My Thursday is having a few bumps on the path of life but nothing that can't be handled. DH didn't sleep well last night so that means neither did I. I put us both in bed at 11ish with hope that he would stay there. I immediately went to sleep. DS17 woke me up around midnight because DH came into his bedroom but wasn't talking. DH was roaming the house for hours. Eventually he settled into his recliner, so I caught a few hours of sleep, but they were accomplished by sleeping lightly and waking up frequently to check on DH. I think I dreamed of having door alarms that would wake me if DH went outside.....maybe it is something I need to look into. Thankfully DH is doing better now and I can see progress being made in his recovery.

This afternoon I will get DD14 from school and take her to family doctor to discuss recommendations from the autism doctor. I'm reading through the many pages of evaluation results and picking out what that doctor recommends (below). Will our family doctor agree with the other doctor recommendations? I guess we will find out today.
** ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) I believe this is being taken care of by DD14 trusted therapist.
** Occupational therapy. - I'm not sure if this is something needed in addition to DD14 trusted therapist. I am clueless.
** Baseline Labs: CBC/Ferritin, Lead, TFTs, Vitamin D- 25 OH Levels. DD14 recently had her yearly lab test done. I'm not sure if they included these recommendations.
** neurology referral for baseline EEG and MRI to evaluate for any Brain abnormalities
** Physical therapy
** Consider sleep study
** Holistic nutritionist consultation. Referral to a nutritionist
** ADHD evaluation. Hum...the doctor said DD14 had ADHD but is recommending further evaluation. i don't get it.
** referral to ophthalmology for reassessment of refractive error and alternative correction options
** Trauma-focused therapy referral. I recently asked DD14 trusted therapist about this and she is trained in trauma therapy, so I think this is covered with that service.
Zeezees Louise! That seems to be a lot of recommendations. Looking at the entire list is overwhelming. Hopefully our trusted family doctor will sort though them and guide us through the process.

Wrapping this DAR stuff up is taking less time than I thought but I had to come downstairs for scanning with a printer that can feed pages in, and do front and back. As RR knows, the documentation and citations are very exacting, and DAR citations are like another language to me. I'm getting it, I just don't do this often enough to get good at it. And this printer is balky about scanning doubled sided documents, but it's doing it with several starts and stops.

I've washed three sets of sheets now, still have one to fold. (Upstairs guest bed, day bed upstairs, and our bed. I just had her put fresh sheets on our bed instead of waiting for those to be washed/dried.) And washed a set of towels for guest bedroom. I've listed what I need to do upstairs for guest bedroom (vacuum, refresh bathroom and toiletries) and my work room for dd (change the bed - waiting until tomorrow - vacuum, towels for dd, toiletries for dd?, do we have a comforter for it?)

Hummm. Need to go back upstairs at my desk to check these pdfs.

Cathy! I can almost SEE the lightbulb going off in my head -- blue tsunami -- NOW I get it! LOL!

I have a few ta-da's but I still feel kinda like I'm falling behind.
1st ta-da: I finally made the DPC ... and I mean DREADED... remember, my regular dentist TOLD ME to call the root canal dentist on Monday, because I might need a different antibiotic. I waited till I finished the z-pack Tuesday, then Wednesday I was just a total slug, so I FINALLY made that call today. Hmmm... I told the receptionist what was going on, and now I am waiting on them to call back. They close in 35 minutes, so I just told DS -- the ball's in their court now and I am not going to concern myself with them anymore. I do not want to take another antibiotic and I will see the regular dentist in 12 days anyway.
* 2nd: Put a load of clothes in the washer (it just beeped; need to go take care of that
* 3rd: Swept and MOPPED the kitchen floor -- I used the Swiffer Power Jet I borrowed from dmom. I'm not sure I'm sold on it. I need to see how expensive those pads are. I definitely like it better than the flat Swiffer pads I've used before.
* 4th: Went to the church and signed a few checks
* 5th: Talked to DS and dgrands
* Also did morning routine except for s2s  I have GOT to make night time shower a habit. Looks like twice a week I'll be signing checks at church, and it just always seems if I am late getting started, something happens to make me have to leave the house before I'm prepared.

(((Nancy))) I hope you find the good mood wagon again soon. :) The full moon has been beautiful the last couple days. (Glad I'm not teaching school though!) Mmmm... I bet your house is going to smell sooo good when you get that bread started.

I hope all goes well with your dd's flight, Twins. I've been watching that news also because dbro may be planning a trip up here for Thanksgiving.

I hope you and DS had a good lunch, Rose! (((HUGS))) for back and shoulder muscles.

I'd be grumbling about the helper, too, blessed! My goodness.

Oh -- I missed SmileLee! Waving!

(((LadyM))) I would think door alarms would ease your mind a lot, but unless you put one on your bedroom, you might still have the problem you had last night.
I can certainly see why you would be overwhelmed with all the recommendations for DD... I think I would be confident with whatever current therapists and family doctor say; they know DD best.

Tomorrow I will have to do school pick-up and both dgrands will spend the night with me. They are going to a birthday party for our pastor's dgs on Saturday, and I'll drop them off at 10:45. They will likely be home around 3:00. I told DS they could both stay tomorrow and then swap Saturday and Sunday -- they are out of school Monday and Tuesday for Veteran's Day. DS is out of town all weekend and I think DDIL has plans for Friday night with some friends.
Tomorrow is another day.

proud of myself - I have been sticking to my weekly focus for a month now and it is showing in the things I am accomplishing. little steps at a time. I am sure the cleaning angels helped with my attitude. feeling a bit more caught up.

dh didn't want to get the other garbage can out and he left bags of trash next to the one garbage can- but I did - I was able to fit 5 big bags in our extra bin. :D

today was errand day:
got a gift card for neighbor :D (dh wanted to give a garden shop gift card) - I gave him a thank you card for him to send out with the gift card.
picked up and dropped of cleaning :D
(dd Youngers comforters that she asked me to bring in; along with three of mom's sweaters)
bank :D paid back dh :D . got tip for garbage man.
one more spot - mmm don't remember ;)
paid a bill that I didn't know was late.

tomorrow I need to get gas as it is supposed to be very cold on Monday
plant more bulbs - garlic, daffodils and dwarf iris
put away umbrella and hammock
put away anything that needs addressing.
water and then undo the hoses for winter
put mom's pull up boxes, pads, etc. on the shelf in the garage.
dd younger will be gone tomorrow but I want to finish laying out her dog stuff to go through
tomorrow dh's dentist appointment - he may get his tooth pulled. They need to talk to him first - bc he has a trac.
it frustrates dh that they are needing to talk to him first.

I sent the helper home two hours early - she hadn't taken a break but she didn't do much with mom while she was awake - mom sat in bed awake reading a magazine (huge for mom - huge!) - but she was here, near mom, the whole time which really helped. I need to focus on getting mom out of the house for a walk even when chilly. she loves it. Another miracle - mom folded wash cloths - she could barely move, eat or think. Will it stay this way - probably not but I am enjoying this week. (mom is kind of asleep) it's the wrong time but I think it's bc mom didn't do anything today physically except with dd's early morning strength exercises for mom.

today still: get the one chair that needs to be tossed out.

DD14's consultation with the family doctor went okay regarding the recommendations from the autism doctor. DD14 is being referred to five specialists plus 3 tests (blood work, MRI and EEG). There might be additional referrals, but I want to first confirm with DD14's trusted counselor if she can provide the three recommended therapies: ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), Occupational Therapy, and Trauma Therapy. Who knew autism could involve such extensive medical considerations... certainly not me! I'm trying not to overthink everything involved and just take it one appointment and one test at a time.

I made a big pot of mac and cheese today, and there are two flavors of chicken available—teriyaki and mesquite. No starving or complaining teens are happening.

I am ready to be done with this day. I have a few more things to do then I'm going to call it a day.

d lady enjoy a quiet night! you and your dd have a lot of information to work on and go over.

my dd had an EEG - she couldn't sleep the night before and the wrapping of the head with jell and wires took time. actually dd thought it was interesting. :D it took a bit to wash out the jell.

so glad that they are working towards what is most helpful for your sweet dd
