"buy salt for cars"? Blessed what do you do with the cars and the salt? Do you have a bag in the trunk in case you get stuck?

We had the car and the truck both covered in snow and guess who had to clean off her car before going to Monday morning stitch group?

I got all the utilities paid this morning, including the $45 ambulance bill. So happy to finally have it so I could pay it.

TIred. I got dd to shuttle and got to workout - a little late but I was there. Great workout as always and home again. I am tired now. Tired of people too. I changed my Thursday workout to Wednesday so I can go to Knoxville on Thursday. He has on our calendar that his niece and her family are near in a resort area beginning on Saturday and I don't want my trip to overlap with his so we need dog sitter. He says now that the niece's trip is on the wrong weekend, not the coming weekend. It sure would be easier for me to go on Friday and try to have breakfast w dcousin on Saturday a.m. but there's a football game in Knoxville on Saturday so that won't work.

Anyway, I need to walk the dog. Dh did it this a.m. Temp is now 34 "feels like" 24 and still having snow flurries. I'm leaving my workout tights on and changing back into turtleneck and I'll take the dog.

Oy I need to check on dd's flight to see if she's going to be stuck in ATL.

DH is on phone nonstop with TV on low. I need to get him used to going upstairs some.

And we're doing leftovers for our dinner. We have pork barbecue, two or three small lamp chops and some steak. Also butternut squash.

I've taken a few "one minute" efforts --
* took dgd to McD's for breakfast (she was awake at 7:30 :!:  but thankfully, let me sleep till 9:00 a.m.)
* stopped at DG and bought dmom a new Swiffer mop (to replace the one I stole borrowed from her)
* folded a small load of clothes
* washed/dried towels and underwear (have not folded those yet)
* vacuumed and mopped master bath
* PUPA a little bit (it's kinda a losing battle when dgrands are here)
* pulled dead leaves off houseplants
* got extra ticket from dbil for football game (I am about to put these on S#eat G#eek to sell)
* went to bank to see what was in the church safe deposit box (a lot of papers we probably do not need anymore, no crown jewels or anything)
* went to post office
* back home

DGD went with ds and had her hair trimmed and she is back with me also. I told her supper tonight is leftover taco soup, take it or leave it. The wind is just awful today. It makes is seem so much colder. Also told ds if dgs wants to come back tonight, ds can bring him; I am not leaving the house again! Brrrrr....
(Kids are out of school today --teacher personal development -- and tomorrow for Veterans' Day.)

EDITING -- Famous last words -- I just took dgd to local drive-in for a corn dog, french fries, cheese sauce, and an ice cream cone. And sweet tea. I still maintain, I am NOT going out AGAIN. The wind is 16 mph and it "feels like" 21!!! We had a few snow flurries today -- not enough to get excited about really, but dgd was happy to see it. I'm already over this. Enough with winter.
Tomorrow is another day.

sorry it took time to get back - re: salt
our snow plow people charge is now $90 a bag for salt to be put down on our driveway - bc of those pesky three broken ankles - I don't walk outside on the driveway when it's pure ice(the type where ice is on top of the snow as well) - I keep salt in my car to toss out the window onto my driveway - it's safer than me walking outside. I drive up and down the driveway as the salt takes hold.
it's funny to see! I am the talk of the road lol!

dd older got hit again with the the intestinal problem again - she didn't want to make an appointment for the gi bc she thought she was well. I don't know that is going on.
praying

look at you d Lucy - big way to go!
stay warm!!!

d twins glad your dd got to the airport shuttle (I thought you were going to have to drive there!)
breath in the quiet that you have at your house right now! you need the peace!
praying your dd is able to take off and have a wonderful flight!

d Nancy yay that the lemon worked well for the microwave - we used to use lemon and salt for our cutting boards - the big one that cracked and had to be tossed.
yay on last load of clothes in the dryer!

hi d cathy - I am glad you got to go to stitch group! how much snow did you get?

waving to everyone!!!

did more work but spent a couple hours with mom and helper - learning French for helper and then putting on tino Rossi and Mireille Mathieu christmas music - gave mom bells - she sang with it and she said it warmed her heart and gave her wonderful memories https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPwUJDt ... rt_radio=1 it actually made me cry - seeing her - weak but looking out singing her songs.
I realized that when she is gone that my own memories of being with mom and her family will no longer be shared together. My French family is all young now. What I know about France is from my mother's time. what I know from my grandparents, family, traditions will also just be with me. my cousins didn't have the same relationship and experiences as I did - my mom was the keeper of the flame as my grandparents and my mothers cousin were that for their family. it made me sad. I have to remember how lucky I am to have thad this time with her. it made me sad to see her old and remembering her memories and no longer having her family here for her. I will miss her.
(I know we have all gone through this-it isn't easy - I have been through this with so many loved ones and this just hit me hard today)

DD’s flight is 1.5 hrs late so far. At least it’s direct ATL to LaGuardia. Dh asleep in front of TV. I’m in bed reading with the dog.
