some of the schools have 2 weeks.)

Hello FFB! Happy to see you lurking.
Interesting topic for the week, trissie! Makes my own travels seem so tame in comparison, especially considering the comforts and ease of this century.
WTG getting in your walk without missing the postman, Kitty.
It is very gray outside right now, but the sun is supposed to appear later.
Friend SS can't make it to our coffee date this morning, so I have more time before going in to work. Hope to use it well. Today, I have payroll: clas preps, teaching 1:30 - 3:30, and exam prep progress. I also need to obtain some groceries. If possible, I'd like to get in a short jog. I need to be more proactive about this; the sun now sets an hour earlier, so time after work to do this will be diminished. There are also several phone calls I need to make, bills to pay, and memorial thank yous to write. . . . Too much for one day, so those latter items might get moved to tomorrow.
Next:
- some qt
- back exercises
- WF run
Later:
- put away WF items
- payroll: prep AIAS D9
- payroll: grade HW5
- dress to jog
- short jog
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- (clean sheets on bed? Or tomorrow?)
- lunch
- Kroger order?
- gather everything and otd by 1:15
- payroll: teach AIAS D9
- payroll: LBBR Exam draft out for review
- dinner: peanut chicken, rice, sauteed baby bok choy
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- Memorial thank yous?
- knitting?
- reading?
TaDas!
- up; weighed self - up
- kitchen reclaimed
- coffee
- email deletions and weather website; high of 57 so not bad for this time of year

Good morning again. Salutations. Our weather lows are going from the 40s to 60s this week. Hope we don’t get sick. The time change messed me up last night, it got dark so early. At least it’s sunny now. Need to stay outside as much as possible and soak in the vitamin d.
Trissie, hope you have/had a good day at payroll.
Kittykatt, you’re doing so well with Christmas planning and I haven’t even started. Also with your walking and gardening, even in this weather. I need to follow your lead.
French, have a good day back to routines with your family.
Helia, good point about travel conveniences now vs the 1500s. I can’t imagine how rough it would be back then compared to what I’m used to. Good luck with your to do’s.
I’m just getting going and in search of fuel. I aim to be very productive today.

Re: Ferdinand Magellan (Fernão de Magalhães) Monday @ TDD - C&C
Did a brief skim through so will post that while it is in my head.
Gma - St. Anthony, please help gma find her lost thrumb drive of her mother's pictures - send her a visual memory of where to go look. Now your job is to just relax, try to remember the last place you remember seeing it and if you can retrace steps of what happened after seeing it. What happens for me is I get this very strong feeling to go look somewhere and even if you have looked in that place repeatedly go look there again. I am so sorry to learn of your mom's passing but she sure did live a long full life. You were/are such a good and dedicated daughter just as you were for your husband. Doing a memory travel to your mom's home town sounds healing.
KK, never ever heard of saskatoon berries. I learn so much.
Helia you asked me a question and now I don't remember what you asked me.
Probably for questions sending me a message would work best since I am so hit or miss on here.
LAnn cute little witch.
FFB hope trip was fun.
There were other thoughts while I read but now I have lost them. Someone was talking about memory loss. I will just ask if you have noticeable memory loss do you take statin drugs like atorvastin? Also for debilitating shoulder pain - does it time timewise with a vaccine? These are 2 things that have happened recently to me and they are real issues. Also if you were or are diagnosed and medicated for bipolar - did you know that women with ADHD and/or Autism present as bipolar? Happened to me too.
On the Atorvastatin - I took for High Cholestrol for years and I have noticed over the last about 7 years my memory kept getting worse and worse. My first male doctor said if you can remember you don't remember you are fine. Not helpful still worrisome. Then switch to a female doctor who simply doesn't take me seriously and thinks because of all the supplements I take I am a hypochondriac - I am just very bodily aware and my blood numbers are great. My memory problem got so bad that I retired because I thought I had early onset dementia. Was alerted to the statin connection in women and I stopped for a month of pill boxes. and within 3 days my brain was totally back to normal. Trying to control with diet and supplements.
On the vaccine shot connection, I got my flu and covid vaccine from the doctor's office and they injected them too high on my shoulder and I got a shoulder injurly out of it. It is thought it was injected in my bursa and my arm hurts and is hard to use or support weight in many instances.
On the AudHd /bipolar front. I was going through workplace bullying and was in a cycle of anxiety, no sleep emotional breakdown. Went to a psychiatrist (should have gone to a psychologist didn't understand the difference at the time) he spoke to me for 10 minutes and diagnosed me with bipolar type 2 and put me on some debilitating drugs - depakote - which made me incapable of doing anything. Went off, got a second opinion and was told I was seriously ADHD (which I already knew) and now that they have changed the description of the Autism Spectrum I say I am clearly AudHD and that explains so many things but I learned many women are misdiagnosed because we look different and the definition was determined only from male subjects.
Just some random thoughts today.
Yesterday a dear new friend, have not known her long, passed from a very hard battle with cancer. I saw her a week ago and we were going to go on Saturday but it got so busy and hubby had to run home because he forgot something and then we had 2 plays so thought we would go on Sunday. If we had gone right after church, that was when she passed one of my Daughter's of the King sisters got there just as they took her away in ambulance - she was only in this new locataion for 3 days. Our church is very old and someone new dies every week. I am not ready for this time of my life of constant funerals. She always wanted to teach us to make Crosses so we are going to have a Cross making table at our Quiet day next month in her honor. Need to think of mediums we can use for this and make examples and print out different styles of crosses.
Painter is here to paint the rest of the main and my office will happen next Monday and Tuesday. He is just doing my ceiling and he needs to repair my ceiling. Offered to move stuff so he could repair before he leaves today to save him time next Monday waiting for it to dry. I like the new paint.
I have the entire day today, thinking what can I do?
Clean out the 6 drawers in the bathroom an upper cabinets
Put stuff on Buy Nothing Bloomington to gift and load car to take to Healing Hands.
Clean out 6 island drawers
Clean out 4 kitchen cooking item drawers
Clean out gift closet, put it on my bed to sort and reorganize and wrap items and label for Christmas Presents
Do my finger nails and toenails.
I think gift closet is calling my name today and maybe bathroom drawers. I can watch a movie while I do this.

Anything is progress, kittykatt!
Hope your payroll day was a good one, Frenchie!
helia, a hundred years ago "going to Prague" from my village would be the highlight of the year. Now, I commute there daily to work! Travel sure has changed!
so what's your fuel of choice, Bama?
L.Ann, I did try the peanut udon stir fry and the kids reaction was... well, they are for sure getting shifts in the kitchen to stop complaining! But then again, I didn't like it either, but I was being polite and not rude
are you on any meds, CostumeLady? DS (who is Asperger / ADHD) recently got prescription for very low dose of Risperdal to manage his emotional outbursts better and Ritalin for concentration. Gotta say, the improvement of his life, our life, and his school performance is ginormous! But for him, it's the puberty hormonal imbalance stage that we have to get over.
I got a call early in the morning that grandma haD died. Also was told that she was conscious, just very exhausted (didn't react, didn't open her eyes in two hours I was there), when I was there on Thursday, so she was aware I visited with her (she had a couple good moments during the weekend). Feeling sad, a bit guilty I was not in contact enough, but we all knew she was not going to get better (multiorgan failure), so she's in a better place now. This part of my family does not do funerals, only scattering of ashes, and apparently that cannot be done in fall/winter, so this will take place in spring.
Life does go on, though. As always, I have to squeeze emotions in there somewhere, as dinners need to be cooked, floors cleaned and homeworks overseen. Didn't sleep well, so that's not helping either, but at least I will be able to sleep tonight?
TaDas
- morning madness
- work
- get my tires changed
- pick up DBD
- clean DBD's room
- deal with cat peeing on carpet in upstairs corridor - again! (the carpet is so due to be replaced once kitty's gone - at 18 and with a bad knee she just doesn't always bother to go to the litterbox...)
- morning routine
- sorted, delay started and flipped to dryer a load of lights
- nagged kids to clean their rooms - deadline is 5:30
ToDos
- midday routine
- clean master bedroom
- 15 in kitchen
Hope your payroll day was a good one, Frenchie!

Hopefully it is better received here, Trissie. DD32 usually likes anything with noodles and We both like mushrooms and cabbage. I omit the sesame seeds though because that is not a favorite garnish!
That is interesting about the statin CostumeLady. A lot of people do well controlling cholesterol with the Mediterranean diet. One of DD32’s doctors recommended taking a small dose to start only 3 days a week. I just started that in early summer and saw a huge improvement in my numbers but I am going to keep the memory side effect in mind in case I start to see that.

Re: Ferdinand Magellan (Fernão de Magalhães) Monday @ TDD - C&C
CL, I don't remember the question so it must not have been too important. I hope your shoulder heals!
trissie, I'm sorry you lost your grandmother. So glad you got to see her on Thursday. Everyone grieves in their own way and on their own timetable. It takes time and energy, and you don't have much extra of those resources now. ((HUGS))
Enjoy lunch with your brother, Bama.
WTG with walking, L Ann. I'm curious if you will like the peanut udon or not. I make an Indonesian peanut chicken recipe regularly, but I add coconut milk, which makes it more like chicken satay. It's a pretty well-liked dish.
The sun has appeared! I haven't jogged yet so I'll do that after lunch. I'm going to s2s and then work a bit on deskwork - phone calls and snail mail bills - before heading out to payroll around 1:20 pm.
Next:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
Later:
- put away WF items
- dress to jog
- short jog
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- (clean sheets on bed? Or tomorrow?)
- gather everything and otd by 1:15

- payroll: LBBR Exam draft out for review
- dinner: peanut chicken, rice, sauteed baby bok choy
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- Memorial thank yous?

TaDas!
